    WWF in 2000...

Trips was also having nice TV matches with undercarders who were supposed to job, but he let them get int some offense, especially Al Snow, who had more near falls than anyone in one match, I think. Wish I could remember the time frame though

    WCW Games

Revenge was by far the best WCW game, but Mayhem could be sorta fun if you were willing to play by it's flow and it's like a buck now if someone wanted to give it a try

I'll try to have a brief seg just to establish how long Otaku will be out

Movies that everyone loves that you cannot get the love for

I'm surprised that I'm the first one to try and explain this as maybe people don't understand why we "get" Scarface. I've been asked this plenty of times and I think its because its a gangster version of a rags to riches story that anyone who grew up as a minority or poor can relate to on some level. Tony is an illegal immigrant who came with literally the clothes on his back and was able to "earn" himself a huge empire which collapsed to his own selfishness and greed. The lesson most of us get out of it is...you can do it too, just don't indulge in excess to the point you end up like Scarface. Rappers love it because Tony is "tough" in that he doesn't take any crap from anyone (especially since he doesn't have an intimidating stature) and is true to himself. Also, since most rappers go into it to basically make a ton of money without "selling out" and the rags to riches story of Scarface is akin to their goals. Add in the fact that it was VERY edgy for its time (most F bombs in a single film until the South Park movie broke the record & a level of violence that caused protests in 83) and you have whats essentially a cult classic that has expanded to a culturally iconic film. Plus the movie is VERY quotable... Dames I guess I understand it a little better, but I still don't "get it", I guess. The impression I get looking at the shirts and such I see is that most seem to think Tony is a hero of some sort, whereas to me the movie came off as a cautionary tale(the screenplay was written by Oliver Stone if I recall correctly). And while Tonby may be true to himself, Tony's true self is a total jerk. He's greedy and selfish. I dunno, somehow if one were to pick a tragic "hero" I'd be more willing to look to a Jim Kelly type, but then I'm way out of the mainstream...

Movies that everyone loves that you cannot get the love for

If there is someone here who can try to explain the appeal of Scarface, I'd love to hear it, like I said, especially in reference to hip hop culture, because I cannot go anywhere without seeing some "urban youth" wearing a Scarface shirt.

    top 5 favorite anything

Hmm....in no order: 1. Kiki's Delivery Service(my favorite Miyzaki movie) 2. Enter the Dragon(Return may have a more realistic end fight, but Enter is just such a classic and the first real kung fu movie I ever saw) 3. Citizen Kane(not sure it's the best movie of all time, but it's very, very good) 4. Dracula(Bela's best movie, of course, and it avoids some of the weird issues White Zombie has that drags that down) 5. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home honorable mentions: Kill Bill Volume 1(yes, I like spotfets) City Hunter(Jackie at his slapstick best) Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind(I've begun to like this better than Princess Mononoke) Return of the Dragon(Bruce Lee's best end fight, it showed such promise had he not died) Original Star Wars Trilogy(first live action movies I liked) Robin Hood(my favorite Disney movie) I watch mostly wrestling and anime TV shows, though, so there's a lot of mainstream stuff I've missed

    Wrestlemania 22 article

Agreed, it's amazing how he seemed to be back to the old Taz with just a towel and a mean look on his face, but he needs his neck sugery before he can wrestle

    RIP Proof from D-12

I know nothing about the fellow other than his last album had him sorta hugging a skeleton and it was called "Searching for Jerry Garcia" or something to that effect because it came out on the 10th anniversary of Jerry's death. I suppose it's a tend ironic, but anyhow, it's sad, so RIP.

    Merging Championships

I'm personally a fan of a lot of titles, especially in an e fed because it does make you feel proud to hold a title, and right now the Heartland is suffering because I couldn't handle writing the feud, it's not Alfdogg's fault, so I say no

    "Traditonal Fans"

Doesn't Shawn Michaels kill this argument? Cena gets booed because they don't like him and they don't want to see him with the title. It's as simple as that. Michaels can actually GO when he has to, wonky match formula aside, HBK has a more varied offense and he's one of those guys who can take a great beating when he wants to. Cena has an offense that's about as limited as Hogan's without Hogan's willingness to use cheap shots to mix up his strikes and I'll take the Superkick over the FU anyday

    "Traditonal Fans"

It's not even a Death Valley Driver, it's a standing Fireman's Carry. But I've been saying forever, when he did the sitout version, it looked SO much better, but the F-U in it's most used form is only above the Worm in my book. Also, might I note that Cena is frickin lazy, even on little obvious things. Like when he came back from the "stabbing" at Survivor Series, he did not even bother to tape up. You see this dude in darn good shape who was supposedly stabbed in the kidney or something and he has no scar or anything. At least tape up. That's another reason why I don't like him. It's not just the rap gimmick or the lame finisher, I can get around both(I like D'Lo and Ron Killings on the rape side and I liked Too Cool, Dreamer, and Raven on the weak finisher side) but he's just lazy on little things and heck, I don't think even Hogan was made as invincible as Cena has been booked. Another thing, what's this "Hustle, Loyalty, Respect" thing? He's a thug, or at the very least a whigger, I'll even give him the Eminem white boy rapper deal. Hustling has to do with drugs or pimps, doesn't it? Loyalty and Respect are more mafia things as I see it, but it's like he's just soooo watered down that I don't think anyone in the real rap community(beside this Trademarc fellow who seems to like him) could take him vaguely seriously, nor do it. I know I'm rambling here, but I'm getting to my point. I don't care if he's ghetto or if he came from a rich town or whatever. He comes off like a total poser, and he has no edge to him, which is essential to being the underdog rapper. If he wants to go down this way, he should be the corporate rapper, like 50 Cent. That's how I see him, anyhow. Lots of "bling bling" and almost no substance.

    Good site for music torrents

If you want free Indie music, you can't go wrong with Archive.org, they have a few lives shows by Someone/some people called Radioactive which is rap, but if you look in open source music there'll be stuff there too. Also Garageband.com has rap

    Eddy Guerrero passes away

Despite the fact that I own the memorial shirt, it still doesn't feel like he's dead sometimes. It almost feels like he went on vacation. I don't know why, maybe I'm trying to deny reality...

I wrote it, and I do like it quite a bit. Brock is just so sadistic in a way few others can be because he's a freak of nature, so strong and athletic. I'm particularly happy with the standing katahajime spot. It's like Joe's choke, except he made Otaku stand, making it even more bleak because Otaku can't fight and it just shows how bad the shape he was in.

    OAOAST Survey

I certainly have no problem with it, and that poster is quite cool. It reminds me, I'll need to find a new picture for Otaku now that he'll be going maskless

Thanks for that. I usually write these things when I'm alone with my latop and an idea pops into my head, so I try to get at least part of it down before I forget it, because I am the ultimate scatterbrain. This means I write on the train a lot. I'll certainly try to work on things when I come back. School is killing my brain.

    The best comparison...

Agreed, Hogan busted his BUTT trying to make Andre look very good, and Andre wearing the singlet helped make him look healthier[look at him at Wrestlemania 1 or 2 and tell me that's a healthy man,I dare you] and since I've just seen 2 and 3, I was thinking of 2 mostly, sorry for not being more specific
