I've only gone to one real concert that wasn't connected to a religous event(those two were Jars of Clay and Sixpence None the Richer, if you care) but this year I got to see Puffy AmiYumi in the Somerville Theater, really a movie theater, but they were plain out awesome, even if they did chat too much in Japanese(they're a Japanese pop duo and there seemed to be a large Japanese contingent in the audience), and despite my fears of bad mixing due to the drums drowning out the opening act, Puffy was mixed perfectly and they sound even better live, I hope they put out a live album sometime because there's just so much energy when they're more guitar reliant on stage than they are in the studio. Nice mix of Japanese and English songs too.

Who should TNA go after next and who's available
Masked Man of Mystery replied to a topic in TNA Wrestling
It probably has something to do with the fact that most of the Japanese population wouldn't laugh at you if you told them you're a wrestler, whereas the myth of wrestling has long since been dead and most folks think you're an idiot for watching it. Perfect example: I put TNA on the TV at work(we have a DVR in the cable box) and people complain about not wanting to watch it because it's fake and all this but they'll happily go and see King Kong or something, because, you know, that's perfectly real or something -
Didn't Benoit and Regal wrestle on that Pillman Memorial Show while working for either WWF or WCW?

What IS patchouli oil? Also, interesting to note, I've never heard the Dead or Phil Lesh(their bassist) with his band jam on certain songs, Dire Wolf in particular. I dunno if other jam bands have songs like that

I'm personally a big fan of the Grateful Dead, and I think I can fairly say the Dead don't sound much like Dave Matthews. The Dead have a old school rock/country basis to their music I've never noticed in Matthews. Keep in mind, genres are funny things, though. Especially now, where people are more likely to cross over even the more defined genres I suppose I should correct myself, I'm hardly a Deadhead, but I have listened to a bunch of the better Dead shows and since Archive.org took the soundboards off for downloading I've been getting into Phil Lesh's band. I should also say that I respect that people don't like the Dead, but I can't see why you'd want to lose your hearing rather than listen to them. The Dead at least aren't THAT bad. Go check out archive.org or gdlive.com if you want to give them a little more time.

My stuff will be late, but don't sweat it, I'l get it in tonight/tomorrow morning and it can be added in without affecting the rest of the show too much

Comments that don't warrant a thread
Masked Man of Mystery replied to {''({o..o})''}'s topic in Video Games
the GH I'm most interested in right now is Star Ocean, especially with the extra disc now. Is that game any kind of good? I loved Final Fantasy X if that's a good frame of reference -
No one in WWE should be wearing plain black wrestling tights. Austin was old school and the "common man" so it was fine, but Luther Reigns wearing plain tights when he was up looked bad, in my eyes at least. Also, Rey's pants in WWe just don't match up to his cool WCW and ECW tights. I was also a fan of London's old tights, and him dropping the tassles kind of sucks. My biggest complaint would be Cena, though. I hate the low hanging jeans. I don't need to see the man's underwear.

Everyone did a really great job on the show, COD/GPX and Serena/Molly were my two favs not involving my characters. Excellant stuff all around and now I have a month off from school where I can hopefully write some good matches.

If all goes well John Smith with Sam Jackson vs. Asmodai with Satan's Foot Soldiers
-
She looked much better at Hardcore Homecoming, I hope they're from before, personally
-
Is this what happened? If so it's horrible, R.I.P. http://www.prowrestling.com/news.php?id=16397/articles/news

okay, I'm not writing the match for tonight, don't worry about it, will do it for the next show
-
I sure hope he turns out okay
-
Belial was his name in SFS, since they all had devil names and John Smith would sound odd. He got the tar kicked out of him by them, so now he's semi normal again. I'll write up an interview if I do put the match on

The OAOAST Climax 2005 Predictions Thread!
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Ed Wood Caulfield's topic in Brandon Truitt
Poppick/Knight I think Knight since the title has been changing hands an awful lot lately and I don't think we want emo kid Knight X/Otaku We'll see Stevens/Alfdogg Alfdogg, he's been on a frickin' tear Suspects/Express Usual Suspects, the Midnights have been in a funk(at least in my mind, I could be totally off) Black T/Wright and Bohemoth Black T, they've just been dominating Parka/O'Hara Parka, he's been really hot and O'Hara needs more time before he's ready, I think Ayane/Sharcor we'll see Rockers/SCM Rockers get their revenge Street/Benefactor Street for the unmasking Foshi's match is a squash 6Man Tag not sure, I'd tend to go with SHI though Molly/Serena Molly, if only because Serena has ring rust LC/Anti LC Anti LCs, Puerto Rican's willing to job when his title isn't on the line ; ) GPX/COD COD get the job from this week back -
I'm thinking of adding John Smith(formerly Belial) and Sam Jackson vs. Satan's Foot Soldiers, but don't hold me to it

Some of those eye makeup pics look like wrestlers, I saw one that looked like Golddust's, or should I saw, the makeup looked like wrestling facepaint, not the actual people, although a wrestling goth would be kinda cool....the Brood was sorta, and I always liked them
-
I suppose there's also Mario baseball...I keep meaning to give that a try
-
I'm none of the above, just remember him from the glory days and see that he can still kina go. He's fine where he is in TNA as long as he stops no showing
-
My favorites are: NBA Live '96 NBA Jame TE NBA Hangtime I really want to check out the 2K college games, will probably get last year's used after I get my new memory card, but does the new one have the horrible ads like NBA 2K6? I seriously refuse to buy that game just because of that
-
Because the Hardys were among the first wrestlers I liked when I got into wrestling, I will always have a soft spot for both of them, so I hope Jeff gets his head together and TNA keeps him

Seriously, the war on Christmas as it should be(and I fully admit I celebrate it the wrong way) was lost long ago enough that it was part of the Charlie Brown Christmas Special, for God's sake. What's happening today is people realizing that not everyone is a Christian and trying to adapt things so as to be slightly more welcoming to people who don't believe the Savior was born 2000 years ago in a barn(in case you're wondering/forgot, I'm a very liberal Catholic). That's my take on it, anyhow. It does indeed get silly, there's ways around things like this(like singing Frosty the Snowman), but the uber conservative Christians who act like we're a Christian Iran just can't lighten up and realize that people will see that it's silly if left alone, they just encourage this sort of nonsense and further "culture wars" despite America being primarily Christian

Are we talking in terms of charts or in terms of careers? I always thought one hit wonders were bands/singers that were hot for maybe a year before fading into pretty much nothing.
