Don't forget Carlos Zambrano. Not sure if he's playing or not, but he would get a ring in any event that the Cubs won it all.
-
Yeah, when I first came to San Diego, and I was applying for an apartment in the area, the first thing my prospective landlord asked me upon learning I was from Chicago was this: "Oh you like the Cubs? Been to Wrigley Field?" That said, at this point, I'm playing a slight gimmick here with the Cubs hater shtick. I wouldn't jump off the cliff if the Cubs won it all. In fact, you know what, I'd pat them on the back and say, "Finally. Now shut the fuck up." So there ya go, the REAL opinion of mine. I won't want to see them there, but I won't actually mind if they did make it there. I'm not Czech here or anything like that.

King, I like you. I like you a lot. That said, you're nuts to like Al Davis. I saw the same press conferences and Kiffin came off better than Davis did IMO. I mean, the strong side of Davis's argument is that Kiffin didn't want JaMarcus Russell. That's a lost battle.

I can understand why people don't like Ozzie. He is a very abrasive personality who will throw people under the bus if it means saving his own ass. But hey, look it, the Sox are better with him than without. So I put up with his antics. And Matt, I was just as pessimistic about the Sox this year, because they haven't looked that convincing as contenders, but I did not once proclaim the season to be over after Tigers scored a run. Matt, in fact, I see you're a Dodgers fan as well. They are a lot worse than the White Sox, and yet I don't hear a peep out of you about them. Why don't you root for them full-time? They apparently instill more confidence in you than the White Sox does. As Greg Helms would say, "JUST SAYIN'!"

Is Gallardo that bad that people think the only way Brewers got a shot is if it's Sabathia or bust?
-
And hopefully that stays that way.
-
What are you talking about? I've supported them for the 14 years I've been watching baseball. Just because I was pessimistic about their chances this September, it doesn't make me any less of a fan. Matt, you gave up on them after the Tigers scored a run, come on now. I'm not here to pick on you, but you did have a poor showing around here, and I would know. I'm no stranger to that.

Wow, Triple H doesn't pin Jericho. I'm shocked.

Want: White Sox in 3, Angels in 5 Think: Rays in 4, Red Sox in 4

You're right in that its a divisional game and thus going to be tough, which is why you shouldn't group the Bears in the same category as say, the freakin' Lions. Certainly their play thus far has earned them a tad bit more respect than that. And Minnesota does have Adrian Peterson, and nothing else. The Bears are better at stopping the run than they are stopping the pass. So I see a situation similar to the Tennessee game where Peterson has a decent day but not one that breaks the game for them.
-
What? They have beaten the Colts and Eagles. They lost in the last moments to 3-1 Tampa Bay and 3-1 Carolina. How is that a winnable game?
-
I knew the White Sox weren't liked here, but this was a good game, and well... Cuddyer shouldn't have run out that Griffey throw.
-
They do make a natural villain in the absence of the Yankees.
-
Why the hate? That said: WOOOOOOOO!!!!
-
Actually yes it is. I'd welcome the Sox going to Minnesota today had the coin favored them. I wouldn't be sitting here crying about having to play on the road.

The ironic thing is I notice most of the people in general that are complaining about where this game is played are Twins fans... are you guys that scared of the Cell, where Twins were 2-7? Fact is, if you can't win the game wherever it's played, you don't deserve to be in the playoffs to begin with.
-
Because theoretically, say there was a 8-7 lead for the White Sox in the H2H matchup, with three left. Suppose Twins took 2 out of 3 as opposed to the actual full sweep, it'd be tied, 9-9. What do you do in this instance? The coin flip basically ensures a result either way. It sucks that it has to be enforced now that the Twins won the season series, but this is a fairly logical thing for them to have done at the time.
-
Because the coin flip was done before the Twins swept the White Sox. Prior to this sweep, it was 8-7 in favor of White Sox. Simple as that, really.

You are utterly joking if you think Cable will do any better. However, it's a better choice than Rob Ryan.

Well I'm glad Alabama, not LSU is unofficially #2.

Wow this Angle/Jarrett stuff sounds atrocious.
-
I apologize in advance for sounding insensitive, but he wasn't a big name. So most people are probably going "Who?". The most you'd see is "Oh that sucks. Sorry to hear for that guy."
-
Can you blame me? There's nothing here to show that the White Sox would be a great playoff team. In 2005, when the White Sox was seeing their lead get squandered, they still had a decent September... Cleveland just had a better one. This year? 11-15 is nothing to be excited for, and this was a stretch they knew they had to play well. They're only fortunate the Twins were apparently not that much better. If we win tomorrow, who here actually believes they can beat the Rays in a series? Anyone?

Any time Ray Lewis loses, I'm happy.
