2008 World Series: Philadelphia Phillies vs. Tampa Bay Rays
USC Wuz Robbed! replied to Bored's topic in Sports
Silly point to nitpick, but since you put the word "ray" in quotes, your intent to pun is apparent. -
Ah now I get it. Jokes! I like jokes.

I know about cadavers and all that but I'm not completely grasping the notion of muscles/ligaments being HAUNTED?
-
That's the key word, although by most sources, that outcome is doubtful.

WWE To Now Exclusively Call Their Talent "Entertainers"
USC Wuz Robbed! replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm not so sure it isn't one. The constant references to workers as "entertainers" tears at the suspension of disbelief. It's one thing to know that pro wrestling isn't real. It's another thing altogether to have that fact forcibly shoved down one's throat. This is why I'm surprised at the lack of reaction to the MVP contract storyline. It practically spells out that it's fake. -
I just realized I'm the only person in the draft that has yet to select a female.

Breaking news: Mike Singletary finally becomes a head coach, by being named interim coach in the wake of Mike Nolan's firing. NFL.COM Link

I'd agree mostly, except want to say an 1 loss LSU would make it in over USC. After all, that's what happened last year, except add a loss per the two teams.

Supposedly Brett Favre may have called Detroit Lions with tips on how to beat the Packers last month. Of course it didn't work, as evident by Detroit's record, but if true, that's something despicable. Linky

Well I was referring to Kinetic's comment about cold weather cities=hockey ok, anywhere else=no. If he listed Memphis, then you'd assume he meant Nashville, in terms of real teams.
-
There's no Memphis but there's Nashville, which is just as bad as if there was a Memphis team.

Check out Gone Baby Gone, which is like definitive proof of what an amazing actress Amy Ryan is; she can play really sweet, likable characters like Holly or Beadie Russell on The Wire (which you should also watch because everybody should watch The Wire), and then she can also play... well, what she played in Gone Baby Gone, which is like the ultimate nasty bitch. She seriously might be my favorite actress going today, she's so good at making all of her characters so distinctive and interesting. In the words of a critic, Amy Ryan managed to make one of the least sympathetic figures in the movie much more sympathetic than the role had any right being.

I don't know how they created the grading system or what they look for, but here's the updated grades (MNF game excluded)- Prisco's Grades
-
First of all, I already acknowledged their poor defense yesterday. Second of all, I didn't personally claim they were the best team in the NFC. I said that this grading system makes them the best team in the NFC. I don't know what they grade on, but this is the average for the entire season up to this point. So I guess Bears gets a lot of "A" performances and very few performances that ranks below a "C". And thirdly you cannot deny that the Bears could easily be 7-0, even in that game against your Bucs. I think that makes them a playoff level team, who probably won't go much further into the playoffs. My personal opinion is this: The best team in the NFC has to be Tampa or Carolina. Tampa if Garcia stays, Carolina if Gruden tinkers with that again.
-
On a related but not really, note- I was looking at Sportsline, and there's these "grades" for NFL teams' performances week in and week out- well according to those "GPAs", the best team in the AFC is Tennessee with a 3.38 GPA, the best team in the NFC? Chicago Bears at 2.96. The Giants clock in at 2.95, just one point behind. The Bucs have a 2.81, just in case people were wondering. This tells me that the Bears look very impressive in their wins (except against Minnesota, defensively), and in their three losses, blew it in the end. The Bears could easily be 7-0. It's silly to say this, but they are definitely the best 4-3 team in the league so far.

Discussion: Bluring / Removing "WWF" and scratch logos from
USC Wuz Robbed! replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
This or at least make the adjustments way back then, so that there's no blurring to be had. -
I'd switch USC and Oklahoma. Losing to Texas > Losing to Oregon State.
