Sorry, Sensei. Guess I just read your question and disregarded the rest. Still, my opinion stands. XFL failure notwhistanding.

Savage did, and did it better. He has three of Warrior's four best matches ever. But then, I assume this feud is coming up a lot later. When you say Savage has three of Warrior's four best matches ever I assume one of those is their Champion vs Champion match at MSG that's on the Wrestling Superheroes tape? I really like that match.

The only SD! guys that are not otherwise engaged for Mania that are over/credible enough to be placed in the MITB are Hardy and Booker. Lashley I figure will be placed pretty much by default. Also, you need a big, powerful guy a la Kane last year, so he fits the bill. I agree with Hawk regarding Matt Hardy. Give him a slight push, reference his ladder match experience and he shouldn't be hard to accept as a contender. The Mexicools and MNM could bring the highspots and the big bumps but I'd rather put them in a Tag Title match as I mentioned before.

Thomas Haden Church cast as villain for Spider-Man
pochorenella replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
Damn, I have no idea if that's Venom or the Lizard, but color me intrigued. -
It's the WWE we're talking about, my friend. Lots of people here want to watch it fail miserably, see Vince go bankrupt and Triple H suffer a career-ending injury. Then they'll be happy. The way I see it, SNME used to be so loved back in the day partly because you got to see the established stars face each other, which you didn't see on TV that often, if at all. I know that when I watched the SuperStars TV show most that I got to see where jobbers being squashed. SNME meant Hogan vs a big heel. It meant Savage vs Hogan with special ref Buster Douglas. It meant Rockers vs Brainbusters. It had that big-time aura that just wasn't prevalent on any other WWF show at the time. Now we have RAW and SD! every week and we're used to seeing this kind of matches all the time. So I figure it'll be a disappointment in the sense that it won't have that big-time feeling, but if the show is good nonetheless then I'll be satisfied.

Maybe they're thinking that a casket match makes it less predictable? I don't know. Either way it is a poor choice of opponent for Taker, but maybe they'll step up. Lashley vs Finlay sounds interesting but I'm not sure about making it to Mania. Lashley could be a good addition to the MITB match. Hardy is a must for that match, IMO. If you have to do Animal vs Hardy please make it on SNME and put Matt on the MITB match already. MNM vs Kendrick/London at Mania could be sweet but I figure the Mexicools have more of a chance of making it to the Mania card, that is, if MNM are placed at Mania at all. I think they deserve to be. How about a three-way for the Titles? MNM vs Spanky/London vs Mexicools could have potential to be a show-stealer. Looking forward to this week's Velocity and Benoit vs Helms.

Remember when Goldberg jackhammered that motherfucker? That's 10x more impressive than an F5 or FU. That's when Big Show (or the Giant, for that matter) was AT LEAST 100 to 125 pounds less heavier. I mean, he was relatively in shape at that time. Now he's obviously bigger (or fatter, whichever you prefer.)

1000 Reasons why Late Night with Conan O'Brien
pochorenella replied to The Mandarin's topic in Television & Film
239. Triumph The Insult Comic Dog celebrates the Chinese New Year in New York's Chinatown. 2006 IS the Year of The Dog, you know... 240. "Conan on the Aisle - Oscar 2006 Edition." Before "Brokeback Mountain", John Wayne and Clint Eastwood did a homosexual cowboy movie... -
The IC Title is not an important part of Wrestlemania anymore. There hasn't been an IC Title match at Wrestlemania since X8. Seems silly to me. Hasn't been an IC title match worth a damn since 2000. I think a few come to mind after 2000: Jericho vs Benoit, RR2001 Jericho vs Benoit vs Guerrero vs X-Pac, NWO2001 Van Dam vs Guerrero, Ladder match RAW 2002 Just off the top of my head...

I got a nice chuckle out of that. Would anyone care to show it? Funny, but I'm confused. I'm a huge DBZ fan but you mean he turns into a monkey or something? Super Saiyan 3 is the last stage with the blond hair. Super Saiyan 4 goes with black hair, tail, and fur. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I want to punch James Blunt right in the fucking face
pochorenella replied to UZI Suicide's topic in Music
What, no love for "One", people? Back on topic, I like that James Blunt song. It's the only song of his I've heard so far. And just to push the knife further, after being #2 for three weeks "You're Beautiful" is now YOUR new #1 song according to Billboard's Top 100 Singles. -
One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
pochorenella replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
Yeah, I like the new trilogy for the most part. There's redeeming qualities to each movie like the light-saber fights, Palpatine, Obi-Wan, etc. But I honestly think the people's expectations set the bar extremely high, and realistically few creators could have met those expectations without disappointing a lot of folks. -
Thomas Haden Church cast as villain for Spider-Man
pochorenella replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
Sorry, I'm going to turn this into a comics nerd thread. That's such bullshit. Venom was fucking terrific until the end of ASM #375 in the SM continuity. From the start of his own series, they ruined him, but Venom was created in 1988, and Marvel was desperate to create another viable character (let's be real, the last American comic character who was big is Wolverine, created in 1974.) Venom was seriously overeposed. Past that he was written like shit, but so was every single Marvel character. Venom was never supposed to be a 'dumb muscle guy.' He was fucking crafty, and malicious. Look at his second and fourth ASM appearances. He fucks with Peter right in front of Aunt May, plays cat and mouse with SM and ALWAYS wins that game, and in general just enjoys fucking with SM without threatening his family (which is an important difference from the Osbornes) The main problem is Venom was created in 1988, overexposed from the get-go (since he was very popular), and then fell victom to terrible mid-90's Marvel writing, which affected every character. EDIT: One thing that's for sure is that Eddie Brock's origin was complete shit. They did it MUCH better in Ultimate SM, and I think that sort of motivation is what they're going with with Topher. In that regards, I say fucking go for it. Yeah, I probably should have said "what a shitty character he bacame." Marvel torched him in the 90's so badly that the character leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That's why I'd rather see a new take on the character, more of a 'mirror Spiderman' AND a 'mirror Peter Parker.' I've actually never gotten into Ultimate Spider-Man, so I don't know if that version of Venom is viable or not. The USM version of Venom is extremely viable IMO, specially if you want to translate it to the big screen. It connected Brock and Peter as childhood friends somewhat and that their parents worked on this "Venom Project" which consisted of an organic suit that could cure the human body's diseases enhancing its natural healing abilities. It sounds more down to earth than the regular 616 Marvel Universe origin and the cartoon origin (which is extremely cool BTW.) -
And the Smackdown ME for Mania is...
pochorenella replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
To be fair to him, I agree. For me a Mania main event should always be a one on one match between the two hottest things at the time. Now, to be fair Orton Vs Angle wouldn't have been that anyway and I think HHH Vs Cena would have overshadowed it regardless of the fact that it'll suck and Orton/Angle would have been better. Warrior Vs Hogan, Hogan Vs Savage, Hogan Vs Andre, Bret Vs Shawn, Austin Vs Rock, these are the things going into the show that Mania main events should be. Again this year, there's none of that in the main event slot really. HHH Vs Cena is far from a dream match and the other one's a triple threat between three guys, who with no combination of two from those three, would make a dream match either. Triple H vs Michaels vs Benoit was a classic way before the Unbreakable match, and it main evented WrestleMania XX. But for the most part I agree that one-on-one matches are preferable for so grand a stage. Still, Angle's had a couple of great 3-way matches before with completely different opponents so he can pull it off, but I understand him wanting a singles match better. -
Thomas Haden Church cast as villain for Spider-Man
pochorenella replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
It just looks like the street below to me. I have it on full enlarge and it doesn't look like anything but an alleyway to me. Then of course it could be nothing. Could be people seeing things where there's nothing, like when some swore they saw Boba Fett on Episode I. -
The last DVD to have THAT was the SummerSlam DVD, which had the Cena vs Jericho rematch in clip form, and the aftermath with Jericho being fired and Kurt Angle jumping on Cena.
-
It's been quite a while since WWE put any extra matches on PPV DVDs, and I think that sucks. The last one I think was on the Unforgiven DVD with the 8-man tag from RAW (quite a great match IMO.) Come on, WWE! At least give us the Sunday Night Heat matches!

Thomas Haden Church cast as villain for Spider-Man
pochorenella replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
There's already some especulation regarding what's the reflection in Spidey's eye. Some say it's Venom's face, while others say it's an image of somebody holding a person up in arms. Guys? -
Weird. Somebody at WWE.com is not aware of the spoilers, I'm afraid. Wonder if all this "Helms must defend his title against all comers" stuff is leading up to a WM Title defense against a mistery opponent like, say, Jushin Liger?

Is Christian only wrestling on PPVs now? I know he wanted a lighter schedule but come on! He hasn't wrestled since he won that damn title. Is he channeling Hulk Hogan or something? And he doesn't even appear for the second show? Christian may be the champion, but Jeff Jarrett remains TNA's star and focal point.

The One and Only Raw Thread for February 27th, 2006
pochorenella replied to Art Sandusky's topic in The WWE Folder
Yes, I see your point, HTQ. More high-profile and recognizable names would no doubt help TNA get stronger, and that would make for better competition, and that would make Vince and Co. possibly think harder and come out of the "funk" they're supposedly in at the moment. But what guarantees that these high-profile and recognizable names would make a dent on their new promotion? What guarantees they'll be used correctly as so to make new stars or whatever? For example, I know tons of people are complainin that smark favorite CM Punk signed with WWE and is now working OVW. Why couldn't he sign with TNA? He was there already! Doing tag matches in a feud with Raven, that certainly put him over. Some want Jericho to go to TNA. To do what? To win their World Title? I'm sure most would want him to put over talent, so in short, that means to job most often than not, which no doubt few would like. TNA's got Sting to a big money deal. Yipee. So far he's wrestled once and announced his retirement. Boy, he's making a great job putting over new talent while sitting at home counting his money for doing next to zip. Others wanted Foley to sign with TNA. That's all good and dandy. He's a star who's still got it in the ring when he wants to, although reading some posts here you wouldn't be able to tell, and he could be put to use to put over other upcoming stars, specially somebody like Samoa Joe. I for one think that Joe is doing extremely well right now without Foley's help. It seems like the cool thing to do now is to bash anybody and everybody that prefers signing with WWE over any other promotion because "everybody" knows that WWE isn't cutting it anymore and is going down the drain. God forbid Jericho returns to WWE, else he be bashed to the ground like there's no tomorrow. Foley signed with WWE, not TNA. Deal with it. He could've done some interesting things in Orlando but he's not. That doesn't make him an idiot. He'll be in a high-profile match with Edge at WrestleMania. Maybe some consider that the stupid thing to do for whatever reason. I do not. I still enjoy Foley wether he's in WWE or not, and will be watching him at Mania this year. Sorry for the rant. Maybe I'll qualify again for TSM brings the idiocy or something. -
