    greatest title belt ever?

Call me crazy, but right now my favorite Title Belt if the WWE Title Belt, formerly the Undisputed WWE Title, now worn by Eddie Guerrero. I dunno, it looks pretty cool, the design is great. I believe they even made it bigger-sized somewhere at the time when The Rock won it last? It wasn't as big as it is now when it originally appeared, right? I've always liked the old IC belt, the one Warrior, Bret, HBK, wore. And I see some people also like the old US Title Belt, but to me both looked very similar so I thought WCW somewhat copied the IC belt. Or is it the other way around?

    PWI 2004 Wrestling Almanac

I have it. In fact, I own at least the last 3-4 editions, too. It's pretty good reference material, and it's always interesting to see who/what ranks in their Achivement Awards section, even if you agree or not. Sting ranking #1 in their Average 500 thingie really pisses me off. Even stiffs like both Steiners or Jeff Jarrett get ranked pretty high. Granted, Scott Steiner was awesome back in the day, so I guess that's why he's Top 10. In Jarrett's case, he ranked for every year of the PWI 500, so that gives him advantage. One error they never seem to correct is the Bossman/Shamrock vs Owen/Jarrett WWF Tag Title change in their listings. It hasn't appeared on ANY Almanac since it happened. Weird.

    I don't like anime.

I see nobody's mentioned Ghost In the Shell, yet. Highest recommendation on my part, a must-see film. I'm not too familiar on the horror/occult front, but the already mentioned Vampire Hunter D movies are great. Blood The Last Vampire is also pretty good, although a really short film. Spirited Away, Akira, Ninja Scroll, Princess Mononoke, are all classics and I think you should give them a chance. Also Neon Genesis Evangelion, but like someone else said, it's more of an aquired taste. Although not really fantasy, action, horror features, I'd also recommend Grave of the Fireflies, and Blue, which is a thriller.

    Star Wars vs. Star Trek...

I'm a Star Wars nerd, dork, whatever you want to call it. While I'm not one of those people who know all the names of every creature in every movie, I am guilty of watching the movies maybe 1,000 times each. I do sleep on Star Wars sheets (ESB, to be precise) and I once made a cross-continent trip to watch Episode II on digital screen on opening week. While both Ep.I and Ep.II are not classic movies, I still enjoyed both, specially Episode II. And the Clone Wars animated series got me pumped up for next year's Episode III. I do enjoy some Star Trek stuff, like movies 2, 4, First Contact, and the Next Generation series mostly. Wether Trek fans are dorkier or nerdier, I have to somewhat agree. Some tend to get overboard sometimes, but then again, so do Star Wars fans. On a somewhat unrelated note, check out Triumph The Insult Comic Dog interviewing people on the ticket line for Episode II. There's a funny confrontation with a Trek fan and a LOTR fan.

WWE Wrestlemania XX DVD in my hands now...

Of course he had heel heat, it's just that it wasn't getting-booed-out-of-the-building heel heat. The crowd booed big time when HBK superkicked Benoit when he had HHH in the sharpshooter, too. But they did stomp along when he prepared the superkick. Hell, I know I was, and I was rooting for Benoit. My point is that Benoit was the favorite for sure, but the crowd wasn't hating everything HBK did in the match.

    Wrestlemania xx DVD Easter Eggs...

I'm sure they're including that. The show (the telecast proper) ended way after Eddie came to the ring. It's just after the show went off the air that Benoit's family came to the ring. That might be included on Benoit's DVD, which is now officially a double-disc set.

WWE Wrestlemania XX DVD in my hands now...

WMXX was a terrific show and it's totally worth buying on DVD. Any extras the DVD has is just icing on the cake for me. That's all I'll say about this.

WWE Wrestlemania XX DVD in my hands now...

I see some people are complaining that the Greatest WM Matches Special doesn't have the complete matches included. Please remember that the WMXII Iron Man match was number one, it lasts over an hour, so it would be totally unrealistic to have it included. You don't expect WWE to give you everything you want on a silver platter, do you? If they geve you every match you wanted on a single DVD then there would be nothing left for them to release. Some others are complaining they edited Ultimo Dragon's slip. I was there live for this one and saw both slips, it's no big deal. Besides, Eddie Guerrero also slipped BIG TIME on WMX-7 (I was also there live) and I don't remember anybody complaining that it got edited on the DVD. Maybe just because it's Eddie we can forgive it, right? Now, editing the crowd noises really bothers me somewhat, because I was chanting along the whole time, mostly at Goldberg (I still have some respect for Brock), including a Goldberg sucks chant that I thought was pretty decent. And regarding HBK's supposed heel heat on WMXX, I don't get it because it didn't sound that loud for me. In fact, he actually had some cheers when he entered, but I'm not sure how it came across on TV. It's just that Benoit was the crowd favorite, no doubt, and I almost ruined my throat chanting for him whenever I could 'cause I was worried he wouldn't get a positive reaction based on his previous promo appearance with Eddie on the TitanTron. The crowd actually didn't pop for him that much there.

    News: New DVD's

I've seen both of those matches and they're pretty good IMO. But if I'm not mistaken the one were HBK retains the Title after Hebner checks the instant replay is the one that won MOTY in PWI magazine. I prefer the one were Marty wins, personally. Anyway, is either match actually regarded as truly one of the best of the year (not counting PWI)? PWI has had some questionable MOTY winners in the past: Rock/Hogan from WMX8, Brock/Angle IronMan, and a couple others. Anyhoo, I'm a Shawn Michaels fan, so if they include stuff like the Rockers/Brainbuster matches, Ladder match 2, IYH vs. Jarrett, and any match vs Jannetty, then it'll be a great disc.

    MTV Movie Awards Nominees

Just replace 50 First Dates for Kill Bill Vol.1 on the Best Picture category and we're all set. LOTR is likely to win here, though, so it really doesn't matter, but it would be nice if X2 won.

So I found out that my DVD player is region free.

Silvervision.co.uk has those old Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble DVDs, they're up to WM3-4 (duoble DVD, I believe), and now they're also offering the first two King of The Ring PPVs on a double DVD set. What else do you like? If you're into anime or japanese monster movies or the like there are tons of stuff you could try to get your hands on.

Does Benoit have that Main Event rub?

I agree. Benoit's been given a great push by not only beating the top two stars on RAW but actually making them both submit, no less. Who else is there on RAW that can be considered a worthy rival now? Kane? Don't make me laugh. Jericho? Would be cool as hell, but face vs. face is unlikely, unless they do it tonight in Canada to please canadian fans as a one-night thing. Edge? Not yet, my friends. Maybe HBK again in a one-on-one match if he turns full heel tonight? I guess some people want Benoit to be like Bret, in that he wrestled anybody on RAW. Well, that would be nice but back then they didn't have one PPV per month. Now you have to actually build some contenders for PPVs not just RAW throwaways. So, unless Benoit actually beats HHH and HBK, both on the same night, every RAW from now until next year, then I guess some will never be happy.
  15. Man, I say take back that blasphemy right now! Lacey Chabert is looking pretty good these days, but no way in hell is she hotter than Jennifer Love Hewitt. Specially if your judging by those 30 seconds or so of screen time Lacey had in NATM. I haven't seen trailers of that other movie you're talking about so I can't say anything else. Take it back, man! Take it back!

    Wrestlemania XX DVD prices

Hey, were you at the show, too? That really pissed me off, since the lines were so damn long to buy merchandise. I also couldn't get the WMXX baseball cap that I wanted, but I'm not sure if they didn't have it at all or they sold out. Now not even Shopzone has them anymore. As for the DVD, I already pre-ordered at Amazon for $24.46 two weeks ago.

KISS 2004 US Tour Dates Announced

I'm not sure if I can make it this year for this tour, we'll have to see. Those new songs from Creatures of the Night really make me look forward for this, Unholy as well, but I'm not sure about Tears are Falling. I mean, it's really one of my favorites but I always felt they could never really capture it live, you know? At least that's what I thought when they played it on the Asylum tour, it sounded really flat, unlike the album version. Paul, maybe you've heard it done better on another tour? And what exactly do you call cheap prices? Please specify, thanks.

Roger Ebert just gave the movie 4 stars.

Sequel to the 1989 Punisher movie?

Wow, I thought I was the only one that liked the original Punisher movie. I'm telling you, if Dolph at the very least had the Skull shirt on, man, that would have rocked the house. The Marvel Comics adaptation did show him with the Skull, though. Hey, any advance reviews on the new movie that's opening this week?

    Star Wars DVD's

Yeah, they did. They put CG Jabba over the original Jabba which was just some fat old guy in a fur suit. It was never intended for that fat guy to appear on the movie at all. He was just a stand-in until they could figure out what to do. I believe they originally didn't have the time/money to pull off whatever they wanted, so it was forgotten until the Special Editions came along.
  21. I'm talking about the Cartoon Network series, for anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about. 20 5-minute episodes that supposedly tied the gap between Episode II and the upcoming Episode III, as yet untitled. My take is that the series did a nice job with mostly action-based sequences, showing how powerful the Jedi truly can be, although it seemed kind of exaggerated at some point, but maybe that's because we've never seen them do that kind stuff in the live-action flicks. Anakin gets one step closer to the dark side, we see the Jedi Order take a MAJOR hit in their ranks, and the introduction of a brand-new villian that seems truly unbeatable, or at least very hard to defeat. The name of the new baddie escapes me at the moment but I think I've read somewhere that he will be featured in the new movie. The Republic won the war, or did they? Nothing earth-shattering, but an ejoyable little mini-series with pretty cool animation. Discuss, Star Wars fans.

    JLA/Avengers...

Haven't picked up issue #4 yet (stupid me) but from what I've heard it's a pretty good finale for the series. On the art front, no question George Perez busted his ass off and poured all his heart into making this dream project. No complaints on that part from me. As far as the story goes, I did see the Crisis likeness, and even though I didn't particularly ejoy that series, I find myself enjoying Busiek's. He's such a history buff, dropping little old-school bits here and there for us older fans. I'll share my final veredict on the series when I pick up issue #4 sometime this week.

Star Wars: Clone Wars Animated Series

That General Grievous looks much better on that magazine cover than his animated version. I believe it's safe to say that when he debuts on Episode III he won't look like an Army of Darkness reject or something. ILM must do an outstanding job for that character for it to look real. And I agree that the second batch of episodes (11-20) were much better than the first. Mace Windu kicked some major ass. And I also see that Anakin/Vader's job of wiping out all remaining Jedi was somewhat helped by General Grievious. Killing what's left of them should be fun in the movie (if it's actually shown) but there's not that many left to begin with. About the DVD release, I'm positive I read that the animated series was gonna be released this year not 2005, but they may have rescheduled or something.

    Twisted Mego Theatre

You could try Wizard Magazine's website, wizardworld.com, since Toyfare is done by the same people. Keep in mind I've never tried the site so I'm not sure if my info is accurate.

    Daredevil movie vs. Hulk movie

I liked both movies a lot, but I'm gonna have to give the slight edge to DD, just because it stayed truer to the comic book, and all those little things and details it had (check the extras on the DVD, you'll see what I mean) made me appreciate it even more. I'm positive it would've been a better movie with all the rumored scenes that got edited. And the Elektra/Bullseye fight, man alive, it's almost panel-for-panel and word-for-word exactly like the comic book. I didn't mind Affleck as DD, although I think he did a better job as Matt Murdock mostly. The Hulk movie is very well done, but I agree it was kinda slow sometimes, specially the first 30 minutes, and that ending made little to no sense to me. I know they already greenlighted for Hulk 2 but I'll be truly surprised if they actually released it. They need like a 100 zillion to make a decent CGI Hulk so I'm not sure if the studio is willing to do it.
