OAO "Holy shit, Kurt Angle is in TNA now" thread...
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Downhome's topic in TNA Wrestling
Just a crazy idea: he talks about doing "real wrestling" Would it be possible that he goes to this style where he does more simple amateur style instead of the high impact spot style he worked in WWE? Might that be a tad safer? Mind you...I'd really rather he stayed home, but I don't think he would no matter what -
Bill Clinton defends his record on terrorism
Masked Man of Mystery replied to SuperJerk's topic in Current Events
That sure as fuck is a long time between a claim and the response. Let's say either he or Bush came closer. What does that matter? Nobody's playing horseshoes. I'm not even dignifying the post above with a response now, nor will I wait two years and then make one. I think Clinton was trying to point out that the Democrats can be strong on terror, and he was working on it, which is contrary to the claims made by multiple members of the Bush Administration and right wing pundits -

I think Raven was cleaned up before or cleaned up during his TNA run, right now he's dealing with the after effects of it -
Remember he tried to get a podcast for this site going? Those were awesome, It's a shame no one could pick up the slack.

This was very early in my run here, but I believe there was something about him posting rips from Raw 2 or something and claiming they were his, not the effort of whoever actually did the ripping

Blitz the League is now a Greatest Hit on PS2. I grabbed it this weekend, it still has the feel of the one I played on the N64, which is really cool. I'll try to come back and say more after I play more than the one game I did, but for now I will say this: long load times pre game -
Kurt Angle agent releases statement
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in The WWE Folder
That just reminds me of that horrific KO Tank had where he nailed the guy so hard his neck was bent at an awkward angle, and it makes me cringe -
My sentiments exactly

He was also pretty good at Hardcore Homecoming last year. Age has slowed him down some, but he's still 2 Cold Scorpio, by God

I love Angelic Layer if only for the killer clothesline that girl throws in the first episode/volume...I think it looked better in the manga, though. I think she uses a Boston crab later, as well. Speaking of wrestling moves, have there been any good wrestling anime since Tiger Mask? The only thing I can think of that came close was Ayane's High Kick, which inspired one of my OAOAST character, but it's still more about kickboxing than wrestling

I guess I go to a special EB, the guys there are always very nice to me, they ask nicely if I want the protection plan or whatever, an are really cool about answering my sometimes odd questions. -
They're ripping off the Metroid logo

Is there ANYTHING off limits for vince to try?
Masked Man of Mystery replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
He seemed to have some class as the geeky announcer/interviewer in the 70s(see the Billy Graham DVD for reference) Oh, and excuse me for going off topic for a moment, but this appeared on top of the page where I typed this reply -
Any opinions so far? I've never seen a ton of opinions on the show, so I'm interested in seeing one or two beside the anime on dvd one

I also work at Best Buy, and I deal with a fair amount of people for whom English isn't a first language. I'm fine with that. I even sold a stereo to someone on the Cuban soccer team. They were passing by on the way to play the New England Revolution or the US team, I don't recall, and no one was in who spoke Spanish, so I did a lot of demonstrating and such. Pretty neat. Anyhow...I'm a pale white dude who usually hangs out in the stereo section nowadays. Somehow....people have the idea that I may just speak Spanish. I'm an Italian dude with an Irish first name, it doesn't really bother me so much as I find it odd. I also hate people who think that because I don't know about stuff in some departments or we don't have something and they go beserk. The worst is, I work in the DVD and games and such section, which is right in front of the Home Theater section, which is mostly TVs and especially plasma and LCD, which were just coming in when I left Home Theater, AND I personally think they're a scam, Plasmas in particular, so I have to refer them to the usually busy HT team. Customers don't like it much, though. I remember one guy, I was bringing something over to computers with my return bin in hand, and this guy asks me about something. I explain very nicely(it had been tax free weekend and I had had a long, long day, so I was remarkably polite) that I don't work there and was picking up my bin to go back to Media when he said something sarcastic like "oh yeah, that's why you're ignoring me" which just makes no sense, so, for the first time ever in my 5 years in that store, I threw up my hands and just said "believe what you want to believe, sir" I really do try to be as nice as possible, but some people are just plain idiots -
His face is wasted behind a mask. I'll say it again, he has great facial expressions. Hair, sure, but the mask is a hindrance as far as I'm concerned.

It's a good James Bond-y type show, I really liked it, but fair warning, it does have a weird ending
-
For folks who have a Strawberries nearby, at least at the one near me, they have big $2 used DVD bins. I've found the first disc of Super Gals, Aura Battler Dunbine, and Full Metal Panic, and the Nadesico movie in there, plus I saw the Love Hina Spring Movie, but that wasn't good at all as I recall, so I didn't bother. I also found a HK copy of A Better Tomorrow 3 and a DVD of old, old wrestling stuff(had a Lou Thesz match), so it may be worth digging through

It's more a matter of needing certain techniques or gold or having enough hit points to hang through attacks long enough to heal. -
But at the same time, he did them so well that people bought him as what he is, I'm not sure everyone can pull it off. I think the closest comparison really is Monty Brown, and even Monty isn't as over as Goldberg. It'd help if the Pounce was a full spear, though

I really like Arizona as well, and they're the cheapest iced tea to get around here, but I haven't noticed a ton of difference among Arizona, Snapple, and Lipton. Nestea bottled is God awful, though

I'm thinking it's either fake or was partially faked, especially toward the bottom of the text -
If Angle goes anywhere...I want him to go to Hustle, but I more don't want him to go anywhere

Orton isn't a horrible wrestler, but he's not great either. He's very stupid to keep getting himself in trouble, though

Kane is one of my all time favorite big men, I've liked him ever since I got into wrestling in '99. Solid, solid worker, sold well even with the mask, got stuck with stupid feud after stupid feud, and stills busts his tail. Here's the funny thing, though, after years behind that mask, right after he took it off, he had awesome, awesome facial expressions. I so wish he was on Smackdown so I could see him more often. Kane is, in my opinion, one of the most under rated wrestlers of the modern era, far better than he has any right to be. He deserves one decent run with one of the World belts before he retires. Keep Taker far, far away from him though. The only problem is all 3 brands have strong heel champs, and I don't know if he can get enough sympathy as a face to draw. I know he's best as the demonic smashing machine with seemingly inhuman endurance and strength....and I just can't see him working unless they have Cena beat Edge and then have Kane kill Cena, but I don't want to delve too far into potential fantasy booking
