That may well be true. Seems I was the only one here rooting for Brazil to take it all, but after that atrociously-played game yesterday it seems France is a deserving semi-finalist. Zidane in particular played like his life depended on it. I blame Parreira for that weird lineup, making players like Ronaldinho play were they're not comfortable and for lining up guys like Cafu who're past their prime. And i echo the sentiments of a couple of guys here: I think Italy vs Portugal may be the final, although I'm torn on which country to root for.

Yes he did. He used it for a while after defeating the symbiote but stopped wearing it after fighting Venom for the first time, as MJ was freaked out by the costume (ASM #300)

Andre lost to Nadal in straight sets, thus making me lose tons of interest on this Tournament. I'm really disappointed, as Andre only fought on the first set with the tie-break. I think Nadal hit a career-best on Wimbledon now, I'm not sure he's ever made it this far before. Well, I still have Federer to root for. He's on cruise control right now and on his way to another Wimby championship. Hingis losing is a lso a disappointment. I thought she'd have no problem coming back to this level of competition, but it seems she needs some more adjusting or something. Anyway, I really don't care who takes it on the women's side.

Thanks, Retro Rob. I checked it myself and edited my post.

Is it, really? How is that number compared to others like Batman Begins or the Spider-Man and X-Men movies? EDIT: Nevermind, I answered my own question. Just checked BoxOfficeMojo.com and SR is 9th overall among wednesday openings behind S-M2, LOTR3, SWEpI, Passion of the Christ, LOTR2, Matrix3, and War of the Worlds. Among overall opening days, SR is 29th. It doesn't even come close to SWEpIII, XM3, or Harry Potter. Indeed, it is a disappointment. Let's see how it fares on the weekend, maybe it'll pick up.

Wow, that's a shitload of extras. Hopefully the US version also has that extra disc. If so then it'll be a sure buy on my part.

Well I guess all the Tim Henman conversation is moot because he lost against Federer 3 sets to love. And Rafa Nadal is struggling with some american kid and is down two sets to love. Come on, I want my Agassi vs Nadal, dammit! EDIT: Nadal barely managed to win the game in five sets against this american kid that came from the qualy. Let's see how he fares against Andre next. Go Agassi!!

I also like this ep 'cause it's the name of a Kiss song. (IIRC all episodes are named after songs, right?)

I'm pretty sure that amounts to the $200 million budget for this movie and the close to $300 million the studios have wasted in all the years between the last Supes film and this one. That includes "pay or play" deals with the likes of Burton, Nic Cage, script comissioning to people like Kevin Smith, etc. If they wanna put all that wasted money from the Superman Franchise and mix it with the budget for this particular one I think that's really not fair.

Awesome beyond all superlatives. Sandman looks great, and that scene with the black goo crawling up Spidey's hand made me mark out. Hopefully Topher can pull off the Venom character.

So Andre and Rafa could meet on the third round? That sounds mighty interesting. I know I'll be rooting for Andre on that one all the way, specially since I just found out that apparently he's announced his retirement last night. It'll be sad to watch Andre go, he's truly one of the greats.

I'm really glad that Andre Agassi is finally returning after being plagued by injuries almost the entire year. He's one of my all-time favorites and I hope he makes it as far as possible this year. Roger Federer is taking the Title again this year, of that I have absolutely no doubts. On the women's side, I have no idea, as most of the time I find women's tennis pretty boring. Leena, do you just hate Venus or Serena as well? I actually kind of like Serena's playing.

Ecuador played a great fucking game today but England goes through thanks to a genious shot by Beckham after he didn't really do that much in the entire game. In fact, he looked dead tired at times. On my part, nothing but congratulations to my countrymen who played an amazing tournament, surprising quite a lot of people. But who knows, if that shot by Carlos Tenorio on the first period hadn't hit the post we might be talking a different story here. Anyways, good for England and I hope they go far (until they meet Brazil, that is.)

I think I may be in the minority, but I hated the "star trek" logo, and the original one never did anything for me. I always thought the "Alliance" logo was the best. Simple, yet effective.

I think it really shakes things up, and opens the door for some very interesting developments. It's a bold move on Marvel's part, and I'm very interested on reading where it's all headed.

http://shopzone.wwe.com/Product_detail.asp...ductId=35-00530 WWE.com has announced the release of a DX DVD, which I believe is a reissue of the old DX video release and reportedly 8 extra matches. Here's what WWE.com has to say (my comments in bold): Seems like a winner to me. What other matches could they add? It's also confirmed that Bret Hart's speech featured on the HOF section of the WM22 DVD is complete and unedited. It also seems WWE released a dvd of the RAW Homecoming special, but it's unclear if it's sold on its own or as a special double set package with another DVD.

Most likely they'll both have some alternates on next tuesday's game, since they're both qualyfied for the next round already. I know I would save a few of my key players, specially since a couple of them have one yellow card and I wouldn't risk them in a game that the only stakes are wether you end up as first or second in the group.

I think Argentina, Ecuador, and perhaps the Czech Republic are the ones playing the best football on this World Cup so far.

Yes, that was a great issue. I still have it stashed somewhere, it had that special cardboard-thingie cover IIRC. But, even if I admit it was a terrific story, I believed at the time that it was a mistake for them to off Aunt May, powerful story and all. One of the good things that came out of resurrecting Norman Orborne was that it brought back Aunt May to Peter's life. Dare I say, she's even more integral to his life than MJ herself.

Starts with HHH and ends with Cena? I don't remember the exact match listing but a while back there was a feature on WWE.com where you could actually vote on which matches would appear on this 3-disc (IIRC) set. There wasn't a whole lot of those rare, hard to find matches, but it was a decent selection. And it went as far back as Sammartino and Backlund, so it could be an interesting set. From Meltzer Matches on the history of the WWE championship DVD out this summer Pedro Morales vs. Ivan Koloff 2/8/71 MSG Bruno Sammartino vs. Killer Kowalski 4/29/74 MSG Bruno Sammartino vs. Superstar Graham 4/30/77 MSG Superstar Graham vs. Bob Backlund 2/20/78 MSG Bob Backlund vs. Greg Valentine 1/16/82 Philadelphia Iron Sheik vs. Hulk Hogan 1/23/84 MSG Hulk Hogan vs. King Kong Bundy 4/5/86 Mania Los Angeles Hulk Hogan vs. Paul Orndorff 1/3/87 SNME Hogan vs. Andre 3/29/87 Mania III Hogan vs. Andre 2/5/88 Live Main Event Hogan vs. Randy Savage 4/2/89 Mania Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior 4/1/90 Mania Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart cage match 8/29/94 SummerSlam Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels 3/31/96 Mania Michaels vs. Mankind 9/22/96 Michaels vs. Steve Austin 3/29/98 Mania HHH vs. Cactus Jack 1/23/00 Rock vs. HHH vs. Kurt Angle 8/27/00 SummerSlam Rock vs. Austin 4/1/01 Mania Austin vs. Jericho 12/9/01 undisputed title tournament final Rock vs. Undertaker vs. Angle 7/21/02 Rock vs. Brock Lesnar 8/25/02 Angle vs. Chris Benoit 1/19/03 John Cena vs. Chris Jericho vs. Christian 6/2/05 Except for a couple of matches, pretty much everything is available on other DVDs but the selections are interesting. If they have some sort of match introductions or brief feud recaps before the matches then all the better. I remeber there was very little HHH to choose from when you voted, so it's not surprising that he's only got two matches.

I say buy them both. I did and I have enjoyed them immensely.

poch...I went through the huge undertaking of collecting all issues related to the Infinity Gauntlet, the Infinity War, Operation: Galactic Storm, Onslaught and The Age Of Apocalypse...I don't know if I have it in me for one more massive hunt. Hopefully a TPB will come out sometime soon. I think you know what I mean by "all issues" Maaan, that's a shitload of issues. Infinity Gauntlet I have on TPB, as well as the return of Thanos mini (I forget the original name.) Infinity War I only had a few issues, same as Galactic Storm, although I've been recently tempted into getting the first TPB. AOA and Onslaught I have it ALL, as well as most Heroes Reborn except the Captain America run. So, yeah. I'll try and read Civil War whenever I get an issue in my hands, but most likely I'll wait for the trade when it comes out. I'm really more of a TPB guy nowadays.

I thought I read somewehere Aunt May already knows. Jameson, on the other hand... I did a little research...yeah apparently Aunt May does know...I wish I could have seen that issue. Aunt May's been on the loop ever since the end of the first Morlun saga over in Amazing Spider-Man. As for Jameson, he was tricked by Peter into believing that his son was actually Spider-Man. That one happened around issue #12 of MK Spider-Man. Curious to find his reaction now. In fact, I'm curious about the whole Civil War deal now.
