If it were up to me I'd book a ladder match between London and Kendrik vs Hardys vs TWGTT vs MNM for Mania with any/all tag Titles on the line.

What exactly is a 'smark', in your eyes, and are you one? I'm not trying to start anything, but I've noticed lately the term 'smark' getting thrown around a lot when people want to deride the opinion of others, for whatever reason, without really explaining why they're to be mocked for holding the opinion they do. Not trying to restart the discussion my orginal post created or anything, but since HTQs quoted here I just wanted to add a little something in a respectful manner. I'm not using the term 'smark' in a derogatory way whatsoever and if it came across that way I apologize. I was trying to express how volatile some people are in regard to their opinion regarding certain wrestlers, specially those who are close to management/booking or whatever. Take Triple H, for instance. Once a beloved near-deity with the IWC now mostly frowned upon because of his politicking even though he hasn't been hoggin the spotlight as badly for nearly 2 years. I remember an item a while back where tons of people complained because Trips reportedly stated that Punk didn't know how to work. The result? More negative feedback towards him. And don't even get me started regarding Michaels. Now, am I supposed to believe it'll be different with this news on Finlay and Anderson who are also widely admired around here? If I'm mistaken then I'm mistaken, but if I am then it'll clearly show some bias, although there's nothing wrong with that. Am I a smart mark? Probably yes. I follow internet news on sites like this all the time, but I also enjoy watching the shows and going to them and am not entirely bothered with the political maneuvering of the business itself, so I don't think I'm all that affected with this kind of news. So if I am a smark then it'd make no sense in referring to myself or others in any derogatory way. Sorry if this caused some heat. Thanks for listening.

Now watch how the smarks turn their backs on their previous favorites, Anderson and Finlay, for holding back their new favorite, CM Punk.

WON News + Notes, January 8th Issue
pochorenella replied to The Decemberists's topic in The WWE Folder
I go to Orlando quite often, so if I could score some tix I'd be sure to go. But is there another somewhat big facility other than TD Waterhouse Centre? I was there last year for the RAW/SD! taping the day after the Royal Rumble in Miami (which I also attended) and it seemed rather smallish, specially if you consider doing a WrestleMania there. -

I've always liked this match from way before Orton's mega-push, so it's nice to see it getting its due somewhat. I just downloaded Angle vs Joe II, I'll be watching it soon. And for those wondering about Angle vs Taker, their SD! rematch after NWO was pretty good as well, you should check it out.

Maybe they can also borrow that from the comics and have Doom steal the Surfer's Power Cosmic for the final battle of the movie. That way the Surfer could go from supposed villain to sympathetic hero in the end, ready for the stand off against Galactus in the third movie.
-
It was shown for a little bit, specifically the suplex through the table. RVD vs Test was neither mentioned nor shown, although last week's RVD vs Sabu vs Test match was shown for its final minutes, including the fan voting results.
-
That is more likely to be the plot for a third film. According to reports, Galactus will appear on this film, but it may just be a cameo at the end to set up the third movie. I know tons of people will be disappointed if that does happen but I think it could work very well. I'm really looking forward to this movie after seeing this.

I really like the basic layout of your WM card, but I have to take a bit of issue regarding both your proposed Tag Title matches. There is a bit of precedent going back to WMXX that having both Tag Title matches being 4-ways left little room for any of them being any good. Even a single 4-way tag match isn't guaranteed to work (WMX-8) but I'm of the idea that if you could do a single "specialty match" 4-way tag then the card would be better served. I mentioned on the recent Smackdown spoilers thread that a TLC contest between London & Kendrick vs MNM vs Hardyz vs the back-together WGTT could be all kinds of awesome. Of course it depends on wether WWE does come to a decision regarding each team's usefulness but that's another story. You almost had my exact same idea but with Cryme Time, who I feel could be used in another capacity. Shift Booker and Finlay elsewhere and there's all kinds of great reasons to make this inter-promotional (with any or all Tag Titles on the line) match happen.

The only ones I remember are the two Tag Title matches where the belts changed hands on each. I believe they were SNME matches.

Joseph Barbera of Hanna-Barbera Studios Dies at 95

Those two guys were some of the people responsible for me having such a happy childhood and making me the cartoon-loving and comic-book fan I still am to this very day. RIP, Mr. Barbera. -
I was also thinking something along those lines, and it would shure be wickedly awesome if they put together an Inter-promotional TLC match involving the Hardyz, London & Kendrick, and MNM for WrestleMania 23, possibly involving either Tag Titles (maybe both.) Of course that all depends on many factors, like if they want to keep any or all of those teams together until then, because two of those teams are not even together regularly or their members even on the same brand, and they've somewhat hinted at dissention between London & Kendrick. Oh well, I can still dream, can't I? Stick the WGTT in and you have a hell of a match. Yes, I forgot about Haas and Benjamin being back together as a team. Sure, add them to the match, why not. It's still wishful thinking on my part at this point in time. If you're referring to the Tag Title match between them and Eddie/Tajiri you're somewhat right, but I want to add that BOTH Team Angle members looked lost, most likely due to their inexperience in ladder matches. Since then Benjamin has been pretty awesome specifically in MITB matches so he's gained considerable experience and I'm sure with all the teams involved they could hide Haas's weaknesess or inexperience should he get lost again. Dear God, the more I think about this, the more I'm dying to watch it at Mania. Make it happen, WWE!

Going to No Way Out in Feburary
pochorenella replied to JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan's topic in The WWE Folder
I always enjoy going to PPVs, no matter what. Of course the bigger shows are always the most fun but NWO was pretty solid this year, which can be said of all SD! PPVs in 2006. Also, it should give you a nice preview of how WrestleMania could shape up. Go and have a good time. -
Wrestler of the year: Edge, hands down. He's had a fantastic year, delivering in pretty much all the PPVs he's been on. Two WWE Titles, great Title matches, this is truly Edge's year. Tag-team/Stable of the year: London & Kendrick. Exciting matches, great PPV outings, good and long Title reign. Their competition hasn't been the greatest but what can you do. Nice to see WWE somewhat allowing them to go balls out in the ring for a change. Match of the year: I'll go with Edge vs Foley from WM22. Others I strongly liked are Taker vs Angle (NWO), Edge vs RVD (Vengeance), and Cena vs Edge TLC match (Unforgiven). I'm dying to watch the ladder match from Armaggeddon. Best heel: Edge. Also a no-brainer for me. King Booker would come second, along with Finlay. Best face: Rey Mysterio. Most improved wrestler: Johnny Nitro. From good tag team performer to good mid-level Title singles wrestler. Quote of the year: None really come to mind. Markout moment of the year: Rey winning the Royal Rumble. The Rockers reuniting for one night. Edge's spear on Mick Foley through the flaming table at WM22. Funniest moment of the year: DX impersonating Shane & Vince McMahon. Worst moment of the year: RVD being arrested, leading to his jobbing of both the ECW and WWE Titles. I had hoped that RVD would rebound from this, but it seems WWE is not allowing him to. Worst wrestler of the year: The Great Khali. What a piece of crap. Best brand: Smackdown. Worst brand: Sadly, ECW by default. Although I've liked them most of the time. Best PPV: WrestleMania 22. Followed closely by Unforgiven. Worst PPV: D2D. Biggest disappointment: Kurt Angle's problems leading to his departure from WWE. RVD's continuing punishment.

I wouldn't say NYR has the best Elim. Chamber yet. The original one from Sur.Series was pretty good and had tons of heat, and Goldberg (as much as I hate him) had a terrific performance in the Chamber from SummerSlam 2003, even if the ending was awful. Regarding Taboo Tuesday, I'm drawing a blank on the undercard but the main event triple-threat between Cena, Angle, and HBK kicked ass IMO. Apparently, here's your answer:

Agreed regarding Warrior's theme, no doubt. Wasn't it "Jesus Christ Superstar" that Muraco used at that time? Or at least something that sounded just like it. Ricky Steamboat's theme was "Sirius" by The Alan Parsons Project. Great theme for sure, and I just love the seamless transition to "Eye In The Sky" (which Steamboat didn't use.) I love it when he does that. As for a favorite, I've always loved DX's theme, and I want to mention the Hardy Boyz theme (the one Jeff is currently using). I'm not sure about the original name, but damn if it isn't a kick ass song.

Taken from the latest WON Thread, according to the Observer, June 2007 will also see the release of "The Rock's Greatest Matches" DVD. If we go by the previous release list, next year we'll see 2 WWE dvd releases per month all year long, except for November and June which have 3. WWE sure is making a killing out of these.

Vengeance. That was a great show I dunno, Bob...I guess one match between them was enough for me...outside of the ending, the WM match was fabulous...it's very rare that a rematch will pike my interest. I agree that Vengeance 2005 was a great show, and that Angle vs HBK II was a great rematch just a few notches below their WM bout, which I absolutely love. Some may nitpick about the 50/50 booking and Shawn "demanding he get his win back" because "he didn't need it" and the such, but ignoring those points it's a terrific match. Give it a try, Lushus. Then again, I'm biased towards Michaels, so...
