God, I've only heard of two bands you people have mentioned and I work in the CD/DVD/video games section of a Best Buy. Where do you people find this stuff, and what genres are they?

And TV ratings(in the US at least) get even weirder. I remember someone taped Princess Mononoke for me off Starz back when I didn't have a DVD player and the tape was rental only, and they taped over long so the tape also had the first half hour or so of Ghost in the Shell. They said 14 and up and the movie opens with a naked woman(okay she has some sort of invisible armor on but the point is you can see everything Japanese law allows you to see) jumping off a building and popping a dude's head like it's a ripe melon with a pistol. And that's just the first 3 minutes or something. I also recall getting nervous one year when the Thanksgiving Smackdown got an MA rating or something for the catfight in the gravy(think it was 99 or 2000) because I had no idea what could make wrestling(a perpetual TV 14 item) get the MA on broadcast TV. Turned out to be nothing, really. By the way, Ghost In the Shell got an R from the MPAA. For more of their sillyness, see articles on the View Askew movies, or the extras on the Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back DVD.

Where To Purchase Anime?
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Television & Film
I can't speak for Canadian prices, but Best Buy usually has some nice anime deals and ADV seems to be having sales very few months on their site for that might be worth checking out too. -
Is Raven still using his odd ripoff of Come as you are or whatever it's called by nirvana?

April, 7, 2005 WWE SmackDown! Thread

Cena had better not get a custom belt. He should be getting serious now and if he's really the wrestling fan they play him up to be he'd understand that you respect titles and don't make ones that spin just for kicks. As far as I'm concerned, the only time a cutsom belt should ever be used is in a case like the FTW belt where its part of the story and actually an independent title. -
I'm not so sure GG was ever supposed to be gay as much as he was very, very arrogant and more like Ric Flair(ie he could bring the goods if needed to, but he'd rather win the easy way and make himself feel superior by screwing with people). At least that's what I get from reading about the character. Effeminate yes, but more in a sort of metrosexual way than oh, say Rico

Did they feed it to a Robotech watching audience? I mean, they HAD to know what they were walking into.

The Gundams I've seen are generally pretty good, and you can get them much more easily in subtitled form than you can get Macross(the other two got released in box sets by ADV, but Macross got put out by Animeigo, if I recall, and they just have all kinds of trouble getting thier stuff out, it would seem). I'd recomend seeing if you can rent Gundam Wing, at least. That way you won't have to worry about the Universal Century continuity while you're trying to get into the mood of the show, grab the UC stuff(which is most everything not Gundam Wing or G Gundam, not sure about Seed) later

ADV is having a big sale on some of their stuff online through the weekend. I wanted to pas along the info, that's all

How would WWE react in the event of a tragedy?
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Dimensions's topic in The WWE Folder
I'd say the brand split would end, then things would go back to normal. They unify the titles at the next PPV and move on. The roster's too big as it is. I don't want anyone to die to trim it, though. -
Neither could I Fox "News"

Cena needs to go back to his old music badly. This doesn't even sound much like any gangsta rap I've heard on the radio(I work in Best Buy, there's no way to avoid it) what with the horns and all. -

Point taken about Malkin, but that's another issue. -

I just googled Michelle Malkin, and I'm pretty sure she's out of her mind. She wrote a book about how racial profiling during WWII was a GOOD idea. -

Uh...Ms. Malkin has some flaws in her argument there. Terri cannot learn ANYTHING. She does not have a cerebral cortex anymore! Enough is enough. Also, I would call getting fed through a tube life support. At this juncture, I am sick, sick, sick of this case, sick of people making things up about this case, and desptie the fact that I'd personally rather seee her go offf to whatever afterlife there is, right now I wish he had just said keep the bloody tubes in and this would have been a non event. -

No one's heard of the guy who runs http://instapundit.com/? He's a conservative college professor. -
I always like when wrestlers come out in robes, it just looks so cool. I also liked both of Hayabusa's entrance things, the kimono looking robe and the body armor both looked awesome, and the armor especially with his entrance. I also liked Vader's mastadon mask. I remeber seeing him in a cage match at a Beach Blast or something and Hogan goofed on him by putting it on and stumbling around. AJ Styles' vest is pretty cool too.

Abu Gharib, no. Mikey Moore -- not EVERY discussion, although it seems like it at times. And my "Mikey" in this case was for Terri's lesser half. However, since "Mikey" usually means Mr. Moore at this place, I shouldn't have said "Mikey" in this instance. I throw myself upon the mercy of this board... My bad, I apologize for the misunderstanding. -

At least she didn't put undies on Terri's head. And if Mikey is ever put on life support, I'm sure you'll be able to find a few people out there willing to pull the plug *raises hand...* Why do you feel it necessary to bring Abu Gharib and Michael Moore into this discussion? -

If you gave her water, she WOULD die right now. She cannot swallow. -
I'd have liked to see them use basic pro style storylines ie arrogant wrestlers, etc. and have each PERSON working for belts in the weight divisions ala MMA with custom gear as long as it conforms to MMA style rules ie vale tudo shorts, singlets, short tights, probably not muay thai shorts and use "real" (I'd go for worked shoot style) amateur matches
-
I'd have to vouch for "An Old Raincoat Won't let You Down" by Rod Stewart( aka the Rod Stewart Album) or the Beach Boy's Live In London(or whatever that was called)

Okay, I can work with that. If that were the law of the land, I'd say okay. However, where's the outrage about this story? the Sun Hudson case
