Reissue of D-X DVD (with extra matches)
pochorenella replied to pochorenella's topic in The WWE Folder
The 8th match on the D-X DVD Excellent! Shopzone has finally shipped my order so I should hopefully have this by this weekend. -
Major Spoilers!!! From Newsarama.com, The New York Post has an article about the last page of Civil War #2 and it's a doozy! Click at your own risk. Thoughts? I'm shocked, to say the least.

ECUADOR!! ECUADOR!! ECUADOR!! 3-0 against Costa Rica and now we just have to tie with Germany to finish first in our group, awaiting either Sweden or Paraguay. I'd prefer either of them rather than England.

Huh? That's what happens to 99.9% of blockbuster movies, they drop every week. What's your point?

I remember watching AOTC on a digital theater, after previously watching it on a regular one, and being just amazed at the difference in picture quality. I took my cousin with me that second time and he clearly noticed it too, and there were even some different scenes as well (it was pretty much the DVD version, if you have it you'll know what I mean). Sadly I didn't get a chance to watch ROTS on a digital theater. Matter of fact, I don't even remember if it was released on any. I also would have loved to watch it on IMAX. -
Avi Arad talks upcoming Marvel movies
pochorenella replied to SuperJerk's topic in Television & Film
I'm sure he didn't mean exactly at the level of the others mentioned SALES-WISE, but he meant on the same level as an iconic, well-known, classic Marvel character. Alongside Captain America and Thor, Iron Man is part of the Holy Trinity of the Avengers and has always been the most popular member second only to Cap. And if you're looking at powerful characters, Iron Man could hold his own against the Hulk (at least for some time) and he can kick most X-Men's BUTT. Bottom Line, Iron Man is a CLASSIC MARVEL CHARACTER that could become a new and successful movie franchise if handled well. I for one am awating his live-action movie. -
Couldn't agree more. After a strong start with the first set, Roger just fell into a slump on the next two sets, making over 30 non-forced errors. His playing was pretty inconsistent throughout the game, and he seemed only to pick up the pace and apply pressure since the 10th game on the fourth set, which gave me a slight glimmer of hope that he would present a greater challenge on the tie-breaker. But it was not to be. Federer's backhand shots were his prime weakness today, missing an insane amount of shots, whereas in different times that is usually one of his strongests. Congrats to Nadal on winning his second Roland Garros Title, he certainly worked hard for it. I expected a bit more from Roger, but then I guess I was spoiled after that unforgettable 5-set Rome final. Still, the guy made it to 3 consecutive finals on clay, clearly not his strongest suit, and he lost all of them to the only guy that could present a challenge to him. Wimblendon is coming up and I see him taking it once again. Let's see how well Nadal fares after the clay season is over.

ECUADOR WINS!!!!!! Carlos Tenorio first, then Agustin Delgado for a much-labored 2-0 score. We're tied in first place with Germany and may be just a tie away from qualifying to the next round. SI SE PUEDE! SI SE PUEDE! SI SE PUEDE!

That's a good one, starvenger.

The WWE vs. ECW special show did a 3.1 cable rating, with a 5 share. The show did hours of 2.9 and 3.3. Credit: PWInsider.com I think that's a great rating given that it was a wednesday night, don't you think?

I say Germany wins against Costa Rica, and my countrymen score a tie with Poland. Go Ecuador!

Yes! Federer goes to his twentyeth-something consecutive final after poor Nalbandian had a boo-boo on his shoulder on the third set. They were tied a set each and the third was easily going Federer's way. And I don't remember exactly when it happened, but Federer scored an amazing point with a modified "willy" shot that was just off the hook. Fuck "willy", I'm officially renaming that shot "the Roger." EDIT: Nadal took out Lubjicic (sp?) in three sets, so once again we have Federer vs Nadal for the Title, this time a Grand Slam final. Hopefully they'll have another barburner and I hope Federer takes it.

No Kiss on the list makes me kinda sad, although I can understand it somewhat given the time period. I know they were at their biggest and most influential in the 70s, but they did release best-selling albums and had successful tours in the 80s and had a monster comeback in the mid-nineties back in makeup with their Reunion Tours. Most likely you're joking, but I think The Lizard is a terrific album. I have no problem suggesting people to give it a fair listen.

Yes, he was. Never cared much for the guy, but RIP.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
pochorenella replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
Right. The light-saber duels on the newer trilogy represented warriors on the cusp of their Jedi powers and training, whereas in the original trilogy you had two older guys, one more than the other, and a young upstart barely grazing The Force going against a "master" so to speak. It makes total sense that the duels are presented as completely different. -

I pretty much agree with the star ratings Lushus gave to the previous duels on the series. I also loved the ones from TPM, which some people said are too choreographed. I say so what? They looked awesome, the score was terrific, and other than the most recent Obi-Wan vs Vader on ROTS, they're the best in the entire new series. The ones in the original trilogy brought the drama, if not the workrate if I dare say so. The climatic duel on ROTS brought both the drama AND the workrate IMO, so I'll give it a good 'ol ****1/2 to boot, but I'll leave it to Lushus to provide the play-by-play and his own rating. What do you say, Lushus? Feel like channelling Scott Keith again? -
Well, after an incredibly well-played first set Martina Hingis succumbed to Clijsters on two sets. Too bad, because I really wanted for Hingis to reach at least the semis. You could see that her style of playing is totally different from the rest of the power-hitting pack. A sight for sore eyes, as they say. Now Clijsters will probably face Henin-Hardene on the semis. BTW, Venus and Safina are out. Valdisova vs Kuznetsova? I have no idea. Federer vs Ancic is going on now. Roger is up 3-2 on the first.

Reissue of D-X DVD (with extra matches)
pochorenella replied to pochorenella's topic in The WWE Folder
IIRC I think the match is an extra on the Monday Night War DVD. yep Duh. I have that DVD and I totally forgot about that match. Anybody get the DX dvd yet? My order from WWEShopzone is late 'cause they're sold out on the Backlash DVD (go figure) but hopefully it'll be shipped soon. -
WWE sent a press release confirming the purchase of both Kevin Von Eric's World Class video library and Stu Hart's Calgary Stampede video library. They also announced an international "Classics" TV show.
