Why in the name of God would the Japanese government hate the US right now? Let's ignore Iraq right now. There is no reason on the fac of this earth that any member of the current Japanese government would hate the US except maybe North Korea, and to think that a 20 or 320 something wrestler would is nuts.

Weren't you the one who was whining about Benoit's promo on RAW? I respect thaty you don't care for Benoit's promos, you respect the fact that I HATE nationality gimmicks, k? Yeah, but you seem to be, how can I can I put this, SERIOUS. Relax, the evil foriegner gimmick still works fine. Don't get your panties in a bunch just because the Japanese are the bad guys this time round. It may work, but I feel ignorant if I'm watching and I see it. And this isn't the first time. I was very much against the La Resistance angle when I heard about that. There's a better way to do a foreigner gimmick. Tajiri does it well. He walks a certain way, he fights a certain way, it looks unorthodox, even in the cruiser division. He sells his Japanese hertitage in his mannerisms, not "Oh, I'm Japanese, I am better than you Western swine!" Of course, I also cringed every time Tajiri came out with Torrie and they said that he made her dress up like a geisha. Uh, she wasn't, not really. She was just dressed in a kimono. It's true geisha wear them, but so do normal Japanese women. If she had the white facepaint, then we'd be in business, but the WWE is just so bloody zenophobic. If he becomes like Kaientai and just waves the flag, then I wont be bothered so much, but if he's pulling the "I am not American, therefore I am superior and also evil!" gimmick. If teye do that, I am not going to watch. They won;t give my favorite wrestlers airtime and they do stuff I think is stupid, I put my money and time elsewhere. Seems logical enough to me.

It's not really THAT big a deal... Yes it bloody is, we should be above this. Japan, to the best of knowedge, long ago dropped the "oh, he's a gaijin, therefore, he's evil" routine a while ago.

I said it before, I'll say it again, PUT THE CRUISERS ON A SHOW FOR KIDS. That way I get my Paul London and Bill Kidman and Hurricane fix, the WWE sells a LOT of actions figures and other merch, and they build up a loyal audience who can keep watching this and move into Smackdown/RAW

I liked the guy when I was a mark, but every time I see an Austin match these days I am bored to death(even older ones) and frankly, I'd rather see Hogan wrestle. Even now, Hogan is more entertaining than Austin in my opinion.

Correction - the rest of the show is leading SD to all time ratings lows. Eddy's title reign is just along for the ride. WWE officials need to look at the rest of the show before they panic & take the belt off Eddy. Putting it on Cena without changing anything else isn't going to improve anything. Ultimo Dragon as Cruiser champ = ratings my friend!

It depends on what you're doing. A person need something to make them more than a guy in a pair of tights, but to what extent you do nit must be very carefully considered. The Hurricane works for Shane Helms, but could Rob Van Dam pull off something at a similar level? Doubtful. Of course, I also hate all nationality gimmicks. From Akeem The African Dream(from what I've read about the character) to La Resistance, they just come off as very, very stupid. Instead, you make Rene Dupree into the most arrogant guy every, but lose the poodle and the flag, for example.

The discussion over in Movies about the DVD release got me thinking, which books would you want done into a movie, and do you think they could be done? I'd like to see something done with Wedge, maybe the first part of the X Wing series where he establishes the new Rogue Squadron, but I think it'd be better as direct to video or TV movies.
