Suspiciously busty 13 year-old girls! Actually, Osaka(the girl in my avatar) is a high school student and considered among the "Japanese" of the group in the animeie she's relatively under developed, see the anime Azumanga Daioh for an explaination. Here's a profile. and here are some more pics

I'll make a brief cameo here and make a non political statement. I had a shot at going to a Catholic school, but instead I went to Boston Latin, one of the best schools in the country and yes, a public school.

    A simple question

If the TV doesn't have an HD tuner, you need some kind of set top box to decode the HD signal. Cable/Sat Tv boxes that are HDTV compatible do this as well. It depends on the TV and your source

Well, it shows the Pope has some sense... -=Mike ...I'd be more sympathetic towards Muslims, if they weren't involved in killing innocent people so frequently... Mike, I hope very sincerely that you never get to a position of power in the government. Branding Muslims as being unworthy of your sympath because some of them are extremists who kill people is like calling all Catholics pedophiles because of the priests all Italians as part of the Mafia, oir all white people as racists because of the KKK. I have tried to engage in serious political debate with you in the past and I admit you have proven me wrong in the past but this post here shows me that you are no longer worth engaging in debate with. I am not going to sink to your level and engage in name calling. I'm leaving this part of the board now and I hope I never come back. And I hope your xenophobic behind gets bannned. If someone else(besides Mike and KKK, who called me a hippie because I called Fox News a crock of you know what after he posted a similar message about the NY Times), PM me. Catch you all in the wrestling forums.

What, exactly, is wrong with talking about equal pay? If they're discussing the wage gap between the sexes, then the problem is that it's an utter myth. -=Mike Really? Infoplease disagrees

I like AL Franken, but he's best when doing skits, not straight up interviews. I get one of those semi AA stations, so we get Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller. Miller is good, but I'm usually listening to Howard Stern for most of her show, then I'm in school. Schultz is okay, but he seems to take way too many commercial breaks. I can't really speak for Morning Sedition, although I did laugh when I tuned in once and Mick Foley put some arch conservative in an armbar. I've liked the bit of Rhodes and Springer(yes, Jerry Springer doing liberal talk radio, it's good) I've heard. My biggest problems are: 1. it's on a Clear Channel station 2. it gets very hard to tune in past 6 pm or so because they have to turn down their power in the evening or something. if they had a more powerful signal, I might listen to them more during the "dead" parts of my day(3-7 basically if I'm not in class). As it is, I still like NPR better.

Again, I must draw Hogan comparisons. His promos were often very out there, and his finisher was a simple leg drop made fancy because it was preceeding with the goofiest sequence ever that involved breaking kayfabe with a bunch of superhuman no-selling. But it worked, and it got over, and it made the company money. Again, as a person who wants to see good wrestling, you may not like Cena. But for the general audience that doesn't seek their entertainment in pure workrate, he gets the job done. Give me the Legdrop Of Doom anyday. Having a 300 lb man drop his leg across your throat would probably hurt more than going through a slightly elevated fireman's carry. If he tweaked his move JUST the slightest, just did the DVD right, or did the spinout bomb I'd be happy. Well, not happy, but I'd buy him pinning someone a bit more.

Old TV shows you want back on TV

I'd like to see REAL Star Trek on network TV(ie anything but Enterprise). I'd also like to see the old school TMNT, Underdog, Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers, and Darkwing Duck. In other words, I wish I were a kid again.

But they're getting over, so doesn't that make it a success? It's like complaining about Hogan tearing his t-shirt or doing the ear-cup thing. Sure it looks stupid, but it IS over. I'm still suprised how quickly "Waaah, they need to put over young guys!" becomes "Waaah, they spend too much energy on young guys!" Maybe if they brought in more talented young guys, I'd say okay, and heck, I'd be willing to work with Cena if he even used that spinout powerbomb as a finish, but between the horrid finisher, the spinning belt, and some BAD promos(although he's getting better since he got the belt), he just seems like...I don't know, a very desperate appeal to the hip hop crowd. I like how D'Lo pulled it off better myself.

Because Cena had been putting on God awful matches for as long as I can recall with one of the suckiest finishers in history AND he keeps getting these stupid spinner belts?

Jennifer Government is pretty good, not the best book I've ever read, but not bad at all. Wouldn't recomend it for anyone who's for market deregulation, but hey, can't please everyone. Joe Canseco's book was insufferable, I could barely get into it before I said "screw this." I brought that back and now I'm working through Eric Idle's new book. It's pretty good so far.

The "What Are You Reading Right Now" Thread

I had been working through an audiobook of I Am Charlotte Simmons for a while but its the library's and there's a bunch of people behind me and I just didn't have time to work through 22 discs so I brought it back after getting through the first 5. Good stuff, but I hope things tie together better as it goes. I'm currently listening to Jennifer Government since I've been doing Nationstates for a while. It's good, but again, too many characters playing loose where I am in the book. I also just got Jose Canseco's book through the library and I'm hoping to make progess on that tomorrow. He was one of my first fav players as I was getting into baseball back in '95(for reasons I cannot figure out anymore, he wasn't that good by that point) but I'm interested to see what is so very controversial in it.
