I was planning on buying the DVD regardless of the extras. A third disc with the HOF ceremony sounds nice, but I can see how many people could be dissappointed that it wasn't released as a separate set. Seeing as last year's HOF DVD was so well received it would be expected that a new one with this year's inductees would be better received with all the potential match extras that could've been included.

Cena did do the FU differently at WM, almost like a DVD, just not quite. Still, that's way better than how he does it most of the time. I think JBL should've kicked out of the first FU but a second one should've been it. After all, JBL did kick out of Show's Chokeslam, Eddie's Frog Splash, etc. Also, I haven't seen Cena do the throwback in quite a while. Has he dropped it? That's a cool looking move IMO. I also like how Cena goes to the crowd. People love that stuff, and it helps him stay over.

For the RAW and Smackdown tapings on April 18 the pre-sale Password is SUPERSHOW. Damn, I was THIS CLOSE of being in NY at those dates, instead I'll be in Miami and not make it to NY until a week later. Just my luck.

The Mighty Ducks rule, you fools. Go, Coach Bombay!

Cool info on the new DVDs. The Road Warriors set I'm getting no matter what, but the 80's Stars DVD I'm gonna have to check the match list first. Too much Junkyard Dog or Hacksaw Duggan would certainly kill it for me.

Nice cover. Wether it's a 2 or 3 disc set, deepdiscountdvd is the way to go. Less than $21 for the set is a no-brainer.

That sounds a little expensive, specially if what you're ordering are the softcover versions. I think you can do better price-wise, maybe on amazon.com or somewhere else. Now, regarding the book itself, I found it pretty darn enjoyable, but nowhere near the ga-ga level that some people might express. The whole "Jim Lee draws Batman!" is/was blown WAY out of proportion by the die-hard fanbase. Granted, the art is spectacular (I'm a big Jim Lee fan myself) and no doubt is what drew those tremendous sales numbers for the entire run. Now compare to Jim Lee's run in Superman: the first couple of issues were huge sales-wise, but the title has fizzled and surely will settle at its usual sales level (read: poor) afterwards. Bottom Line, Lee is what made the series a smash. Don't be fooled by the commercial success. But don't get me wrong. Jeph Loeb does a tremendous job in writing a compelling story that has many twists and turns. and gives a lot of focus to many characters of the Bat-family. Batman's decisions throuout the series could be somewhat questionable for his character, but they seem widely accepted by now. I won't spoil anything in case somebody hasn't read it, but the Jason Todd thing and the final revelation are quite pleasant surprises. It's a fine story, but I'm sure there are quite a few better out there. I'd recommend it, no doubt. Just not highest recommendation, yet. I'm sure other greater Bat-fans on the board can give a better analysis, though. Just my two cents.

My God. What, did you actually count how many people were standing up and applauding? I've read other reports where they say it was a big ovation. And where did you get that Benoit-esque crap? Do you think Benoit is the only wrestler who can get spontaneous ovations? Why not say Edge&Christian-esque while we're at it. They also got a huge standing O after their ladder match at No Mercy99. He tried to get the ovation? Does standing up and appauding to the crowd qualifies as that? You just sound bitter at Michaels or something.

Who here has gone to a Wrestlemania?
pochorenella replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in The WWE Folder
I have three Manias under my belt: 2000, X-7, and XX. Each of them have been awesome experiences I'll never forget. I seem to be tied with some other guy that also has three. -
Is this another April Fool's Day news flash?

Great read, Sass. Just as well since I use to check Diamondcomics.com for my monthly fix for Comic Book sales charts and I've been unable to make the link work for the past month.

So anybody catch Big Show with Conan? Pretty funny stuff all around, with Show talking about his car rental problems, plane seats accomodations, and a funny story about the Japanese tour where he basically told he once had to take a crap in one of those minuscule japanese hotel bathrooms and half his body was sticking out of the bathroom itself. He had to crap in a sideways manner and he was so frustrated he slapped the wall and it fell to the hall. Some girl had to come and put like a curtain in front of him or something. They also show a clip with Big Show vs Conan O'Brien in the new WM21 video game. Conan was a really skinny red-headed guy with Val Venis' moveset. He cheapshoted him the whole match and gave him the Money Shot. Terrific stuff.

WrestleMania is the kind of show that always gets me psyched no matter what, and this year is no exception. Maybe a bit less than other times when I was there live (2000, X-7, XX), but it's hard not to get hyped when matches like Kurt vs HBK or Eddie vs Rey are happening on the grandest stage of them all. And if moments such as last year's Benoit/Eddie celebration or the Evo vs Rock&Sock fun-fest happen again then It's times like these that I'm so happy to be a wrestling fan.

I didn't like The Village, and I can understand all the negative sentiments towards it. How the movie was marketed when it came out has very much to do with the abismal reactions it had/has, even though it made over $100 at the BO so it's not really a bomb. Trying to pass it as a horror period piece was totally wrong. Sorry, Ripper. The only good thing I got watching that movie was my lady friend huggin' me all the while 'cause she was so scared. Sings seems to get the most mixed reactions. It's second only to Sixth Sense at the Box Office, but still gets panned a lot. Me? I liked it, I own it on DVD, and I like the WarOfTheWorlds-esque solution at the end. I see it more as a movie about a man trying to find back his way, to regain his faith. I guess others see it as a bad sci-fi/suspense movie. Sixth Sense I liked, the twist ending caught me totally off-guard in a good way. Haley Joel Osment is a terrific actor, no question. And all those details about the color red in the movie really makes you figure out a lot of things on second viewing. Unbreakable is no doubt my favorite of the bunch. I also own it on DVD, and maybe is my love of comic-books talking but I think the movie works on so many levels. Take a closer look at the color representations, too, and you'll see the attention for detail on this one. The so-called twist ending is anything but that, it's just an ending, period. A terrific ending, mind you. That's my two cents.

Is the 2005 PWI Wrestling Almanac out yet?
pochorenella replied to haws bah gawd's topic in General Wrestling
I'll be on the lookout for it, too. I have the first edition and all the editions from the past 4 years. And the funny thing is I never find them in the same place as the year before. They always seem to pop out in the weirdest of places, one time on a subway stand, another on a major bookstore, another on a grocery store, etc. -
If Luke knew who Anikan really was

That's too bad, 'cause the Clone Wars series is kicking ass. -
Lucas to Release Star Wars 3-D films in 2007

Hey, the man offered an action figure for a character that wasn't even in the movie when it originally came out (I'm talking about Boba Fett.) -

I think I remember some generic names for the toys when they came out, they didn't have the proper names or anything. The "Hammerhead" figure might be the one you're referring to. The alien Obi-Wan maimed was "Walrus Man", and so on. -
So HHH's version of the belt is a straight center plaque and not curved? Please specify.

Another vote for the Team Angle gear. Randy Savage's robes were also pretty cool. And what, no love for the Legion of Doom's spiked gear? That shit was COOL.

Possible Wrestlemania spoiler on Radio Show
pochorenella replied to UZI Suicide's topic in The WWE Folder
Possible brand-swapping between Champions? I can see it happening, Batista to SD! and Cena to RAW in the draft.
