    Bret Hart DVD!

The DVD didn't improve one bit with this new listing. The ONO match was just released on Taker's set a couple of months back, it makes no sense to include it again so soon. And the Nasty Boys match? If they wanted yet another Hart Foundation match why not include one with the Brainbusters instead, or maybe Bret/Owen vs Steiners? And there's only one of his Title wins? There's so many terrific stuff left out, and there's no Stampede stuff either. Maybe they'll show some footage on the main program, hopefully.

    JoeDirt's old school match thread

Sorry, NYU, I'd love to help but I have absolutely no idea how to do uploads or things of that sort, and I'm still on dial-up for my internet. Why don't you install Limewire? Seems to be the best for file-sharing at this time (Kazaa sucks IMO), and I'm sure you'll also find some other good stuff if you search around.

Comments which don't warrant a thread

JR kept calling him Carribean Cool Carlito so they decided it was too complicated for him and shortened it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They shortnened it long before he came to Raw. I think the change came when he was injured. They thought the name was too long to get the point across so they simply started calling hom Carlito. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think dropping "Carribean" would have been enough...keeping "Cool" makes more sense, since it ties directly into his gimmick... EDIT: didn't Ric Flair refer to him by his real last name, "Colon" (sp?), this past monday or was I hearing things? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes he did. You heard right.

    JoeDirt's old school match thread

I downloaded the 3-way from Unbreakable using Limewire. Pretty easy to find, actually. BTW, I was kinda underwhelmed with the match. Pretty good, but not the blow-away MOTY some seem to be pimping for, IMO.

    Bret Hart DVD!

I also hope it's the SurSeries 96 match. I already have them both on tape, but I want the SS match on DVD quality. I'll have the Mania one when I get the Anthology sets.

    Bret Hart DVD!

He wasn't. He faced Lawler. Hakushi was May IYH. And I hope they have the RAW match, not the IYH one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I also hope it's the RAW one. And what about that Owen match from September 29th? What match is it?

    Bret Hart DVD!

Sure that Bret vs Benoit match is the Owen Tribute? It could be a Stampede match or something like that. Yeah, I need dates and/or events mentioned to place this matches. The Austin match hopefully is the SurSeries 96 one. I'm surprised his first WWF Title win is not included as an extra, but maybe Bret didn't want Flair's mug on his DVD. Same for Shawn, as I hoped he'll put his first PPV WWF Title defense also, but I figure Bret wanted as little of Shawn as possible. Terrific lineup still. I'm getting this no matter what.

    Unforgiven buyrate

I was about to point that out, that in no way should WWE feel disappointed in Unforgiven's buyrate. The number is pretty healthy for the show and to compare it to SummerSlam's numbers is not fair, taking in consideration the difference in the cards, the amount of promotion, and the fact that SSlam was a co-brand show with a "Dream match" as main event. No Mercy looks good on paper, certainly better than Unforgiven, but I agree it's been poorly promoted. Maybe all the preemptions for the SD! show are hurting the chances for this show. I agree it'll be a small miracle if the show breaks 200,000 buys. Hopefully WWE'll be able to deliver a good show at least.

Jim Ross possibly leaving RAW announce team

Wait a minute, he's the lead announcer for UFC and He doesn't even know who Carlson Fuckin' Gracie is? Does he know who Dan Severn is, maybe? That's it, I don't even know who this dude is but he's on my hate list as of right now unless he shuts me up and fucking proves himself on WWE.

    Marvel = WWE

I kinda saw it back when it premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel IIRC so it wasn't really straight to video. To tell the truth, it didn't hold my interest that much, I kept flipping the channels thru a great part of the movie. Maybe if I catch it again I'll give it a decent chance. I've seen pretty much every comics-related movie except for the original F4 movie.

Who's winning the 2006 Royal Rumble?

Well, since I'm gonna be at the event then I hope at least he shows up.

Jim Ross possibly leaving RAW announce team

I really have no idea who the hell this Goldberg guy is, but I find it truly idiotic to bring in someone with zero knowledge of pro-wrestling and work on your highest-profile TV show right out of the gate, even if he's a terrific announcer. Maybe they'll give him a steady diet of WWE 24/7 and have him eat, breathe and sleep wrestling to have him ready for next monday. Or maybe JR can coach him via headphones like he did Michael Cole back in 98-99. But if the guy can't tell between Bob Orton or Randy Orton then have him stowed away until he learns the names, the moves, and the history. Josh Matthews IMO is a guy that could be brought up in the future to the main shows, but not at the moment 'cause he's too young and maybe too "smarky" for WWE at this moment. He knows the business and loves it, so he could be a good choice. But that's just my opinion.

Please, anybody but Schiavone. I absolutely loathe him.

Who do you guys miss the most

I really miss Rico. He was so ready for a decent push, even if he wasn't that young. In the ring he wrestled like a true veteran, watch his stuff from OVW and his match with Rey Mysterio if you don't believe me. Charlie Haas, can't say that I really miss him, but it was extremely unfair for him to get fired. No doubt he was misused terribly. And Matt Morgan had potential IMO, specially for such a big dude (remember he could F5 Big Show?). He could show up on TNA and be a monster. Just scrap that stuttering garbage.

    Raw en espanol

Maybe it's the same 1-hour version that they send to spanish-speaking markets in Central and South America, that's called RAW Internacional. That one's an edited version with new commentary done by Hugo Savinovich, Carlos Cabrera, and Marcelo Rodriguez, with each alternating on different weeks. The PPV shows they release to those markets are also done with a different commentary. ATANGANA! Edit: Well, if it goes for over an hour then it might not be the RAW Internacional one, just an edited RAW with the spanish commentary as the main one.

1000 Reasons why Late Night with Conan O'Brien

    187. Late Night with Conan O'Brien - The U2 Edition, coming October 7th. Conan interviews the band thruout the show, and they'll play 3 songs. Ok, so it hasn't happened yet, but I know it'll be awesome so I had to include it here.

    What Happened To The Mexicools?

Again, check the SD! spoilers or wait for Velocity and No Mercy this weekend. Things have changed, at least for those two shows.

What year did WWE start to lose their edge?

I really wanted to be nice and say 2003, since it was really a sub-par year in all aspects. But even though I love the Smackdown 6 period with all my heart (I was just watching stuff from August - November, absolutely top-notch), the emergence of Brock Lesnar as a main-eventer, the introduction of Team Angle, and somewhat regular cruiser action, I found 2002 to be the year that cemented the decline with a poor RAW show almost every week, the failed RVD push (thanks HHH), Rock's irregular schedule (although he was great for the times he showed), the Katie Vick crap, Chuck & Billy, and HHH being World Champ out of the blue. So even if WWE tried to salvage the damage by mid-late 2002 (specially on the SD! brand) the damage itself was to just too much to regain the viewership. 2003 was mostly terrible, 2004 was pretty good IMO.

    Monday's ratings are in and....

I read somewhere that WWE expected a 5.0 rating, so it's a little below expectations but I think it's a pretty good number. TNA Impact got a 0.8 on Saturday night. They expected a 1.0 but I believe they were quite pleased nonetheless. I expect a somewhat similar number for monday's showing, being a replay and all. Any info on the ratings for the RAW Exposed special? Either for saturday or monday?

Comments which don't warrant a thread

Anybody here seen Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton from WWE? It was a SD! show IIRC, and I'm trying to place the date so I can look for it on my tape library. Any help, please? EDIT: Nevermind, found it. It was the September 5th, 2002 SD! show.
