X3: Last Stand DVD Details and Covers
pochorenella replied to Yuna_Firerose's topic in Television & Film
I'm too lazy to check the link. Release date, please? -
I recently made a cd for a friend of mine who asked for non-metal/hard rock music to train with. Granted, it's mostly Rocky music, but I thought this was a nice selection. Aside from the James Brown song I like the listing, but after reading this thread I think I missed "The Final Countdown" and "Push it to the Limit" (from Scarface.) Here's the song list: Journey - "Only The Young" (from Vision Quest) Bill Conti - "Gonna Fly Now" (from Rocky) Survivor - "Eye of the Tiger" (from Rocky III) Survivor - "Burning Heart"(from Rocky IV) John Cafferty - "Hearts on Fire" (from Rocky IV) Robert Tepepr - "No Easy Way Out" (from Rocky IV) James Brown - "Living in America" (from Rocky IV) Vince DiCola - "Training Montage" (from Rocky IV) Vince DiCola - "War" (from Rocky IV) Gary Glitter - "Rock & Roll Part II" (from pretty much every fucking sporting event) Trevor Rabin - "Titans Spirit" (from Remember The Titans) ZZ Top - "La Grange" (from Armageddon)

But his body was never found, so there's a high possibility that he's alive. -
Hell no. Hell Yeah. Sorry that you disagree.

Van Halen's "You Really Got Me" over The Kink's version. White Lion's "Radar Love" over Golden Earring's version.

The Directors Cut DVD Discussion Thread
pochorenella replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in Television & Film
That extended version of Robocop is also in that solid, and cheap, Robocop trilogy set that was released, so no need to track down the Criterion release for that reason alone. Well I've been looking for this X-rated Robocop dvd and I can't seem to find it anywhere, for a cheap price at least (it's $35 used at amazon.com), and since I'm not shelling the cash for the box set (I truly hate Robocop 3) then I guess it's tough luck. -
Reservoir Dogs: 15th Anniversary Edition
pochorenella replied to BlackFlagg's topic in Television & Film
I also love Special Editions with all the extras and stuff, but I already own RD on DVD and I have to say I'm happy with my purchase. Unless I find this at an extra super-duper reduced price then I'm not getting it. -
Hey, did someone mention Samurai Pizza Cats?? That show was funny as hell, and although I never followed it with a passion like I did shows like Mazinger or Dragon Ball Z I always enjoyed it whenever I saw it. Sadly, I never played the NES game (I didn't even know it existed.)

By no one mentioning the ratings, did you actually mean discussed ad nauseum two pages ago? Sorry, my mistake. -
OAO ECW on Sci-Fi Thread for 7/25 (Week 7)
pochorenella replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
It seems no one has mentioned this week's ratings. The show got a strong 2.4, with the overrun doing a 3.0 (source: PWInsider.) -
Nice pics, DrVenkman.

Just a little clarification on this. Shannon Tweed's been living with Gene Simmons for over 10-15 years, they have kids and everything, but they've never been married, nor plan to in the near future. As a Kiss fan I should know this. Whoever it was that mentioned Shannon Whirry, she's probably one of the all-time greats in soft-core porn. Those natural big breasts are a big plus. And about Athena Massey, she maybe did something like 3 or 4 movies only, but boy did she leave a lasting impression on me. She mostly had brief, small nude scenes, but her best work no doubt has to be that movie (I forget the name) were she's a cop and goes undercover in a whorehouse (what a novel concept, huh?). She was all over that movie and the sex scenes were terrific.

Is there going to be an Ironman movie?
pochorenella replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Television & Film
Favreau also confirmed the Mandarin as the movie's villain. If they get the ten power rings correctly the effects could be awesome. -
Fucking sweet picture. And I also agree it shouldn't be the tongue-waving version but the McFarlane version.

I think that's actually a cool-looking shirt.

I finally got to see the movie this weekend and I'm terribly disappointed by it. It was too light on action, I found some lack of continuity regarding this movie and Superman II, some terrible plot holes (nobody even cares to ask Clark were he was or what he was doing all those years he was gone??), there was lack of chemistry between Lois and Clark/Superman, and don't even get me started on Lois' kid. Superman came off pretty good (the flying and all that stuff was terrific) and I think Routh did a decent job, as did Kevin Spacey, but the movie just fell flat for me. Of course it doesn't help that I'm not a Supes fan in the least, but I thought I'd enjoy the movie anyways. Boy was I wrong.

But aren't they in a six man tag match at SNME? shit man, that makes it even better I'm sure no one will agree, but I'd almost rather see a Batista/Rey match at Summerslam over Batista/Booker T...if they properly book this thing (and SD seems to be the only show booked halfway decently), they could make the match work and make it believable. They are likely going to have Batista Vs. Rey down the road. Add me to the list of people who'd love to see that Title match for SummerSlam.
-
I'm hoping for those, as well as at least a couple of matches from the Hollywood Blondes era with Austin.
-
Good to have you back with your downloads, Alro. I'll check out the Title matches and maybe the promos. Thanks and keep them coming.
-
I thought it was a pretty good game. I would've been disappointed if the ref didn't show Zidane a card, but he was spot-on for almost the entire match and this was no exception. Sad ending for Zidane, who started out being the hero of France but ended up as the villain.

Superman has now grossed less on its second weekend than what Batman Begins did on its second weekend, so now it's looking like SR might barely break $200 million in the end. Keep in mind I'm saying weekend, not overall gross. POTC 2 is no surprise, it has been the most anticipated movie of the year by far. What is surprising is the margin by which it beat the previous record-holder (Spider-Man), but some of you guys are right: At this rate POTC 3 might just beat it again, not to mention Shrek 3. Is Spider-Man 3 opening on a weekend?

I agree with this. I'll root for Italy today after my favorite (Brazil) played so terrible and got eliminated. I guess my Italian heritage has to come through this time. But like Eskimo said, I want them to win like they did agains Germany: Playing offensive football and going all out, not like they tipically do, playing extremely defensive, waiting for the other team to attack in order to counter attack (I'm sure there's an italian word to describe this tactic, if anyone knows it they could please mention it?)

I guess congratulations are in order for both Federer and Nadal on this Wimby final. To Nadal because he managed to surprise pretty much everybody and reaching the Wimbledon final when everyone (including myself) and their mother had him pegged as just a clay-court expert. He had a lucky draw but still, he made it to the finals. And what else can you say about Roger Federer? He's just fucking amazing, he just breezed thru the entire tournament and only had his serve broken maybe twice before today, and lost his first set of the entire tourny today as well on a tie-break. I swear he was out for blood on the first set winning 6-0, and I thought he was gonna take it in three sets but Rafa amazingly managed to win 7-2 on the tie break. Then Roger almost won 6-1 on the fourth but Nadal broke again but still lost 6-3. Roger Federer is the only player I've been following closely since Andre Agassi, and I truly hope he keeps breaking all the records available. In fact, I'm pretty sure he'll manage to tie Pete Sampras for the all-time record of Wimby titles, and who knows, maybe he'll surpass him as well.
-
You're probably right about Nadal, Leena. Right now he's making short work of Nieminen but he's still got to face Baghdatis in the semis to reach that dream final. And I'm placing Federer in the finals no matter what cinderella-story Jonas Bjorkman is living right now. He'll come down to earth when he faces Roger next. I think Baghdatis might give Rafa quite a few problems, but I'm not really comfortable making a prediction here since Nadal has been performing above expectations. Granted, it's been against somewhat weak competition, but still, it's on grass. Nothing would please me more than Federer beating Nadal in straight sets for the Title, and don't get me wrong, I like Rafa Nadal. But if he reaches the final you have to believe he'll put his maximum effort in order to achieve the biggest upset and beat Roger, and I kinda worry about that.

This is the worst state I've seen US tennis in quite some time, and with Agassi's impeding retirement this year it is all but dead. Really, Roddick's only got his 140-something mph serve, but if you block it then you made it. Everything else on his arsenal is regular or downright mediocre. Blake still has a way to go, but I don't see him ever reaching the levels of excellence of guys like Agassi, Sampras, or even Jim Courier. That Young kid you're talking about, I don't even know who he is. The US better thank God for the Bryan brothers, as they're the only champions they have right now left. If they work hard maybe they can help Blake and Roddick squeeze a Davis Cup win perhaps, and even that's a longshot at this point.
