In the context of what they had planned, sure. In retrospect, no.

Yes, Bruiser, Czech can be blamed for a lot of the Cubs hate around here. In my case, I never thought much of the whole Cubs/White Sox rivalry before I joined TSM, it was like the Cubs were just there for me. But ever since Czech started in on that holier than thou bullshit where he condemns White Sox for the most minor transgressions all the while espousing the values of the Cubs who at the same time had the same unsavory elements, just drove me to root harder and harder against the Cubs in passing years.

Don't forget the "Whoo!" in that rant.

This Sox defense is proving my concern for them playing at Tropicana Field. Brutal. Pitching isn't much better either.

I don't even like Dallas and I don't mind getting their games. Their offense is sweet to watch sometimes.

Well that's good I guess. See where he fits in the new lineup with Rose/Hinrich/Deng/Nocioni/etc. If he performs well, give him a good deal next year, if not, let him walk.

Fair enough.

Actually the White Sox are quite popular in Southern California for whatever reason. Matt can get by with that.
-
How would you realign it? Or is it just the name that bugs you? I did always find the whole division alignment for NBA a bit weird. The names of the divisions and who are in each.
-
I think it's silly what Matt Young is doing, but let's not act like such an act will send TSM crashing down to a pile of rubble.
-
While I see that point, the White Sox and Angels are built to win it all NOW. Tampa Bay would conceivably be back many Octobers in the near future if their progress keeps up. They do field one of the youngest teams in the majors.
-
I'm surprised there's a fair bit of people here that thinks the White Sox will defeat the Tampa Bay Rays. I'd like to hear the reasoning for that. I'm being optimistic about their chances but I don't think Tropicana Field (where the majority of the series will be played) plays to the White Sox's strengths.
-
Not to mention the Red Sox play in a division with OMG 3 BEST TEAMZ EVAH, so they'll be used to the stiff competition in October.
-
Well the White Sox are full of fair weather fans. So he wouldn't really be out of norm. But I'm glad I'm being recognized as a legitimate fan of the White Sox.

When you are the head coach, you naturally assume you have a larger scope of control. I know still fly brought up the point that he was a rookie head coach, going to a team that has an owner notorious for wanting full control to himself, but when you ARE the head coach, you want to coach to your strengths, which means getting the right personnel, the right staff, the right philosophy. Otherwise you'll fail coaching a system you aren't familiar with. That said, it's done with. Kiffin's out. Davis's still the owner. He wins.
