Ultimate Warrior speaks out about his upcoming DVD

I remember watching RAW and they were hyping that comic, saying it sold something like 800,000 copies, and then checking Wizard magazine for a few months and it was nowhere on the best selling charts.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread

Yes. EpIII took an estimated $610,000 this weekend for an overall cume of $377,118,000 to put it at #7 in the All/Time chart, displacing LOTR3. Although the movie did do less than expected this weekend, being the first time that EpII outgrossed it in the same comparable weekend. Still, I have faith it-ll do over $380 million.

    How do you remember

I remember him as one of the greatest wrestlers I have ever seen, in a period of time that he was putting great matches with a variety of opponents, but that unfortunately became a sad, bitter man, unable to come to terms with his own errors, and that still seems to live in paranoia. When I watch his matches I think of how great he is, how he made me appreciate a fine-quality wrestling match, and that his status as legend is assured. When I read any recent interview he gives I think of a sore loser and jealous, bitter, angry person that just needs to shut up and let it go.
  5. I love the Winged Eagle Belt (don't all eagles have wings??) as it represented an era when I first became a fan, and it's the belt that Shawn Michaels wore, but I like more the Attitude Era Belt. Bigger size, great design, and I have it on my throphies display. The Belt I like the most, though? The Undisputed WWE Title, around the time Rock and Brock wore it. Best all-around design IMO. And the 80s-to-mid-90s InterContinental Belt is also one of my favorites.

    WWE's PPV Schedule for 2005

Ok, so I'm making travel arrangements and it seems 100% certain that I'll be making it for SummerSlam this year. My other options were Survivor Series or whatever PPV they had for October depending on the city, but I managed to find a ticket (a nosebleed, unfortunately) for SSlam so I'll be there. Anybody else here going?

Let's discuss Late Night Talk Shows

I know it's still very early to mention this but I'm a bit worried about Conan taking over the Tonight Show, being that the earlier timeslot could prove a bit detrimental for Conan's comedic style. He's edgier than Leno (who just sucks IMO) so maybe they won't allow him to do some of the stuff he does now. Conan's always been my favorite of the Late shows and it'd be a shame if they cut his wings, so to speak, for the Tonight Show audience.

Man, between this DVD and those (rumored?) WrestleMania box sets and Bret Hart DVDs November is gonna be bankruptville for me.

WWE RAW 7/24/05 (Watertown, NY) Results

Hopefully they will keep doing Cena vs. Jericho at house shows to work out their kinks for the SummerSlam match. All I kept reading was HHH taking on Cena @ house shows, which worried me as I figured they weren't giving any importance to the SSlam bout. Seeing as Kurt has no official plan geared for SSlam, could they possibly be considering vs. Eugene as an alternative? Is there any room left for another match at the summer event?

    IPOD Help....

I have a somewhat similar problem. You know how Itunes is supposed to start up automatically when you connect your Ipod? Well, everything's been fine until today when I connected my Ipod to my computer via the USB cable and danm Itunes didn't start. In fact, it seems it doesn't recognize the device anymore. I doesn't charge, and I sure as hell can't edit my playlists. Any help, please?

    New WWE DVD's

I'll be getting the WM sets for 1-5, 6-10, and 11-15. I already have DVDs for 16 thru 21, and my VHS copies for all the other Manias (most of them original Coliseum Video releases, mind you) will be put in a safe as collector's items. Frankly, I wasn't a big Jake Roberts fan so I don't see the appeal for a DVD release, let alone a 3-disc set as the price seems to suggest. No truly memorable matches come to mind so I think I'll skip this one. The Warrior DVD I'm still on the fence. I need to see a chapter/match listing to make up my mind, and I figure it'll come soon since it's released in September. The Bret Hart set is a must-have for sure. I don't think it'll be entirely focused on the Montreal thing, even if the title is "Screwed", which was reported way back in January IIRC. As long as it has matches like WMX, WMXIII, his first Title win, maybe his first PPV Title defense and stuff like that I'll be happy.

    Legendary penciller Jim Aparo dies

Just read on newsarama.com that legendary penciller Jim Aparo was reported dead on Tuesday Morning, July 19, 2005. Mr. Aparo was 72 and died from complications relating to a recent illness. All Funeral arrangements will be a private ceremony for Family and Friends of Jim. Really sad news to me, as Aparo was one of my very early favorites, having come to love his work on several Batman titles, specially The Brave and The Bold. He also was artist for Batman in the "Death in the Family" issues were Jason Todd "died" with the fans vote, and also the famous "KnightFall" storyline were Bane broke Batman's back and Azrael had to replace him. R.I.P, Jim.

JLU Season 3 news and spoilers

Oh yeah, I've heard about that. It must have slipped my mind. Isn't "Epilogue" the episode that involves "the final fate of Batman"? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So that two-parter Luthor/Brainiac story is not the season finale? Sorry, I really thought it was. Is "Epilogue" the one with Batman from the future? It was good, but I would have preferred the previously mentioned episodes as season closers. They had more of an epic feel to them.

JLU Season 3 news and spoilers

Just saw the final episode for last season and it was top-notch stuff. I'm happy that Flash finally got to be major hero in this final episode, and in fact, the whole Season has been awesome. Can't wait for Season 3.

    {Spoilers} House Of M

Basically, the Scarlet Witch has shaped Earth in a way that the mutants are the superior race over the humans with Magneto beign the absolute ruler using other mutants as his Cabinet, Police, whatever. Guys like Dr. Doom (a non-mutant) are somehow allowed to have some sort of position of power but as of right now he seems rather unhappy and you know he'll vie for some coup pretty soon. Supposedly, most of the heroes have gotten their "heart's wishes", meaning that they're living totally different lives than what we've known. For example: Peter Parker is married to Gwen Stacy (who obviously didn't die) and have a baby. Some heroes are dead (Mr. Fantastic) and some others have come back to life (Hawkeye), while Captain America is an old man. Wether this means the return of Clint on the regular continuity is unclear since Bendis states this isn't an "alternate reality" but is happening right now. Also, the only person who seems to have memory of what previously happened is Wolverine, who now has complete recollection of his past life, including his James Hewlett (sp?) Origin, probably as this was his heart's wish. Wolvie is the only one that knows something's going on. Hopefully I've explained this nicely, please feel free to add/correct anything here.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread

Spider-Man 2 is within reach this weekend or monday at the latest, so look for ROTS to be #8 on the All-Time list by then. ROTK will be bumped a notch more towards the end of ROTS's run, as I expect the movie to end up firmly at #7 with over $382 million at least. Too bad there's no IMAX release for it, as Batman Begins has made a ton of money there, so it would've reached $400 million with ease. Still, with all the movies due for a 3-D re-release by 2007 I certainly expect a new shifting of positions in the All-Time ranks. Maybe the majority of the films within the Top 10? There's 3 of them already there (ANH, TPM, ROTS) so it's a big possibility.
  21. Start speculating on what matches will/should appear on Angle's set. And what about this Fully Loaded DVD for December? That should be Survivor Series projected date, and I thought that show was scrapped for this year? Anybody has any info on this?

If I didn't know any better I'd think this was all real. Great job from all involved in making this a compelling storyline.

So anybody pick up issue #3 yet? A deceased fan-favorite character appears to be back. The cover alone gives it away.

    HBO or CINA MAX

Shauna O'Brien's rack is like a trainwreck, horrible but you can't stop staring. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shauna O'Brien used to be one of my favorites but she's really taken a turn for the worse lately. Those huge implants keep things going but fake tits can only go so far before it gets boring. Now I concur on the Nikki Fritz love, but I haven't seen her in any new stuff lately. Talk about a woman that really looks like she enjoys her work, she would be a perfect fit for real porn. Kim Dawson may be older than the other women mentioned, but give me those natural, God-given breasts any day of the week. One of my all-time favorites.

I thought the first two Blade films were pretty kick-ass. The third was pretty bland.
