Damn. Does that include the midnight showing?
-
I might get them if they're not too highly priced and if the extras are any good.

There's another bad review at Box Office Mojo. The guy gave it a "C" calling it "dull, and solw-paced." Idiot. Other than this, the rest are mostly raving reviews. Can't wait for friday!!

Best North American Match Tournament
pochorenella replied to theintensifier's topic in General Wrestling
(1) Steve Austin vs The Rock, WrestleMania 17 (3) Rey Misterio Jr. vs Eddy Guerrero, Halloween Havoc 1997 Again, I might be biased due to the fact that I was there live for WMX-7. Tough choices no doubt. But really, any of these matches are worth mentioning as some of the greatest ever. -
I already got tickets for friday, I can't make it any time before. For you guys who have already seen it, you comic-book fans? Can you confirm my theory that the movie is an amalgam of Amazing Spider-Man #12 and Amazing Spider-Man #50? Keep in mind I haven't read any spoilers yet, I'm just inferring from all the trailers I've seen. And if you think there aren't any bad reviews, check the movie review database on yahoo.com, there's an idiot who totally rips on the movie, giving it 2 out of 10. Moron.

While I don't think the preview gave away too much, I think I figured out the story (comic-book fans will know waht I'm talking about): I think it's a mixture of Amazing Spider-Man #50 and Doc Ock's second (third?) appearance on AS-M. If so, they picked two of the best-loved Spidey stories.

Can't make it on Wednesday for Spidey 2 so I already got tix for friday. I'm pumped! I hope it does better than Shrek 2.

So what do you think's gonna be number one next week? Starts with an S...

I have over 80 TPBs in my collection, from very old to brand new. I'll try and post them later. Besides all the above recommended, no collection should go without MARVELS. Either the Hardcover edition or the regular one. Definitely my favorite TPB ever.

Funny you should say that. In one of the Weapon X issues Mr. Sinister showed up looking for some blood samples of Colossus so he could bring him back. I hope it doesn't happen. Besides when it comes to lives Colossus had one of the shitty ones I've ever read. His brother is thought to be dead but, he finds out he isn't. Then his brother kills himself and a few Morlocks but, they really went to another world. His sister is trapped in Limbo comes back older then becomes a child again and dies. The KGB kills his folks. He cheats on Kitty and they break up. He goes bad then changes his mind and becomes good again and tries to get back with Kitty. After all the shit Colossus has been thru it's best that the poor guy stays dead. I agree that Colossus should stay dead. His sacrifice was such a great comics moment and was done really, really well. One of the best single X-Men issues of the last few years, his death actually meant something and you felt his sacrifice was not in vain. So to bring him back would cheapen it all. And I totally forgot about Colossus's Brother (Mikhail was it?), another character I hate with a passion. So make it a second ammendment to the first ammendment I made to Marvel's first Commandment : "Only Bucky, PSYLOCKE, AND COLOSSUS'S BROTHER stays dead."
-
It seems you forgot the greatest one of them all: Fantastic Four (the original Hanna Barbera version.) But among your list, GI Joe.
-
As long as there's no Psylocke ongoing/limited series or the like, then everything is fine and dandy. They should ammend Marvel's first Commandment: "Only Bucky AND PSYLOCKE stay dead."

I just don't like Wolverine's "Astonishing" mask. Cassaday is a terrific artist but he missed the mark on this IMO. Alan Davis is a god with the pencils, so anything he does is fine by me. I still maintain he drew the best Human Torch EVER.

That was one of the rumored titles, along with "Birth of the Empire" and others, but Lucasfilms quickly dismissed them, just saying that fans (likely on the SW boards) have already guessed the Title.
-
About those high expectations, of course most die-hard fans have them. I wouldn't say that the public in general does. Lucas has been quoted way before EpII that this third installment, being as dark as he envisions it, would surely be the least succesful in the box-office, 'cause mostly the SW fans would love it but maybe not general audiences. He predicted just $300 million for EpII and he was right on the money, so who knows. I was watching that "Access Hollywood" show just yesterday and they reported on the lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin. Both actors were shown rehearsing the fight, which looked pretty cool, although there's nothing much to tell, being just a rehearsal. Regarding the movie title, Lucas has already gone on record saying that the fans have guessed the title already. I'm sure he's referring to the SW boards, so we can just especulate.

The only explanation I can conceive, having re-read the New X-Men issue where Mags supposedly hit the dust, is that Wolverine actually didn't behead him. We see Xorn's helmet plummeth to the ground but we don't actualy see if Mags puts it back on (he held it in his arms and was about to put it on.) We (along with everyone else) just assumed Wolvie killed him, when in fact he didn't. Do I get a No-Prize?

1)Austin vs Rock-WM 17 (24-7) 4)Bret vs Austin-WM 13 (24-7) 3)Rey vs Eddie-Halloween Havoc '97 (19-12) 7)HHH vs HBK vs Benoit-WM 20 (23-8) I'm probably biased on choices #1 and #4 because I was there live for both matches. So even if Bret vs Austin from SS96 is a terrific match, I vote the 3 way. And why the hell is HBK not represented with more matches? Is TSM biased towards him?? It's a conspiracy, I tells ya! Go HBK, go!
-
That's already an extra on the Armaggeddon 2002 DVD. Eddie's gone early but a super sweet match.
-
Actually, I thought that promo where Shawn said to Flair that he "took the torch from him" was pretty terrific.

That's spotty logic at best. SurSeries is one of WWE's Big Four so it traditionally does better than average buyrates. By your logic then, Eddie Guerrero tanked NWO 2004 'cause it did far less buys than Royal Rumble 2004. Or Kurt Angle tanked WMXIX, which did one of the worst 'Mania buyrates in years, cause it did far, far, far less than WMX-8. And HBK headlined SurSeries 2002 anyway, so should he be praised for the .85 buyrate? You can't just blame the ME when the show does less than expected and then go commend the undercard and ignore it when the show does better. One-match shows that are the only selling point for PPVs are few and far between, like WMVI, WMIII, WMX-7. Most show's success have ME and undercard go hand-in-hand.
-
Please let's not go back to that discussion AGAIN. HBK is still WAY over. Listen to the crowds on TV and on PPVs. He's a match for any face on the RAW roster, maybe even better.

The first HIAC is my favorite match ever. No contest here.

WMXX 3-way for me, without a doubt. I've seen all matches listed here except Noble vs London. Is it really that good? Did WWE really let them go for a decent amount of time on TV?
