That's fine because there was the risk of being powerbombed. Taker WAS being pinned. If he knew he was being pinned, he had to either let it go and escape the pin or hold onto it and get pinned. There is no inbetween. He was in a losing situation. He could either release it and fight on or lose the match. There is no way he could have rationally thought he could get the win before being pinned. You also have yet to address the fact that if he did know what was going on why did he get up and start celebrating as though he had won the match?

Rudo, Taker would have to be a complete fucking idiot to have realized he was being pinned and held the hold anyway thinking "surely Angle will pass out in the next three seconds, AND hopefully the ref notices this as he is counting my shoulders down." And even if he did think that, why did he get up and start celebrating like he had won? According to your theory he was completely aware of what was going on so he would have to have known the ref counted his shoulders down for the 3 count.

Rudo, I love your passion but you are going a bit overboard here. First off, yes this was a great match and I'm surprised to be saying that. Next topic is Ankle Lock 03. Taker is not the first to escape it. Shawn did it during the ironman they had. But it is a very good spot because it usually does mean the end of the match, so I must admit when Taker escaped it I was thinking he may very well win this match. The point I take most issue with are the "they need promos to make the ending clearer." Angle let go because Taker was fucking kicking him in the face. As for why Taker didn't let go? He didn't think he needed to. He very obviously did not realize he was being pinned. When the ref rang the bell Taker got up and started celebrating. He had to have thought that Angle submitted. Great match with a great ending sequence. I have no issues with a rematch, but the last thing we need are boring promos from these two explaining the obvious and telling us why they did or did not release a submission hold.

I guess all I expect is more Sting-Vader. You have the strap match, but there is still the title switch from the GAB, the King of Cable match from Starrcade, and one I've always felt was underrated, the Fall Brawl 94 triangle match with Sting, Vader, and the Boss(or was he Bubba at that point?).

I think the SS92 match is the better of the two. Both are excellent matches though. I think the only reason the IYH match is underrated is because it is, obviously, an In Your House match. That means not as many people have seen it as would have had it been at a major ppv.

Yeah, I saw this at the theater a while back. Very interesting, very informative, and very deserving of its recent best documentary feature nomination for the academy awards.

I rented it last week. It is a very good movie. There is a scene towards the end where he goes absolutely insane and spends about 10 minutes cursing and screaming at people for trying to keep him from his beloved bears, that alone makes the film worth watching. This guy is nuts, and it's fascinating to see a person this far gone. The only thing I think missing is the audio tape of his death. Had we gotten to hear that, I think the story would be emotionally complete and would probably have been one of my favorite movies of last year.

That doesn't make sense because Vince "guarandamnteed" that Shawn will get screwed at this Sunday's Royal Rumble. If Shawn is getting screwed, it won't be AFTER he wins the Royal Rumble, it will be during the Royal Rumble. Vince dosen't always get what he wants. If the winner of the Rumble is NOT getting the shot at Mania, Shawn makes perfect sense. Having rey win the rumble and then not giving him his shot would be ludacris. The fans would be pissed off beyond belief. HHH winning the rumble then not getting his shot sure as hell isn't happening. The only other possible winner is Orton and it could happen the opposite of what every here is saying, and Orton wins then loses the shot to Rey on the road to WM. BUT, seriously, how much can one character be assassinated? I know this board would love it, but if they do this to Orton AGAIN, he will finally be beyond salvaging and lost to them as a serious main eventer forever.

With Meltzer's new update, it now leads me to believe that the winner will be the man I had as 4th most likely to win and the only man going into the Rumble with an actual story: Shawn Michaels. Shawn wins, and then Vince finds a way to screw him out of his shot at WM, and that leads us into the much rumored Shawn-Vinny Mac Mania bout.

Any mention of other matches added to the rumble card, like maybe Benoit-Booker?

Meltzer is reporting the Mexicools as being pulled from the rumble, so I guess they can now be removed from the list.

wwe.com has Flair in on the raw side and Booker in on the sd side, so those two can be added to the lists.

How the hell can the AFC's 6 seed be favored over the NFC's 1 seed? I could see maybe if the Seahawks had played bad in both of their playoff games, but they played extremely well in both, especially today against Carolina.

You do know that neither of these teams will be playing Seattle IN Seattle right(assuming that Seattle beats Carolina)?

Wow, I wish I could find this match somewhere. I remember seeing it when it aired and loving it. The tv time ran out on the match before it could end though and they said they would recap it on a weekend show but I missed it. To this day I've always wanted to see that match again, AND know who the hell won it.

If that is true, then something big is on the horizon or vince and company are farther gone than I ever thought possible. If Cena can't maintain his popularity fighting Angle, then what do they think will happen if they match him up against Shawn if everything with those two stays as is?

Why the hell is Orton facing Benoit in the 7th match of a Best of Seven series between Benoit and BOOKER T??? The last two weeks were fine with Booker being injured, but he apparently will be fine very soon. Could they really not hold this off until the Rumble?
