    WWE House Show Results

Just got back not too long ago. What a loaded show. I can't believe I paid $25 for a live show with a better card than most $35 PPVs they had this last year. Edge vs Shelton Benjaman for the IC title great opener. Edge got good heat. Shelton wins with the T-bone. Victoria vs Trish for the Women's title. Trish came out in a neckbrace and sold it for the begining of the match. She eventually ripped it off and pinned Victoria after she missed a top rope moonsault. Coach comes out and welcomes Hawaii's own Don Muraco. Coach informs us that he is a winner and Muraco is a loser. Muraco punches Coach. Eddie Guerrero and Rey Misterio vs Bashams for the WWE titles. real good match. Eddie was especially great. He untied the tag rope and moved it to the middle. Crowd ate it up. Bashams got DQed after one of them hit Rey's knee with a chair to block the 619. Maven vs Batista Maven came out and complained he wasn't in the Rumble. He called Batista a gorilla which brought out batista to a superstar reaction. Maven jumped Batista while posing. One spinebuster and one powerbomb by Batista and thats all she wrote. JBL and Orlando Jordan vs big Show JBL was the only guy on the card to have little to no heat. He even had a limo.People were excited about Big Show's chops. Match was pretty much what you would expect. Big Show with a chokeslam on Jordon. Battle Royal Jindrak, Reigns, Bob Holly, Renee Dupree, Chavo Guerrero, Big Show, Benoit, Jericho, Regal, Akio, Funaki, Charlie Hoss, Paul London, Kenzo,Orlando Jordon, Spike Dudley, Conway, Grenier, Christian, Tomko, Hassan, Rhyno, Taijiri, and Venis were all in the battle Royal. It came down to four RAW guys and four Smackdown guys. Final four was Y2J, Benoit, Big Show, and Bob holly (three of these things they go together...). final two was Benoit and Show. Same over the top rope guillitine finish from the 2004 Rumble. biggest pop of the night for Benoit winning. Ric Flair vs HBK People were going for HBK. This was a great match as would be expected. They pulled out practically all their stuff. HBK went for a sunset flip and pulled down Flair's tights for the crowd. HBK escaped the figure four and hit an elbow drop and a superkick for the win. John Cena vs Kurt Angle for the US title The heat was wierd. People were booing Cena but not really popping for Angle. Kurt was on offense most of the match. Cena was suplexed all over the place. Match dragged a bit. Cena escaped the ankle lock and hit the FU for the win. After the match Cena acknowledged Angle's reception from the crowd. Brothers of Destruction vs Brothers of Ineptitude Sniskey and Heidenreich come out first. Kane comes in with a huge pop. Undertakers entrance is the biggest pop of the night. Match was not as bad as I thought it would be. Pretty bad though. After seeing Heidenreich and Sniskey in the same ring it becomes clear that Heidenreich is the worse of the two. Finish had Sniskey and Heidenreich lay out Taker and Kane and turn to the crowd, leaving Kane and Taker to do a double sit up, double chokeslam and double tombstone for the win. Kane celebrates like an 80s babyface after the match. HHH vs Randy Orton for the world title This match was a streetfight. HHH worked hard in this match. he took two bumps on the floor, a bump over the turnbuckle, and juiced after a stair shot. Match was back and forth. Orton ended up losing after a chairshot to the head. Good match. All in all it was a great show from top to bottom. Big ups to the WWE. If this show is any indication Anchorage is in for a treat. Credit- Matt Mazany & The Wrestling Observer OMG, this looks like a terrific show. Doesn't seem to shed any light on the upcoming card for Mania, though. It would be great if WWE considered releasing these special cards on DVD. Maybe they will for their upcoming Japan shows.

    The Old School questions thread

I'm pretty sure Sid's in-ring WWF debut was against Ted DiBiase. He powerbombed him for the win (maybe a house show or something.) The initial plan I believe was a feud with Mr. Perfect.

    I did. Terrific match.

Revenge of the Sith Opening Text

I don't get it. What's wrong with the names? Is that what most people are worried about? Fictional characters names? How sad. The teaser from a couple of months ago was absolutely awesome, IMO. It made me want to see the movie even more. General Grievous was featured previously on the Star Wars magazine, on the Clone Wars cartoon, and a couple more times on Starwars.com so I don't see any surprises here.

    2005s Comic Movies

I've never read the Hellblazer comic, but from what I understand there's been quite a few changes made from the comic. Let's see how this one turns out in the end. Man-Thing I think I heard was going either for limited release or direct to video. Anyone with more info please share it. Punisher 2 for 2005? Highly unlikely, IMO. The first movie actually made a litle profit and was also a big DVD seller, but no second part is coming this year, it's too soon. Wether they're thinking about a sequel for the near future is another matter. I'm not one of those going ga-ga over the new Bat-flick, but I hope it's a good movie, and it seems a safe bet to say it'll be the biggest comic-book movie of the year (not counting Star Wars Ep.III which is not a comics movie per se.) And I'm also looking forward to the F4 movie, hopefully it does really, really well, and the common folk won't say that it's an "Incredibles" rip-off.

I believe Jeff Jarret has both of them beat.

    RVD has knee surgery today

This is just lousy timing for RVD, with his upcoming DVD and the final stretch for Mania now going down the tubes for him. Get well soon, RVD!

    Rob Van Dam DVD

Bump. My RVD DVD shipped yesterday from amazon.com, so hopefully it'll arrive before the announced street date, a first for me. Anybody else have it already?

    The Spiderclone Saga

Starvenger is right. If it hadn't gone as long as it did then it wouldn't be as badly remembered as it is now. A 10, 12 issue storyarc would have been enough. I will Google for "The Life of Reilly", though. I'm interested in what went on behind the scenes.

    Astonishing X-Men

There's a new Phoenix mini-series out now that I would suppose brings her back. I say suppose because I haven't read it. From what I understand, it's drawn by Greg Land (I forget who writes), and the first issue has gone to a second print, the first one sold out. I don't mind Jean Grey/Phoenix coming back, since it seems that's her gimmick with the reborn-from-the-ashes legend, and it would be quite interesting to see how she reacts to the Cyclops/Emma relationship. But I DO mind the return of Psylocke, a totally worthless character then and now. I read somewhere on Newsarama that that person is indeed coming back.

That match is the only reason I'm buying that DVD.

    Andre the Giant/IC Title DVD's

You can order both of them online for $5.99 each on DeepDiscountDVD. That's the cheapest I've seen anywhere if what you're concerned with is the price. I haven't actually seem them on any store yet.

Didn't Bret himself say that his best Mania match is the Iron Man match from WMXII against Shawn?

    Top 100 Drummers

I won't argue with Neil Peart being Number 1, However I do have a few quick observations: - Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam) should be in the Top 10. - Jeff Porcaro (Toto) should've been higher. - Eric Carr (Kiss) should've been included. - Tommy Lee (Motley Crue) should've been included. Not a total piece of crap, as was their previous Best Guitar players list. Again, I find hard to fault the Number one choice.

How does Clark Kent hide his....

That's all nice and dandy, but if he's able to remember to do that all the time, how could he forget not to wear his wedding ring? Wasn't there a storyline where someone even took pictures of him wearing the ring and put them on newspapers and stuff? How did he explain that? Is the general public aware that Superman is married or something?

    Fantastic Four Trailer

I can't seem to make that fucking trailer work on my computer. Doctor Doom looks very cool, even better than that other guy in the Corman movie.

How does Clark Kent hide his....

That was sort of the theory that John Byrne used back when he was writing/pencilling the Superman books. Lex Luthor managed to figure out that Clark Kent and Superman were one and the same, but he dismissed that because it wasn't logical (according to him anyway) that a guy as great and as powerful as Superman would lower himself to pass up as a nobody. Actually, quite interesting theory IMO. Maybe Sass can bring up exactly which issue of the series this was. Nowadays I believe Luthor knows Superman's real identity but I don't know how he found out since I don't follow his series at all. As for his costume, doesn't everyone use it under their regular clothes? I'm talking about guys like Batman, Spider-Man, Daredevil, etc. Others like Flash used to hide it in his ring (now I think the suit is made up of speed-force or something), of course. Iron Man carries his "suit" in his briefcase. Now THAT is cool!

I thought you were referring to that old Brooke Shields movie were she plays pinball and stuff. Horrendous flick.

    Astonishing X-Men

Here's what happened to the kid: He got frustrated because he couldn't fly no more, so he basically commited suicide by jumping off a cliff in a Danger Room exercise trying to fly again I enjoyed Whedon's first storyarc, even the return of Colossus that I was so against, but I'll have to wait for further character development with him. I found his dialogue to be on the mark, specially Kitty's, and if you read issue #7 I think you'll enjoy the terrific interaction between Wolverine and the Fantastic Four (specially The Thing). And what can I say about the art? Cassaday is absolutely fantastic and I hope he stays on board for a long while. This is the best current X-Men series out there, IMO.

    HBK vs Canadians

Batista's been doing that recently, I remember he did that on NYR, too. It looks way better than that bodybuilder posing he used to do before, as it seems he's more fired up for his match. That's gold, Jerry. Gold. I remember back to NWO2003 (it was in Canada, can't remember the town) after the Y2J vs Jeff Hardy match, Shawn came out and he was booed, but then went after Jericho and the crowd cheered him. What's up with that? Shouldn't he be booed no matter what?
