If that is the final matchlist then I'll pass. I already have the "Hulk Still Rules" set and the new Mania DVDs which feature the majority of the matches listed here, not to mention the SSlam 2005 DVD. Only the first disc and part of the third disc sound intriguing.

What fans are you talking about? I read he got a monster pop last night, in Canada of all places. Or didn't he? Like I said on the Rumble thread, I don't know how it came out on TV but I was in attendance and Cena got monster pops both at the Rumble and at RAW the next night. Sure, he got some boos, but he is over, without question. Cena's Over with women and young kids...But the overall fanbase sees through him...He's a shitty worker with a neutered gimmick instead of being a cocky and brash thug which originally got him over...Now he's just some white guy trying to be a Clean cut goody goody rapper/thug....it doesn't work...But his punches are improving. You're right in saying that Cena is mostly over with kids and women. Hell, after his match on RAW vs Edge a couple of weeks ago there were two hot girls on the entranceway practically throwing themselves at him, and the lucky bastard made out with both. One of them got lots of TitanTron time. But then again, there were lots of DUDES with Cena T-shirts and spinning belt replicas (both US and WWE titles), so it's fair to say he's got male fans too. It's not that I'm a Cena fan or anything, far from it. I find his wrestling style to be kinda phony, knowing he's got a larger moveset than the one he displays. But I find it amusing that a lot of people are deaf to the pops he gets (which have been pretty consistent since the night after NYR) and seem only able to hear the small group of guys that boo him.

I've never read any Alan Moore stuff other than Watchmen and I wasn't all that impressed with it, to be quite honest. Now I got that new DC collection (glad I passed on the previous version) and I've read a few things like the Last Superman story (great read), and the Killing Joke (good but not spectacular IMO.) It is amazing how he manages to make all the obscure, lesser-known characters quite interesting, like in those Green Lantern stories. I haven't cast my vote yet but after I finish reading the collection I'll be able to have a definitive opinion.

I think it was last season, when she was talking to Lana about having sex or not. She said she lost her virginity to a guy named "Jimmy" when she went to Metropolis and was an intern at the Daily Planet.

Alro has been doing a great job uploading important matches, but I certainly wouldn't mind you doing it too, Downhome.

I bought in on Best Buy on the day of release for $16.99, which I think is a pretty sweet price. I haven't seen it yet but hopefully will soon. It'd be nice to read reviews/opinions for the set from the guys here in the meantime.

Actually, I read that Eddie's DVD sold poorly when originally released. When RVD's DVD came out it completely outsold it within a few days. Of course now Eddie's DVD has been selling again but I'm not sure about the numbers. I'm not saying it's the lowest-selling non-PPV set, but the low numbers really surprised me.

Probably because he wrote the story himself.

I'm mostly old school so my all-time fave is Jack "The King" Kirby. His style just drew me in like no other before or since. Other favorites of mine are George Perez, John Buscema, and somewhat more recent guys like Alex Ross, John Romita jr., Jim Lee, and Carlos Pacheco.

Been skimming through the various threads for RR2006 and RAW the next night, and since I was there live let me just assure you that the pops John Cena got on both nights were just GIGANTIC, specially at RAW. Of course, there was some dual chanting at the Rumble for both Cena and Edge, but make no mistake about it, Cena was the most over guy on both nights, followed closely by Rey, the Undertaker and RVD (specially at the Rumble), in no particular order. I'm not sure how it came off on TV but by reading the various threads it seems that people think that Cena is getting booed out of the building or something.

Thanks for posting, Duke. BTW, I used part of your post to update the Armageddon Buyrate thread. I got chills...they're multiplying...

WWE Gets Good News In Armageddon Buyrate
pochorenella replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
Just an update on the post. SummerSlam is now up to 640,000 buys according to Meltzer, which makes it the 2nd highest buy for SSlam ever, after SS98, at least according to WON. Now SSlam05 beats the Rumble and goes 2nd place for the year after Mania. (Thanks to Duke The Dog for his post.) Not bad for a Main Event comprised of a non-drawing HBK and a way, waay past-his-prime Hogan. -
I thought Uma looked rather messed-up in "Batman and Robin". Sure, she looked messy when she was plain Dr. Ivy, but when she transformed into Poison Ivy she looked smoking hot.

I vote Bendis at this time. I'm really enjoying New Avengers and of course Ultimate Spider-Man, so those two beat Ultimates 2, even if the latter is one of the best I've read in a while. Haven't read enough Brubaker to make an educated decision, just a little Cap and the first "Deadly Genesis" issue, but if he's been given Uncanny along with DareDevil then I might have to track down more of his stuff.

Wizard spill the beans on DC One Year Later
pochorenella replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Literature
Carlos Pacheco is such a great artist, I'm happy he's having the opportunity to draw one of the greatest Icons in comics, even if I don't like the character. I know he already did Supes with an arc for Batman/Superman and that JLA/JSA mini, but I figure this'll be his new regular gig. Is he dropping Green Lantern? -
Nice report, cawthon. Sounds like a good house show. I've been very impressed with Brent Albright's work from OVW, so hopefully I'll catch them on a Heat/Velocity or dark match for the Orlando Supershow the monday after the Royal Rumble.

Free tickets for 1/24 Smackdown taping
pochorenella replied to GreatWhiteNope's topic in The WWE Folder
I had limited view seats for WMX-7 and the only problem I had was that there was a monitor in my line of sight but not too bad. I'm sure the "limited view" conditions differ from venue to venue so you never know, but from what I gather it shouldn't be too much of a problem. -
I did notice it was Candice as soon as I saw the movie. Maybe it was mentioned in the Movies folder or something. Yes, she looks very good, for the little time she shows on screen.

Just MY OPINION, but I believe there's a couple of 2002 TV matches that are just a tad better than the Fatal Four-Way, even if I agree said match is absolutely fantastic, but not the best TV match of 2002 or best TV match ever. I'd say: - Edge vs Eddie Guerrero, No DQ match from SD! - Eddie Guerrero vs RVD, IC Title Ladder match from RAW - Edge/Rey vs Angle/Benoit, 2/3 falls WWE Tag Titles from SD! Still, I wouldn't mind interchanging any of them as all four matches are awesome, so we all win here. But I do think there have been better TV matches before. Austin/HBK vs Owen/Bulldog and Austin/HHH vs Benoit/Jericho come to mind.

Uma looked hot in both movies, shitty as they are. I love Uma.

Here's a full report taken from PWInsider.com. This guy seems to have enjoyed the show quite a lot so maybe Meltzer's source was an anti-WWE guy.

I own the Attitude Era Belt, I bought it from WWE Shopzone back in the day, and have been itching to buy the Undisputed WWE Belt (the one Brock Lesnar had) but haven't found the right excuse/justification to shell out that money. I have seen guys at shows with up to THREE replica belts on them, so I have to think there might be some people out there willing to spend big money on somewhat-real championship belts. Would I get one? No way. I'll stick to the replicas, thank you.

WWE already toured Mexico last year with the SD! brand so Rey already competed there with his mask on. I don't recall reading that he was booed or anything of that sort so there's no reason to think he'd get booed at this time but let's wait for some reports to come in to be sure. As far as Rey's chances for a World Title match at Mania, they seem very slim at the time. We'll have to see.

Sure, I don't think the Hulk is gonna go around eating people and looking for Freedie Prinze jr. to kick his ass, or Iron Man having drink after drink and announcing he has a brain tumor. Still, some scenes seem taken right out of the comic, like Hulk lunging at Giant Man and stuff like that. I read an article on Wizard magazine and they had some scenes taken from the movie side by side with comic book panels and they looked faithful. Also I don't expect Bryan Hitch's art style on the movie either. I'm refering mostly to the basic plot and storyline of the Ultimates. That can be easily adapted I think, but don't expect a 2 hour movie to include every little detail of a 12 issue mini-series.
