I know what they mean, and I think it's really really moronic. What's the difference of being 10-6 and getting into the playoffs with a win, and 10-6, and getting into the playoffs with a lost? You're still 10-6, and would have made the playoffs either way. I think Herman Edwards already explained this. Each game in the 16 game season counts, not the final one. People seem to think only that last 5 count. Well it would mean your team was handed the playoff spot as opposed to... EARNING it. Same with the Vikings, and both redeemed themselves with wildcard wins.

Alge Crumpler. That may be so, but when I think of Atlanta I don't think "Alge Crumpler". However when I think of San Diego and Kansas City, I do think of their TEs.. that's the only reason I'd rate Gates and Gonzalez ahead of Crumpler.

While he may not have reached his full potential, Steve Largent did well with revolving door QBs.

I think in general WR's and TE's are rarely huge difference makers without at least a good to solid QB. And I've seen TEs (sometimes WRs) be used as a crutch for the QB.

I would agree for the most part, though LT has Priest beat in the youth department.

I can only think of Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates as being key TEs for their offenses....
