    Gas Price Check...

I fill up my gas tank after every 220-250 miles as it is, so there would be no big change to me. Bring it on.

    General Marvel Discussion Thread

I think it was more of "writing out" than "killing off." There will be a return, when they are good and ready.

    TSM Superhero Draft

Rorschach Yeah, he's just an ordinary human in a scary outfit. However, he's also a raging psychopath, who strikes suddenly with surprising brutality. He's brilliant when it comes to hand to hand combat, and he's an excellent detective. He knew there was something fishy going on in Watchmen long before anyone else even considered that heroes were being systematically removed. The downside to Rorschach is that he sees everything in very stark black and white, with no shades of gray. He can be difficult to work with. But he has displayed strong loyalty (particularly to Nite Owl) and he's driven to see justice through to the end. I think Wolverine and Emma Frost would do a lot to keep him in line, and if Rorschach got out of control with his own agenda, Wolverine could be prepared to stop him if need be.

    TSM Superhero Draft Results

Oops, accidently posted my pick in here. That's what happens when I have two windows open onto very similar theads.

    TSM Superhero Draft

Jamie Maddox - Multiple Man He's a great hand. He wouldn't be the leader because he tends to have trouble keeping things together, but he's a useful tool (strength in numbers, right?).

    Box Office Report...

I saw a couple of people walk out of Clerks 2 due to Randall's line that was something similar to "C'mon, I let you smell my fingers after I fucked so-and-so's kid sister..." They had been scoffing at a lot of comments up to that point, it's a shame they missed the donkey scene. It makes me wonder if they were even familiar with the first film.

    TSM Superhero Draft

I've been holding off on Watchmen characters because so far there has been no pressure to go for them (and many of them are so damn dysfunctional anyhow). Dr. Manhattan is very unpredictable and difficult to work with sometimes, which was why I was going to pass on him, for example. By the way, would it be possible to include text results in addition to the picture results on the first post? It's starting to become confusing to me.

Beast With my newest draft, I'm picking up not only a heavy hitter, but a brilliant scientific mind. He's also a peacemaker when team-mates fight, so he'll bring a lot to keeping my ranks together.

Hellboy was on my radar, but he wasn't a top priority.

Emma Frost Well, my team needs a leader, and Frost more than fits that role. She has stepped up in the X-Men and handled the job well. She is also important because her telepathic abilities allows her to give orders and plan strategies with her team mates without anyone speaking outloud. In addition, she can turn herself into pure diamond, making her indestructable. You don't want to fuck with Emma Frost, she is a bonafide hard-ass who will mess you up.

    TSM Superhero Draft

My third pick is... The Immortal Iron Fist! Not only is the Immortal Iron Fist, aka Danny Rand, a martial arts master, but he's got mystical powers bestowed on him, due to proving himself worthy in the heavenly city of K'un L'un. Rand was chosen out of all the fighters in the city to face a powerful dragon, to which victory granted him the powers of the Iron Fist. He is the most recent in a long line of Iron Fists throughout the ages. Rand is a vital part to my team because on Earth, he is incredibly wealthy, as he inherited the Rand Corporation. He has purchased numerous abandoned buildings in New York, and has connected them to allow him to travel through the city undetected, which will be useful in keeping my team hidden. Rand's money and stealth open lots of options for my band of do-gooders, and his mystical powers make him a powerful asset in combat.

Well, I'll be doing my part to make sure that NH doesn't flip to McCain. But yeah, it is very possible.

    TSM Superhero Draft

I was considering Gambit for my team. He rules. Deadpool was probably going to be my fourth round pick, well played.

    TSM Superhero Draft

Rowe's second pick I don't mean to fill my team up with mutants and X-Men, but I can't help but draft: Kitty Pryde Kitty is a great "ace in the hole." She surprises her enemies with her clever solutions and attacks. Her phasing ability lets her disrupt machinerary and weapons, which makes her a valuable asset. Most recently, she proved just how heroic and powerful she is in the pages of Astonishing X-Men. I'd be proud to have her on my team.

Interesting pick with Rachel Grey, I probably would've grabbed her for my 5th or 6th pick.

    TSM Superhero Draft

Rowe's first pick: Wolverine You cannot kill this man. He has suffered just about every injury in the book, whether it's being shot point blank in the face or exploding in a car bomb in Iraq. Wolverine is a martial arts master, possesses a unique healing ability, and has an adamantium skeleton which includes two pairs of razor sharp claws. When it comes to teamwork, you won't find a more loyal ally than Logan, who will sacrifice everything to save those he would call his friends.

    NEW ROH Champion!!!!

The other good thing about the long ROH title reigns (and many first time champions) is that if Austin Aries were to win the belt for a second time, he'd have all sorts of fresh matches because it's been three years since he last held the title and the roster has changed dramatically since then. Some might argue that Danielson has already reached that point as well.

    NEW ROH Champion!!!!

I might be the only person on Earth who doesn't mind the spinner belt. Now that the belt doesn't spin and I've had three years to get used to it, it comes across more as a modernized/revamped idea of what a championship belt would look like in 2008. If I had my way, they'd still be using the same WWE title belt they had in the late 90's/early 00's (right before the creation of the Undisputed title belt) so I'm not saying that I'm in love with the spinner or anything, it just doesn't bother me and I don't think it hurts the image of the championship itself in any way. I'll admit, it seemed amusing to me in 2005 when Chris Jericho was clutching the spinner belt and staring at it as if he was looking at all his hopes and dreams. However, now I'm just used to it.

    TSM Superhero Draft

Let's not complicate this too much. I think we'd probably have the most fun with this if we were picking our favorites and not what we think others would think we should pick.
  21. The only wrestlers I've really met are Sara Del Rey, Daizee Haze, Butcher Vachon... and I think that's it. I wouldn't call any of them my "hero" but Del Rey is really cool.

    I'm in.

    NEW ROH Champion!!!!

A championship, to me, is only as prestigious as the company wants it to be. Right now, the WWE title means something, in part to it's 40+ years of lineage, and that it's treated like a really big deal on Raw. The World Heavyweight title means jack shit. The Smackdown writers book the show so that it's traded between Undertaker, Edge, and Batista, and seemingly no one else on the roster is striving for a shot at it. The ROH title has always been booked as a big deal. Title changes are very meaningful and have big ramifications on the entire promotion. The wrestlers fighting for it tend to act like it's the most important fight of their lives. Not to mention the outstanding lineage the belt was behind it, in less than seven years.

Yeah, if Gabe is deleting threads about this, then there's no way in hell this will be recognized.

    Campaign 2008

I think it's better to argue with what they actually say then just to try and suggest they don't know what they're talking about because they're some liberal with an opinion. When you simply try to discredit the person and not the message, it sounds like you really don't have any sort of counter-argument at all.
