I bought my 30GB iPod Video about three months ago after I managed to sell my 6GB Mini. I thought about holding out on buying anything because I knew they were bound to release some new gen stuff soon, but I said the hell with it, and I couldn't be happier. Specially after a friend of mine hooked me up with this Cucusoft software for making iPod-compatible video, so now I also have a great Kiss concert downloaded and a greatest hits, so to speak, selection of Shawn Michaels matches from various dvds. And I still am about half-way from full capacity so everything's cool.

Yes, that was terrible. Luger winning was no doubt fixed.

I think in some issues they tried to even out the top 10 to 25 or so with around the same number from WWF and WCW. I think they said things were equal with around 5 the year Malenko got it so they gave to the most skilled wrestler. You are correct. I still have that PWI issue somewhere, and I remember they said they had to change their criteria just this once because they felt there was no absolute, clear-cut winner for that year, so instead they gave the nod to the wrestler they felt was the best and most skilled in the world. IIRC Misawa was ranked #2 that time beacuse they also said they felt it wasn't appropiate to give the top spot to a wrestler who didn't compete within the US.

Are you sure? I'm gonna have to check on that, although if it did chart you might remember it was originally a song from Bruce Dickinson's first solo effort (Tattooed Millionaire IIRC?), so technically it wouldn't count even if Maiden included it later on No Prayer For the Dying. If I recall, "Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter" was a number one single in the UK. But I don't know if they've ever charted in the US. Iron Maiden has charted quite a few singles on the UK charts since way back, but I was talking about the Billboard Hot 100/Top 100 Singles chart and I was right. There's never been an Iron Maiden single ranked there. I was wrong on my Bruce Dickinson reference though, as "BYD...TTS" wasn't on Tattooed Millionarie, although I'm sure it was a Dickinson song before it was a Maiden one.

Bret Hart might disagree with that.

Shawn was totally awesome in 2005 so I'm happy with this ranking, although I'm not sure about the time period used for criteria.

Yes, and if memory serves right, they're also one of the biggest bands of its kind to also never appear in the Billboard Top 100 singles chart. Even Judas Priest charted back in the day with "You've Got Another Thing Comin'".

RAW also experienced a decline on this week's ratings. It seems pretty obvious that there's some correlation between RAW's ratings and ECW's, as evidenced by the last 3 weeks. Two weeks ago RAW experienced a dip, so did ECW. One week ago RAW rebounded, so did ECW. Let's see what happens next week.

Holly certainly drank Heyman's Kool Aid. I'm not implying that it was a well done angle or anything like that. I'm only saying there was precedent for the actions, even if it was a flimsy one. As for Holly believing a well-known liar? Most wrestlers are stupid and/or gullible and easily distracted. How else would you explain any of them being distracted by a manager/valet/second in a match when they have a match won?
-
Fun fact for those who care: A Matter of Life and Death debuted this week on Billboard's Top 200 chart at #9, making it the first time in Maiden's history that they charted in the Top 10 albums. Their previous high was #11 for Somewhere in Time.

Sorry, man. Rapidshare and sendspace are motherfuckers. They have a DL limit and sometimes it goes fast. Don't sweat it, man. I tried Pegasus Kid vs Liger today and it actually worked. It's only the tag match that doesn't work now.

I think I remember Heyman telling Holly that RVD had said some derogatory things about him regarding his Hardcore name/reputation or something to that effect. Therefore Holly got pissed at Van Dam.

Has WWE released full seasons of 1990s RAW on DVD?
pochorenella replied to a topic in General Wrestling
I believe this one is at least on the planning stages, as it was mentioned on a poll on WWE.com about which DVDs fans were likely to buy. We'll have to see. And I also think it was confirmed that WWE was planning a Royal Rumble Anthology box set for future release. No specific dates or anything, though. -
Bret vs Austin - WrestleMania 13 Flair vs Steamboat - Clash of the Champions VI

Neither of the links for Pegasus vs Liger or the RWTL matches are working for me.

Marvel has released a few panels from Civil War #4. I saw them at Newsarama.com and they look awesome. Check them out here.

What he said. "TWINE" no doubt looks better in my eyes with the presence of Denise Richards and Sophie Marceau, although the first one could've (or should've) shown a bit more skin in the movie. Of course, Xenia Onatopp still rules the fucking world.

I second this one. Classic, no nonsense pose... And I also wanna see that Spidey tatoo coming out of the grave. Just too cool...

Congrats to Roger Federer, who now becomes my favorite current player after Andre's retirement (not that anyone cares, but still), on winning his third consecutive US Open and firmly etching himself as one of the all-time greats in the sport. He still has a long way to go until he matches Sampras' record for Grand Slam Titles, but at only 25 years of age and with the level of dominance he's exhibiting I'd say his chances of matching and surpassing Sampras are extremely good. I must say I was surprised on the lack of resistance Roddick displayed on the finals. Even Blake put on a better losing effort against Roger, as I was a little worried for him. But Leena's right, after losing that 3rd set Roddick just wasn't able to muster any kind of comeback. Federer proves that even when he's not at 100% he's still dominant nontheless.

I couldn't help but feel somewhat angry at Federer for not wrapping it up on three sets when he had the chance. He could have closed it with his own serve but allowed Blake to break him and go to tie-break. Then after a 4-1 lead on the tie-break and two serves, Blake managed to put himself 5-4 in the lead. Federer even had a match point but lost the set, and now Blake won a set from him for the first time in his career. On the fourth Roger had a 5-1 lead and again had the opportunity to close it with his own serve but again, dare I say it, choked to allow a comeback for Blake that almost cost him his two previous breaks on Blake's serve. Managing to grab the game after his fifth or so Match Point when he had easily much earlier on is just not acceptable for me. I expected a fight from Blake, but Federer was making huge mistakes here. Hopefully he'll correct himself and not allow such mistakes against Davydenko.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Youzhny play his singles AND doubles matches on the SAME DAY?? That's highly unusual, let alone taxing. If true, certainly a day to remember for him.

Agreed on you Nadal point. I really thought he was gonna win (not necessarily easily) against Youzny (sp?) and was quite surprised. Anyway, I thought he wouldn't be able to overcome either Hewitt or Roddick so him not making the semis is not surprising. You also make a good point on Nadal's FH, specially on this kind of surfaces. Regarding Federer, I have him pegged to win the Tourny, but I wouldn't bet on him steamrolling over Blake. It'd be amusing to see, but he could have quite a bit of trouble on his way to a win. And about last night's game between Roddick and Hewitt, I have to say that Roddick surprised me with his easier-than-expected victory. I thought it would be a 4-set Roddick win, but Roddick seems to have upped his game under Jimmy Connors, and looks quite motivated on this particular Tourney. It'll be interesting to see how he fares against Youzny.
