    Jake 'The Snake' Roberts DVD

Finally watched the DVD last night, and damn if it wasn't a total attention-grabbing main feature. Initially I dismissed this set because I was never a big Jake fan and I didn't find his matches that appealing to begin with. But after watching that main feature I have to give it the thumbs up all the way. I never realized how Jake had all the little things that mattered come so naturally to him and how he applied them inside the squared ring without breaking a sweat. Of course, his personal life and tale of tragedy, triumph and everything in between is nothing short of gripping and I couldn't help but feel bad somewhat for him in light of how Wrestling With Shadows portrayed him. I haven't seen the second disc yet but I'll do so either tonight or tomorrow. Bottom line, another great, solid effort from WWE video.

The only finisher I'm ever using if I ever become a wrestler is the Vertebreaker.

    Your sexiest music videos?

That one is "Take a Bow". I remember going absolutely crazy for the "Open Your Heart" video, the one were all this guys are on the private booths and pay to see her dance and stuff.

    Your sexiest music videos?

I think she has gained weight since her "Genie in a Bottle" days, but I do think it's been for the better. Ditto for her breast implants, they're not that big so she looks great. I think I have to mention several Jennifer Lopez videos as being damn sexy. I realize a ton of people are rather sick of her at this time but she remains a favorite of mine in the sexyness department. Some I have to mention are "Waiting for Tonight", the original version for "Ain't it Funny" (not the hip-hop version), and "I'm Glad" (the Flashdance tribute video). Those three are all pretty good for jerking off.

    Your sexiest music videos?

I agree. I may be in the minority but I'd take Christina over Britney any day of the week. I find her sexier than Mrs. Federline without a second thought. Except for that "Toxic" video, damn. As for Shakira videos, I'd go with "Obsession (Tango)" as her sexiest, along with "Ojos Así" (with her shaking her ass like on Ripper's avatar.) When she dances like that I'm just glued to the screen. On the other hand, those last couple of videos like "La Tortura" and the new one really don't do much for me. On the Kylie Minogue front, "Come into My World" does nothing for me, but "Can't Get You Out of My Head" is the shits, even if I hate the song. And "Red Blooded Woman" is pretty sexy too.

Local New Year's Revolution Ad (Spoilers)

Yes, and only four of them are dual brand. Well, 5 if you count the ECW PPV, but that's something totally different. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of the 4 dual brand only 2 are worth money: Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think SummerSlam most of the time is also a big money maker, especially this year's which I believe was the second most succesful PPV behind Mania. Survivor Series is hit or miss mostly.

Just Watched the Bret Hart DVD

FWIW, I got my DVD from FYE.com and didn't get any of the roumored freebies, no hat, no extra disc, nothing. It's safe to say this is the first and last time I order from these guys.

Those two blonde bitches really need their comeuppance. After 3 wins as Project Manager Randall proves he's the man. Hopefully he doesn't screw up on the final stages.

    Pat Morita dead at 73

Right. Dying of natural causes, don't we all wish to go quietly like that? I'll never forget the Karate Kid movies. "Wax on, wax off", "Daniel-san, Banzai!" and that healing thingie he did with his hands, awesome. R.I.P.

What about Elijah Burke? I've heard great things about him. Wasn't he a former cop or something?

So what exactly is the World Champion "look"? Is there a standard to be followed? In size, body shape/weight? Overall looks?

    Armageddon main event revealed!

So now we're back to asking wrestlers to take the huge bumps after basically demanding WWE to ease their schedule/workload so they can be less supceptible of drugs/painkillers or whatever they are taking to get by. I for one don't think a huge bump is needed for a HIAC match to be deemed great. Examples are Lesnar vs Taker and HHH vs Michaels. Tons of blood, yes. Huge bump, not really, although it would be cool to see, no doubt. Some may have grown accustumed to seeing just that after the ones Michaels and Foley have taken. And didn't Orton do a decent bladejob for Backlash 2004? The fall in the tacks was pretty good. Ditto for when he was thrown off the ramp, followed by a Cactus Elbow from Foley for a close two-count. I think Orton can take the bumps if absolutely needed. Another issue is if the HIAC gimmick is being used too soon after Vengeance, although I don't agree it's even nearly as played out as the Ultimate X gimmick over on TNA. In fact, if it does happen, I do believe it'll be only the second time ever for the SD! brand.

    Armageddon main event revealed!

Pretty much. People jumped on the bandwagon is spectacular style the moment he landed in the thumbtacks at Backlash. The Evolution turn was met with mark outs from pretty much everyone on the board. But then the anti-Orton stuff started up as soon as his face run bombed and people jumped on that bandwagon. I've got no problems with Orton as a heel. He's hardly a 'terrible' wrestler like the 'haterz' say he is...infact, it's safe to say the people who don't like him over-react far more than those who do. I can't wait for him to win the title, if only for the bitchfest that'll commence here. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed on all counts. I remember tons of people on this board jumping on Orton's bandwagon at that time, and specially after the RAW following SummerSlam. They all marked out for the thumbs down thingie.

    Cover for Infinite Crisis #1

Also, you know, comic book sales. He IS the best villain ever, you know. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disagree. I think that Dr. Doom is by far the best villain of all. Then again, I'm mostly a Marvel fan so I might be biased. I do find the Joker better than Lex Luthor, though.

I'm sure some would start a thread on how they expect Kurt to show up on TNA soon after that.

Vince McMahon Institutes New Drug Policy

I think pushing them off a bridge and then saying it was suicide would be better. If someone wanted to commit suicide, using a sword would probably be pretty far down the list. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Point being he orders them to destroy their bodies each and every week with some highly dangerous matches and orders them to bulk up or else. Then he comes back shocked to discover that they abuse painkillers or roids like he is completely blameless in all of this. He'll just keep working them harder than ever in an environment where they aren't allowed to take time off unless they want their release and then he'll bitch at them when they start getting smaller. This isn't going to work until Vince's mindset on the design of a wrestler changes and until he adds some kind of rotation so these guys aren't in pain every minute of every day. This is all they will do, this is it. It's a "protect Vince, fuck you" move. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dude, I think you're going a bit over the top and overreacting. I agree that some kind of plan needs to be worked out where the wrestlers are allowed to take some time to heal and rest or something to ease their schedule, but it seems like some do not want to do just that because it hurts them financially or whatever other way. I say give Vince the benefit of the doubt, at least JUST THIS ONCE. I for one, think it's a step in the right direction. It may be a baby step on a looong list of needed steps, but it's a good one nonetheless. I'm willing to see where this'll lead to and not crucify Vince just yet.

The OAO Smackdown! Thread - 11/18/05

SmackDown's been getting 2.6 - 2.7 ratings for the past few weeks, so while it's an important increase I don't really see it as a major happening. Still, good numbers for Friday Night.
