    NBA Offseason chatter

I did not agree to this in any way, shape, or form. Wagering on a game is never a good idea, especially when it involves changing a username to something the user finds racially insulting. From reports, Ainge's heart attack happened before Doc Rivers shelved Garnett. So it's just another fail on ESPN, which occurs two to three times daily anyway. Amazing, though, that a basketball player who played at the elite level for 15 years gets a heart attack at 50. I hope it was only stress-related, because anything short of a freak genetic issue is just sad.

Steph vs Shane... Oh it's fucking on now

I call BS on this until we get an issue date. I don't remember seeing anything about this in the last two months in the WON.

It does open up their game when the Jazz can drive to the basket.

Again, just be careful who you call white. I do not have grudge against Kobe Bryant, I think the Jazz are much more physical team that can easily score in the paint and have a far superior point guard. With the exception of Odom, the Lakers' bench is useless and will get crushed.

Bad form, since Bryant did actually rape someone.

So if you don't have cable, you only see two games out of eight opening round games the first weekend. And it looks like that is going to be the pattern until the conference finals, which won't be on at all. Fuck the NBA and ABC. Crabs in 5. Atlanta-Miami doesn't matter. Orlando in 6. Boston in 7 (no KG, but the Bulls will beat themselves). Jazz in 4 (not changing my stance from March, but the Jazz are more likely to do it than Dallas was). Portland in 6. Spurs in 6. Hornets in 5.

    NBA Discussion

Wow, Portland just beat down the Lakers at FULL strength. I don't really need to say anything more. Meanwhile, the Celtics and Cavs keep getting it done. This may be the first time I actually care about the Eastern Conference Finals. Well, until Game 1 ends with an 80-78 score. Then I'm back to not giving a crap.

You're right, I may change it to getting swept in the second round by Portland. Maybe...

Manu is out for the postseason with a bad ankle. Spurs are done. Pretty good column by Whitlock slamming AI. It's not an accident that Denver gets swept last year in the first round, and will probably get to the Finals this year with Billups. Iverson is a fraud.

Both the driver of the van and the idiot who killed another fan during the fight on Opening Day need to be put to death. Anaheim cannot catch a break.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEXaNzelqtg...player_embedded So Pollard is late to a TV gig, then Miller rightly calls him out on it, and Pollard, like a moron, keeps badgering her, even though he was in the wrong, and she had to cover his ass. Granted, this would never have made air on ESPN or TNT, but given that it did, I gotta side with Cheryl on this one. Pollard won a ring by sitting on the Celtics bench. If he had actually been on the court for any length of time, the Lakers win that series. And this is the guy who told people to do drugs on camera while he was sitting on the bench in Sacramento. I normally would applaud such a dick, but really, he's a white guy who thinks he was a basketball player. He gets no sympathy from me.

Better than the Lakers, who barely beat the lowly Clippers because Baron Davis is ball hog who cannot shoot to save his life, as opposed to Eric Gordon who scored five points in the last minute to even give them a chance to tie the game. Hurry up and become an All-Star, Gordon, so that you can take over and get this clown out of here. And where's the great offense? This is the fourth time in five games that Lakers haven't cracked 100, and the only team that I would give a pass to is Houston, because they play far better defense without Knee-Mac. But Charlotte? Atlanta? The freaking Clippers? Yeah, totally sticking with my first-round elimination prediction. And yeah, I was hoping that the Spurs would start their postseason spurt by shutting up the Cavs, but it was not to be. At this point, only Boston and Orlando can beat them at home.

    The 'Unwritten' rules of WWE

There is only one rule: Vince is GOD. Actually, that may actually be written in the WWE contracts, so that may not count.

    X-Men Origins: Wolverine

At this point it's a movie run by executives who have no idea how to tell a comic book story. Ever since Singer got removed from the franchise, it's been fluff, and this movie only embellishes it. I will say this, given how they are advertising the movie and showing off the various mutants like this is X-Men 4, people are going to be royally pissed when they see the payoff. This round to the hater fanboys.

Lakers dominance my ass. They barely got 80 on Charlotte and lost, and they couldn't get 80 on Atlanta in another loss. And this is the best of the West? Yeah, Bryant was sick, but Jordan won a playoff game with the flu. Bynum had the right idea by taking the early vacation at the Playboy mansion. If the Bucks beat them tomorrow, they are done.
  18. I'm shocked that Molly Holly took the offer. I thought she was one of the first to flat-out say no. And I like Victoria. But I'm still not paying money to see her on TV one more time, especially if it means I have to endure Santino in drag.
  19. Nice bait and switch with the All-Divas show, again. And let's hope the Bella twins match is the last time they are ever on TV. And the McMahons in the main event on Smackdown. This is not looking good...

    This week in the NBA

Al Harrington is a moron, a flat out moron. In the last game against the Clippers, he dunks the ball for a three-point lead with less than 30 seconds left, then gets a technical foul for hanging on the rim and slapping the backboard like the game is over. Of course, the Clippers win the game in OT. So what does Harrington do? He makes a dunk tonight with less than 30 seconds left to give the Knicks another three point lead, then kicks his legs over the top of a Clipper while hanging on the rim to showoff, and is hit with ANOTHER technical foul. And again, the Clippers win in OT. It's just too funny, that a professional basketball player gets the same technical foul in the same scenario against the same team twice. And this one wasn't like a frustration thing where he got hit in the face. He was trying to show off and do a pullup on the damn rim, and just happened to go over a Clipper. If he had done that in the open court, he still would have been T'ed up. What an idiot. And I enjoyed the finish of the Orlando-Boston game. Trevor Ariza needs to take notes on that finish. THAT is how you use a foul to give with a two-point lead and five seconds left.
  21. Sadly, Vince will be proven right when TNA responds to this on Impact. Because that will happen. But yeah, this a pot, kettle, black statement, nothing more.

Blatant false advertising. This actually had me interested in ECW, which I never had an interest in. And now I still have no interest. No happy about Obama bumping Tuesday TV either, I think I'll go to the gym.

    Marvel Animation

Wolverine and the X-Men is actually pretty good too, especially the second half. The X-Men Evo guys have picked up pretty much where they left off. And fuck Nicktoons for delaying this show forever. The rest of the world has already aired all 26 episodes. It's like they were waiting for the Wolverine movie, which is silly because the X-Men name in the title will do more marketing than the show ever will. But yeah, Spectacular Spider-Man rules. I think Marvel is slightly ahead of DC right now in terms of getting my interest. I liked Wonder Woman a little, and Batman Brave and the Bold is cheesy fun, but the Marvel toons right now have my full attention. And when is the new Iron Man show going to show up?

    This week in the NBA

Not really. I think the 2003 Spurs are the ONLY team that could have beaten the 90s Bulls in a seven game series. I think that Tim Duncan, not Bowen or Ginobli, is the dirtiest player on that team. It does amaze me that they often will cough up single-digit quarters. I think any team that does that should automatically be disqualified from the playoffs. And no, NBC would not force hurt players to suit up. They would just put another game in its place, meaning the players that are hurt won't get to be on national TV, so the shoe companies won't notice them and they won't get their big endorsements. With ABC that does not matter anymore, because they air are less than half the games NBC did, and they always put up the Lakers or the Suns because they are desperate for ratings.
