The Worst Wrestling Show of All-Time

I'd nominate Hardcore Homecoming: November Reign based on the DVD, but there's clearly at least one match completely cut off of it, the Team 3D match. The opening match isa dumb, nothing match involving Blue Meanie against....someone...I watched it 3 days ago and I can't remember. Spike came in playing heel and wrestling CW Anderson who looks to have lost about 100 pounds because he nearly died, I think it was of liver failure they said. Then they had the triple main event, a rematch of the Taipei Death Match, which wasn't great in the first place and this time they use a fork and chairs more than the glass on their fists. They then had a dog collar match between Gary Wolfe and Shane Douglas, which was far better than it had any right to be, and hence was the best match on the card. Then they have the cage match with Lynn vs Credible, and they just didn't click, and the whole point was supposed to be a Impact Players reunion, which just made no sense for what are basically one shot shows with no real continuity. Where's Raven? Where's Rhino? Where is the frickin' Team 3D tag match that was advertised on their own website? The DVD version comes in at under 2 hours, it's embarassing and I hope I can encourage others to avoid it

Star Wars Trilogy coming to DVD (again)

I was told repeatedly by every video retail person I asked that these did not exist. Fuck you, Suncoast and Best Buy clerks of America, you lazy fucking bastard sons of bitches. Fuck you in your stupid asses and damn you to hell. As a Best Buy employee, I can tell you that almost no one who was working when those tapes were released are still working at Best Buy, or not in the retail stores, at least. I didn't know they existed until that post either.

    Most Overrated/Underrated MLB Players

Agreed, the Red Sox should've cut Kevin Millar and kept Mientkiewicz Intangibles are dumb, yeah, but there's room for a cheerleader-type guy like Millar. It's not like he's the drizzling shits out there, he's just not as dynamic of a player as his personality would make you think. For being one of the fan favorites and outspoken clubhouse guys of the Red Sox, he was just kinda there on the field, so I guess people found him overrated. BLAH BLAH WINNING IS ALL THAT MATTERS. I'm sure his teammates wanted him around, but what do they know Not even that, he was very streaky and had long, long cold runs when you could have Mientkiewicz out there possibly being productive.

Agreed, the Red Sox should've cut Kevin Millar and kept Mientkiewicz Or got rid of them both because they both suck. Uh...no. Mientkiewicz is JT Snow with a slightly better bat, I'll take that over JT at first, Youkilis seems to be doing okay, but I'd feel better if he were at third

Who here supports the current administration?

What's your guarantee that the government will do a better job with health care than the private sector? Also, pumping more money into public schools won't make us a more educated society. We'll just have more laptops. No doubt. If you want to improve public schools, make teachers accountable for their students passing. Make districts accountable for how they spend grant money. i think thats what No Child Left Behind is helping to achieve. I live in Chicago, and Chicago spends more money per student than any other place in the state, and their schools for the most part are still horrible. And its not the teacher's pay either. I have a finance degree and my teaching buddies make more money out of college than I do. They start out at like 40,000 a year in Chicago, for a public school teacher. As for the guy complaining about his dad not having enough skills to get a job, well welcome to the club. I've got to compete with people with MBA's, so I pretty much have to go to graduate school to get the job that I want. Thats just how competition is. It makes people better. My dad is/was basically a repairman. He's not looking for anything high end. And no, college has largely ruined my life and burned me out worse about most topics, so I would disagree with your "makes people better." I also know that standardized tests never hold up against what a real teacher can do with their own students. Every teacher I've ever heard speak on the subject, heck, everyone not in the government has always said teaching to the test is the worst. I had an AP History class in high school that was nothing but note taking, pretty much, because the teacher wanted us ready for the test and after the AP test the class pretty much fell apart, we never really got to discuss history, which to me is the most interesting part of learning about it. Please excuse my randomness, it's getting kinda late here and well, this is the way I am, pretty much.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

Casual fans have no idea who Jushin Liger is, so of course they won't be excited about his appearance. Actually, people might have some idea, he DID work for WCW for a while, he worked a TNA PPV, and he was featured in a match on Chris Benoit's DVD. Also, Liger has the most distinct look in wrestling perhaps outside of El Santo, so if a guy sees him, he may not remember that this is Jushin Thunder Liger, but they might recall some dude in a red demon mask who could go.

Flipping Out On A Rude Customer At Work

My dad prefers pumping his own gas, he used to work at a gas station on Saturdays, but most guys are cool with that. He usually just explains he prefers to pump it himself and he pays the money, which I'm guessing is all the station cares about, right? As for customers who don't respond when I try to say hello to them, I've given up on can I help you because immediately customers get defensive and I like to be laid back and cool, so I start with a hello, how are you, and if they don't respond, unless I notice they have a stupid little cell phone headset afterward(I hate those with a passion), I figure they're ignoring me or something and move on, i might try later. I once walked out of the department, though, because a guy told me he doesn't want me near his children(like I was going to molest them or something) just because I tried to give them help with a video game. Hmm....what else...my friend who used to work with me told a couple of good stories about working in Kinkos. One lady took the corpse of her cat that had been run over and plopped it down on the photocopier, and another lady had her son climb up on the desk and pee into the trash can since there wasn't a public bathroom or something. Sorry, those are more funny stories than anything, but ah well.

Either it was the ref screwed up or they were getting worried about the battle royale they had to run, I forget

Who here supports the current administration?

What's your guarantee that the government will do a better job with health care than the private sector? Also, pumping more money into public schools won't make us a more educated society. We'll just have more laptops. Possibly. But also, you can get people better and more text books, get them more computer literate with those laptops, and increase teacher salaries and maybe even work on the buildings. And as for the health care thing, the US pays the most for health care in the world but doesn't get the best results, so government run health care doesn't look too bad to me. At least as long as it isn't run by this administration And yes, my dad's training is out of date, but he found some kind of device he could work with before he got his current job, I doubt only one company in the greater Boston area works at fixing them
  11. Masked Man of Mystery

Who here supports the current administration?

When people talk about how wonderful the economy is, I think of my dad, who was laid off post 9/11 from some kind of job fixing something or other electronic. He's never been to college, and his computer training is out of date, he used to work on motherboards and such (I think) in the late 80s/early 90s. Anyhow, he got laid off, and the only job he could get around here is working as a chair car driver carting around old people to hospitals and the like and he makes a third or less than a third of what he used to make. AND he only got the job because my uncle worked at this company. Screw that, man. That's a darn good reason to vote against Bush, even without my being a mega liberal. I don't think Kerry can run again, and I'm unsure about Hilary, but the Dems need to run a BUTT kicker against whoever the GOP runs.

    WON News and Notes, 8/5

Y'know, I just got the new Hardcore Homecoming DVD, Novemeber Reign(which I'm almost certain is missing at least one match, there's no mention of Team 3D at all and it loooks to be coming in at under 2 hours) and I'm wondering if Vince might at least partially be bringing back ECW to try to kill the HH shows, maybe?

For those who care, here is the Team USA(I thought it was Team TNA?) entrance themeTeam_USA.mp3 It's not half bad. Does anyone know who this Dale Oliver is? I see his name on a bunch of the TNA entrance themes. Is he their James Johnston(or whatever the WWE theme guy is)?

Free Comic Book Day is May 6

Details are at this site. It has the comics they'll have and at what stores. I always like these, and I'm glad Tokyopop isn't blowing this off, there shouldn't be this huge split between manga fans and American comic fans

    Best A-Train Matches

Oh, I know he was into some strange stuff, especially after I found out what a Prince Albert is, those outfits he used to wear when he tagged with Droz and all the piercings do kinda give it away, but like him and Steiner and Lesnar, I just don't see the appeal of having big chest tattoos, although Steiner doesn't looks totally nuts to have his. It'll just be ironic and sad if he dies of heart failure or such

Star Wars Trilogy coming to DVD (again)

I believe those were put ut in '95 or '96, I have them plus the '98 special editions. I didn't get these DVDs, but I'll definately get these new discs
  18. I agree that Bischoff could be good, but they don't need to have a heel DOA, and that's the instant reaction to Eric. Cornette is a known rebel and it fits that he's in the "rebel" promotion

I just looked at a little bit of it, good to see Albert shaved his body hair but I just don't understand this trend toward massive tattoos

    David Lee Roth Radio Show

Okay, David Lee Roth's been on the radio with his new show in Howard Stern's slot for a little under an hour now. Infinity dropped the ball big time. He has almost no energy to the show, he has music running under him the whole time, he keeps referring to staff members and we have no idea who they are. He randomly plays songs(including a belting soul song at somewhere around 6:15) and just ugh....I'm sorry, but if they thought they could replace Howard Stern with this, they have another thing coming. I wasn't expecting Howard Stern, but I was expecting entertaining and this is more random and just bad. If it gets better, I'll be happy to post later, but I very much doubt it will be so. Any one else listening with an opinion?

    Feedback for 5/4 HD

This was a really well put together show, especially considering it's a post PPV show. I'm sorry about the lack of HTML versions of the shows, I'm busy with school and I'll try to get that back up after I have my finals, so when I come back as a wrestler as well

    Booking for 5/11 HD

Y'know, it's great that we're doing an extra show and such, but I haven't seen ANY details on how we're doing this Syndicated show, due dates, nothin'. Kinda hard to have a show when some of the roster hasn't got a bloody clue how it's going down

    He weights 1,200 pounds...

I'd have to guess there's something up with him inside that makes him gain this kind of weight, possibly something with his intestines from what the procedure sounds like

Comments that don't warrant a thread

They use the twist to explain why Otacon and Emma split, and why Emma doesn't want to swim. It's dumb, yes, but this is a series full of sick people and it isn't totally out of place. I just love the gameplay and Snake's character is likle a modern day Man with No Name, I dunno, I can put up with a lot of the oddness, I suppose. I think also the game didn't have the best translation from what I recall reading. Like I said, it's so cheap now that renting it will cost more than owning, and I think at least everyone should play it. I like it quite a bit. And as for Jak and Daxter, I can tell you after several years of playing stealth games(I also recently got Splinter Cell, which is more realistc but not as well programmed as far as hit detection and plain less fun), wrestling games, and sports games, how nice it was to pick up the first Jak and play an honest to God platformer that didn't suck. Mario Sunshine disappointed me to no end with the constant "secret" areas that are plain out frustrating
