  1. See, I love the concepts, but with WWE, their problem is either over-exposure or overuse. My feeling is that if any of these matches were to actually be the most brutal of them all, they should only be on PPV. Oddly enough, with the exception of the Iron Man, the time when the gimmicks ran their course into the ground was when Triple H had something to gain from it. He won the title in his Iron Man match, but that was okay because he was good in 2000. But TLC Raw was only intended to build Kane as a viable contender to the newly built "fake world title," having to beat six guys by himself because Triple H took out his tag partner. As usual, Triple H then goes on to squash Kane at the next PPV to retain. Sure, the match was good, but it was really unnecessary when the point of it all was to make Kane look like a monster one week and then Triple H's bitch the next. A simple hardcore tag title match would have been easier on guys like Jeff Hardy, who must have known that they were only bumping for a guy who had no chance of putting them over. Triple H has been invovled in two "Three Stages in Hell" matches, one against Austin which was good, and one against HBK, which of course was no so good. Primary problem was the rivalry meant fiddlesticks after Summerslam 2002. HBK wasn't a drawing champion, so of course HHH was getting the belt back. Even more obvious is that fact Triple H went over in both matches (odd since Austin was being built to win the title at WM X-7). It was the same old "anything you can do I can do better" attitude that both men have built their careers on, and thus the match really didn't matter in the long run. Ah, the EC match at Summerslam '03. After actually making promos that the main event would be Triple H vs. Goldberg (and hyped as the biggest main event in the history of Summerslam that few cared about), Triple H gets injured. Thus this match automatically takes away its whole "the ultimate Survivor Series title match" aura it would have had down the road. Everyone here knew that the match was only used to hide Triple H's injury so he wouldn't have to work, so naturally many were pissed that they finally pushed Goldberg as a monster only to have hem get jobbed to a hammer. I'm sorry McMahon, but when you take a match like that and turn it into an excuse for your son-in-law, you do not earn my respect. I hope the chamber never comes back. Triple H has successfully ran Hell in a Cell into the ground. HBK vs. HHH was the same old spotfest like the other FOUR gimmick matches on PPV, and HHH vs. Nash sucked so much ref Foley had to take all of the bumps. It was never any different from a spotfest steel cage match in my opinion.
  2. I'm with Meltzer. If he's okay (since that seems to be the general wish here), he has no excuse for not calling to work, given the WWE's trigger happy "pink slip" gun. At the very least he would have told his own son. Now, if a woman tied him up and robbed him blind or something like that, then yeah, I'm with the rest of you, I hope he's all right.

    Benoit Must Be Stopped

I think WWE got the message. Putting HHH over is the top priority now. Just look at what happened at Raw. He immediately gets involved in the top three things on Raw (Kane, Benoit, and HBK). He already got over HBK, Kane is going back to the midcard to care for Lita's bastard son, and all that's left is to bury Benoit by himself at Vengence or Summerslam. So as negative as the opening post was on Benoit, it does being up some good points. Only when Benoit does his signature moves is he over. I have no idea why anyone is even cheering for Orton at this moment let alone thinking he's ready to take Benoit's place wrestling-wise, but I'm betting it has NOTHING to do with Orton and millions to do with a year-long job by Foley.
  4. [HHHate mode] So instead of hearing very funny stuff between Eugene, Regal, and Y2J, Triple H gets to come down and blatantly bury the Rock and Chris Benoit because he's Eugene favorite wrestler. What a croc. Then, we get to see Triple H literally egofuck himself as he makes a Raw wrestler value an in-ring photoshoot with "The Lame as the biggest moment of his life. BS. Finally, Jericho gets in Triple H's face again, which can only lead to yet another burial in a PPV match. Man, this show was on a roll, too. Now we get to enjoy four months of HHH-mania. Whoopee. [/end HHHate mode] Well, as soon as we saw the box, we all knew Kane gave Lita the baby. My bet is that it gets dragged all the way to Summerslam.
  5. HAH! Kane did fuck Lita!
  6. Raw sucks tonight, and it will suck next week. Yeah, that Clearasil girl is ugly. And that "three-day" treatment is obviously an excuse for a piss-poor makeup job. [HHHate mode] Wow, so HBK gets fed to Kane because Kane thinks he's the number one contender, when everyone who knew that the HHH movie wasn't happening knew that it was Triple H and he's getting the belt back, then they tease a stupid fight between Triple H and Kane, all so HBK can be taken out. Then Kane "conveniently" leaves the building as everyone without a brain hears the obvious conversation between HHH and Bischoff. If that wasn't bad enough, now Eugene is the most over guy on Raw, and so naturally, he's going to get fed to Triple H next week, because there is no way in hell that Triple H will stand a retard being more beloved than him. Because there's only room for one retard on top of Raw. [/end HHHate mode]

The One and Only Bad Blood PPV Thread

Such as? Triple H isn't fighting for the title in the main event. That's for Summerslam. Yeah, only the fact that Bad Blood is a "throwaway" can justify how the most hyped match on the card gets placed at the main event without a title on the line, but the most hyped match on the biggest PPV of the year gets shoved to number two because a blatantly obvious championship job to the same guy who believes the title is all that matters is so much better. The hypocrisy boggles my mind. But at least the Lakers lost, so I'm not all that mad I missed what at best I'm hearing is a mediocre show. Rock-Hogan was NOT the most built match. Taker-Flair was. I said HYPED, not BUILT. People bought WM to see Rock-Hogan, much like people here paid to see HBK-HHH.

The One and Only Bad Blood PPV Thread

Let's see here Summerslam '02 - HBK vs HHH - Gimmick Street Fight Survivor Series '02 - HBK vs. HHH (with interference from four guys who never had a chance) - Gimmick EC match Armageddon '02 - HHH vs. HBK - Three Non-wrestling gimmick matches in one. Royal Rumble '04 - HHH vs. HBK - Gimmick "Stay down" match with a BS ending. Okay, I know I'm out of line, but I really have no interest in seeing these two egomaniacs have their FIFTH Gimmick match on PPV and steal the spotlight from everyone else, all while not really having a good match any of those times. I'd rather see the Lakers choke like I knew they would. I may be a HHH-hater, but I'm a Laker hater 1000 times over.

    Greedy bastards

Here's my thing. I have a TV card and can encode the PPV in Divx, which looks five times better than the webcast, which in itself means squat if you don't have a steady broadband connection for the PPV time. As far as I am concerned, paying for the webcast now is a blatant ripoff.

    Raw Rating

Yeah, that's pretty much what I said on Monday. Elimination game in the Western Conference Finals involving the Lakers. It was a no-brainer. Plus, some people actually were watching the Stanley Cup Finals in America. That, and not a good build to Raw, I expected the rating to be lower than usual. WWE actually shouldn't be too worried about this. They should sell the hell out of next week's show, though, considering it is a PPV and all.

Monday Night RAW on Memorial Day 2004

Benoit and Edge are opening only to divert viewers from Lakers-Wolves, Game 6, which hasn't started yet. I expect the Raw rating to be considerably down this week. Lakers are always a high draw, and the Stanley Cup finals are taking the Canadians.

    Trivia tidbits of notes

Well, the best time to complain about Triple H would be at Bad Blood. From what I saw on Raw, the whole "HBK screwed me out of the title" was expected by everyone. That means Kane faces Benoit at Bad Blood. I am not upset that Triple H lasted that long in the main event of just one Raw. Now, if HBK-HHH is the main event of the whole PPV, then I would be upset, as it once again shoves Benoit, the top guy on Raw, to the number 2 spot again. And after all this time of trying to make the world title and Benoit legit, that would be a sham to again be completely overshadowed by HHH-HBK.

The OAO Raw Thread - May 17th, 2004

I guess I have to be the bad guy here. It was the same generic, boring, unfunny "special guest" thing that Rock has done for the last two years. I don't get what all the praise is for. And yes, a guy playing a retard got over. I don't like it at all, but whatever at this point. I mean, heaven forbid that Coach was saying the exact same things a lot of us were saying on the forum a couple of weeks ago, only to have them completely squashed by the real posterboy of WWE, the Rock.
  15. I'm downloading it Monday amd mocking it then.
  16. Did Cole just say that JD tickets were HOTTER than Lakers' playoff tickets? That's a complete joke, especially when last night's floor seats were upwards of 2000 dollars, and NO one is in the arena right now for Heat other than WWE crew. There are usually people in the ringside seats behind Cole and Tazz. So where are they?

    Scooter's lattest brainfart

I read his rants. He trashed them. As was already mentioned, Raw was bad, but it had Jericho, Christian, Victoria when she was evil and could thus wrestle. Most of the crap surrounding Raw was HHH vs. Jobber of the Month. Kane, Goldberg, Nash, Booker. It was painful, but there other stuff to divert the pain. Smackdown has nothing to divert the pain. Everything is bad.

    Smackdown Spoilers

WWE has successfully sabotaged Smackdown in order to make Raw better. First they stole the talent (Benoit, Edge, Tajiri, Shelton Benjamin), and now they've handed Smackdown the god awful storylines with mediocre wrestling while they have helped themselves to the 20 minute tag matches and title matches that made the Smackdown Six famous and the WWE title matter again. My suggestion: End the brand split. No one new is being elevated for longer than two weeks, so what was the point of running the thing for two years?
  19. "Fuzzy math." It's blatant data manipulation. WWE should be relieved that Mick Foley killing himself and Orton and Benoit fighting in Canada got the buyrate as high as it did. Let's see how many people watch Bad Blood without that.
  20. Maybe the whole angle will be Rico trying to turn Haas gay or Haas trying to turn Rico straight.

I can't believe Eugene actually got over on a tired crouch angle. Damn Canadians. And I was starting to like them again, too.

The OAO RAW Thread for 4/19 !

Well, Canada, prepare to pay for Benoit's win last night. All of the Canada faces are dropping like flies. Jericho lost, and Benoit and Edge just got squashed. And I have little doubt that Benoit and Edge are losing tonight, too.

When Stephanie did it four years ago with the slap, we all figured that was the end of Y2J's career. Oh well, nice to see things playing to form.
