Honky Tonk Man rejects WWE "legends" deal
pochorenella replied to UZI Suicide's topic in The WWE Folder
Fuck him. I sure as hell don't want him on my TV, unless it's doing non-stop jobs. -
Just wanted to tack this news item here, being that it is happening at RAW tonight:
-
Very cool pics, Downhome. Hillbilly Jim looks like Randy Savage now.
-
Sorry, DM, my tape does include Virgil vs Nailz. It's the match was so fucking bad it must have erased from my mind. I'll edit my original post. I'm not from England but I read reports about the show and saw some pics on PWI or some other mag and realized there were missing matches. I had no idea about this when I got the tape, only when I saw those reports. It seems it's been common practice to delete matches from England-based shows, as they also did that on One Night Only and some other I may be forgetting.
-
SummerSlam 92 does not include Tito Santana vs Papa Shango. The match order is changed too, IIRC.
-
Beautiful-looking belt, no doubt, reminds me of those UFC belts. An improvement on the previous one, for sure. I still like WWE's Undisputed Title better.
-
I've only seen four movies from that list. Episode III gets my vote.

BrainBusters. Road Warriors.

THe OAO Last Raw on Spike TV Thread (09.26.05)
pochorenella replied to BHK's topic in The WWE Folder
So what about those Observer reports that said WWE and Spike reached a last minute agreement that allowed WWE to mention USA? Which is true then? -
I'm gonna go against the current here and say that SD! sounds like a fun show this week. And I can't be the only one that's actually enjoying the Batista/Eddie interaction, can I? I mean, Eddie's playing his little game but Batista's still too cool and calm as to not fall on his trap, rather trying to play his same game. I think is the correct and perfect way for him to act on this case, as the logical monster he is. I like it I must say. And the No Mercy card doesn't look that bad. Add a cruisers match and maybe Ken Kennedy and it could be pretty decent.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
pochorenella replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
Wonder what the hell happened to that ship. Did it get lost in the swamp or something? -
Come on, Saint Seya should be at least in the top ten <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed. Also, I demand that Mazinger Z be higher on the list. At least for international appeal, Mazinger has one of the biggest followings worldwide. Ranma 1/2 should be higher, too. And hopefully when they mention Dragon Ball they're including DBZ in there as well. Sad to say I've never seen either Tiger Mask series. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sell me on St. Seya please. The show looked promising from what I saw of the English dub. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> First of all, stay the hell away from the english dub. It is horrible. They should've left "Pegasus Fantasy" as the main theme. Also, I don't exactly recall the editing job they did, but I think they changed the color of blood or something like that, or they didn't show it at all. There are DVDs available which are uncut but unfortunately only cover the early part of the first saga IIRC (this is a LONG series) with Phoenix Ikki. The Powers-that-be recently announced that they're finally getting to work on the final part of The Hades saga (covering the last issues of the manga series) which fans have been clamoring for, since it's taken so damn long to be green-lit.

Show him a screencap of Cena wearing nothing but a thong from his DVD.

Is Bischoff winning the title in two weeks?
pochorenella replied to CBright7831's topic in The WWE Folder
Those points you make are quite possible. Even if I absolutely dread even the slightest notion of Eric Bischoff, WWE Champion (AAARGHHH!!), I admit it could be an inmense shocker for RAW's return to USA, and keeps up with the "anything can happen in WWE" motto that seems to have been a little ignored lately. Sincerely though, I hope to God it doesn't happen. But Bisch does need to trump Cena at least once to make the "feud" interesting, otherwise nobody'll buy that Bischoff is any kind of threat whatsoever to Cena. -
I just recently changed cellphones and I haven't downloaded any new ringtones, but my previous one had the following: Stone Cold's theme Europe - The Final Countdown The X-Files theme The Simpsons theme Star Wars theme Star Wars - Cantina Band Darth Vader's theme (Imperial March) Episode I - Duel of the Fates Luke Skywalker's theme

I second all of the above, an add Time Stand Still.

Who will have the better 30 Min. Iron Man Match?
pochorenella replied to Dangerous A's topic in The WWE Folder
Wildpegasus, that was an excellent argument you wrote there. Congrats. I feel "in-ring charisma" is definitely a big part of the many intangibles that I think can either make or brake a wrestling match. Crowd participation/heat - and I hope I don't offend anybody, but I'm not talking about those well-trained smarts conditioned to chant "this is awesome" or "match of the year" every 2 minutes - is no doubt preferable, same is a compelling storyline and/or buildup, characters you care about. Possibly even the actual setting, that being if it's a high-profile match on a big PPV or not. Take Rock vs Hogan from WMX-8. Without a doubt it is not regarded as a workrate or cientific masterpiece, but on that night, on that arena, with that crowd, on a WrestleMania card, it went beyond that and became something really special. Personally, I think that match in any other circumstance wouldn't be as highly regarded. -
THe OAO Last Raw on Spike TV Thread (09.26.05)
pochorenella replied to BHK's topic in The WWE Folder
I had always assumed that it was because of his receding hairline, which allowed the WWE to make an angle taking advantage of it (ala Angle). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Explain Shawn. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or Benoit for that matter. -
Who will have the better 30 Min. Iron Man Match?
pochorenella replied to Dangerous A's topic in The WWE Folder
Personally, I think the opposite is true. Benoit vs. HHH was the worst of all of those you mention, with HHH vs Rock being the best one. I would even go as far as to say it was one of the best matches of 2000. HBK vs Hart always spurs some neverending debate, as it is panned by the IWC but highly regarded by its participants and other wrestlers. -
RIP Don Adams. The Nude Bomb is an underrated classic.

Who will have the better 30 Min. Iron Man Match?
pochorenella replied to Dangerous A's topic in The WWE Folder
I will restrain from voting until HBK vs Angle III has been officially confirmed (quite possibly tonight), but it seems like a tough choice nonetheless. I really like Styles and Daniels (specially the latter) and from all accounts it seems their previous 30 min. match is the TNA MOTY so far (possibly along with Unbreakable's 3-way), although I have yet to see it (but I will when I get the X-Div. DVD). HBK vs Angle from Mania is my MOTY at this point, and I like their second encounter more with each new viewing, so I'm pretty confident they could at the very least maintain the quality level with a new match. The only downside I can think of are the inevitable commercial breaks on USA which could/will hurt the match. Anyways, I know which match I'm most eagerly waiting for, and that's HBK vs. Angle, so that's what I'm voting. -
Dynamite pins Tully after a flying headbutt. 3-D on Flyin' Bryan for the win. Doomsday Device on Dory. Bret pins Beautiful Bobby after a Hart Attack.

Survivor Series 94?ish Question Why HBK in match
pochorenella replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in General Wrestling
You are quite correct. I remember reading those arena reports PWI did back then, with Shawn vs Bret being reported a lot of times. They even did an article regarding Shawn's frustration over not being able to defeat Bret. And of course, that famous ladder match which actually was chronicled on WWF magazine with pictures and all. And that career record might not be that far off, as they even did the house show circuit before WMXII with Bret beating Shawn thanks to outside interference (either Owen or Bulldog maybe, don't quite remember now), but Shawn superkicking Bret anyways in the end. -

I'd die to see both of these. I never have.
