The OAO Raw Thread - April 5, 2004

Oh yeah, like this isn't a shock. Whoever made that Jericho "fluke" reference was dead right. Seriously, WWE, stop giving me reasons to watch UConn decimate all.

The OAO Raw Thread - April 5, 2004

And, from Compton, California...LANCE STORM! I doubt that. The red tights would have killed him years ago. You know red = dead. Why is Trish/Christian pulling the same garbage Stephanie/Triple H pulled in 1999? I'm beginning to think that this plot is all about Triple H screwing Jericho again. I'm actually more worried about Hardy becoming a jobber.

The OAO Raw Thread - April 5, 2004

I think the only reason they are saying that is to completely dissolve any Canada screwjob rumors, home country support, and to completely downplay Benoit. I don't blame the move with him being on this early. Any other night, though, I would be supporting the "they are killing Benoit" theory.

    OAO trade/new GM reaction thread

Once again, I fear for Benoit in Edmonton... Angle as GM will probably set up yet ANOTHER boss vs. top face fued, which at this point is getting rather old. That big 3-for-1 trade was done for two reasons, to put over Triple H as bigger than three guys (which in any other sport makes sense), and to make sure that NO ONE can take the tag belts from Evolution for the next six months. Lots of people figured Jackie was going to Smackdown for the T&A factor, so that is okay. Why break up the FBI?
  5. As I said in the Raw thread, it was a complete waste of time, as only four of the twelve picks meant something, and two of them were just reeked of McMahon-a-mania. RVD and Edge moving was of little shock to most here, and Triple H going to Smackdown and Heyman leaving pretty much give us another six months of Nipple/Triple, all while stomping on Eddie, RVD, and others.

Benoit is 'just a transitional champion'...

It's been well documented several tims over thta Jericho ahs been the one booking the Trish storyline. So if anyone has made him look like a bitch in that situation, it's Chris Jerico. I'm pretty sure that Jericho hasn't been booking it for a while now. There is NO way the WWE creative team would have given Y2J this much control for this long. The storyline has been going on since late November.

    Downloading WWE PPV/DVDs online

Here's the one problem with BitTorrent. While is it one of the cleanest and fastest P2P programs ever, ISPs (specifically universities) are catching on and thus cutting the use priority of BT so low that it isn't worth it. mirc and the like are pretty much laissez-faire with them, however. So here's my recommendation. If you have your own line (like DSL or above that gives you unlimited, and more importantly, UNRESTRICTED use), then use BT while you can. Everyone else use irc.
  8. WWE does the exact same thing. Smell the hypocrisy.
  9. There was a documentary years ago that basically said that the WWE hands out the multitude of signs for TV. That's not new. It's all part of the selling. As a matter of fact, I used to think that the WWE could go so far as to BAN fans from making their own signs, and they can only use the ones that the WWE made.

Benoit is 'just a transitional champion'...

Rock did his damnest to not make Jericho a joke by putting him over in three PPVs. Didn't matter in the end, because HHH squashed him for three months. Jericho should have taken the torch from Micheals years ago, but too many top guys have it out for him. Why else would he be booked to be a total pussy for Trish? WWE has a habit of ignoring WCW guys, so them ignoring Ric Flair as WWE Champion is not unexpected in the slightest.
  11. The thing with 50K+ venues is that they need to have domes or roofs. Though it is highly unlikely that it will rain in Pasadena, WWE can't take that chance when the show is booked months in advance. You can bet that if the Rose Bowl had a roof, they would have done a WM there, as the place can easily sit 100,000 people.
  12. This is the exact same garbage that happened in 2002, and it cost them millions. I don't see how this is a good move. It's just hitting the reset button. Actually, since none of these current storylines are working, they have nothing left to lose.
  13. That's why I want to download the original broadcast. Not a lot of time for edits. The crowd and the world title matches saved the show, literally.
  14. I want Benoit to have ****+ title defenses for the next five months. Maybe then most people will forget how the whole push was completely killed the night after the Rumble. Here's a question though. Is it better for a world title push to be built up immensly and then squashed (like Jericho) or to be squashed out of the gate and then shot to the moon (Benoit, thus far)?

The OAO Creepy McMahon Baby Thread

I hope that kid becomes a crack addict and a bank robber, just to spite Vince and Shane. At least Dave Letterman was modest about his baby presentation.
  16. Seriously, about half of the people that did show up at Wrestlemania had no right to be there. They didn't even try something with the tag titles, could have easily tossed out 10 people from those two matches.
  17. How so? Well, because she could have quit WITHOUT looking like a retarded butch lesbian. Now she would be quitting while already looking like a retarded butch lesbian. No point in it now, it's over. The only way this would be redeeming is if she uses a strap-on to BUTT-fuck Victoria.
  18. Everything with women stunk, every match without a title on the line blew, and every match with more than five people in it was a waste of time. That leaves the World Title matches, which were okay.
  19. You're right, DEAD is a much better word for LA crowds...
  20. I live in LA, I might go. LA isn't shitty so much as it is really apathetic. Go to a Laker game, it's silent until around the fourth quarter. We don't care about football enough to toss away millions for a stadium every ten years, and don't expect to have PPVs end in a damn draw (ugh, still can't get Unforgiven '02 out of my head).
  21. She should become the "Stone Cold" of the women's division. drinking beer and tearing other women's clothes off, then giving them stunners. She's a bald-headed "Straight-Out BITCH." It works perfectly. With Trish now becoming the Stephanie McSlut of the modern Era (which seems to carry the condition of screwing Y2J and making him look like a total fool), Molly is in a perfect position to become the top face in the women's divison. I mean, hair spray in the face? MEAN. Vicky's no longer a good gal in my book. Honestly, it's that kind of thinking by some drunken writer in the WWE that seems to justify this as funny, shocking, amusing, or worse-yet, money-drawing.
  22. I'm downloading it through BitTorrent tomorrow. I just don't feel like paying 50 bucks for something that will be totally negated and meaningless by Raw tomorrow. Look at Royal Rumble.

    Mainstream Leak of Brock

I didn't say a lot more people would be watching, but a few more may now have just remembered that WM is Sunday. In the long, it won't really matter.

    Mainstream Leak of Brock

More people will watch WM now, for the wrong reason, but at this point, it doesn't matter. This is the only kind of publicity the WWE can get these days. Either a woman has to get naked for Playboy, a has-been has to make a cameo, or a wrestler with talent takes the high road. No wonder they get no respect. It's almost sad. (Almost because the actual product doesn't help them right now)
  25. Yeah, they actually hyped Tyson being AT Wrestlemania, not some pre-Mania dinner thing like they are doing with Rose. Tyson was a good thing, while Rose is just trivial.
