Because the "stereotypes" are not always true. Yet you cling on to those like they define your worldview. It's silly and... well it makes you... you.
-
You do realize that Eddie Guerrero considered himself "clean" when in fact he was taking tons of steroids and a lot of painkillers, right? It's very possible that wrestlers aren't going to consider Punk lying or going back on his word if he does steroids, which by the literal definition of "straight edge/clean cut", is a drug. Now I'm not going to attempt to speak with any certainty on this matter, and neither should you. So let's just move on. ( above statement was addressed to mellow) I'm honestly in the same boat as Celtic Jobber. I don't really care either way. I'm just tossing out what I think.

Yeah. It's rather silly to classify people's personalities based on who they root for.
-
Are you referring to this board's members or in general?
-
Yes. Wrestlers have always been truthful about their habits. No, but for Christ's sake, there are some things that I wouldn't bother disputing. Like, for instance, a performer who has been able to back up a claim that nobody has even bothered to refute for over a decade. I'm daring like that.

I didn't know where to talk about it, but after reading about how Vince Young's MRI was rescheduled because Vince's mindset wasn't "right" today, anyone who follows Tennessee closely can tell me what the fuck is going on with him? I don't mean about the injury or his not coming out on the field in the fourth quarter, but the whole situation dating back to when they started having problems?

But see, if the teams would just try to pass against Detroit then the guy they gave up Rogers for gets to show Millen's genius. Too bad with the gate open right there, who needs to pass? And the difference from when Detroit plays them tough is that the guy behind center in Green Bay isn't the fun loving interception throwing warrior. It's the guy who is going to be very very very fucking careful just to redeem the whole offseason debacle.
-
I don't understand what you're going for here? Are you trying to tell me wrestlers are always truthful about their habits and what they do outside the ring?
-
Ahh... well you'd know. My point is, everyone and their mothers is going to run over Detroit.
-
Forgive me in the post-Benoit world when I don't take anything anyone in the business says seriously. I don't know Punk personally. I doubt most of you guys know Punk personally besides the ROH fans that might have hung out with him at one point or another. No one can really ever say for sure. To say he is TRULY 100% sXe and that it isn't to be debated, is just as erroneous as saying he isn't sXe.
-
It's Detroit. Ryan Grant should run over them. Then Brandon Jackson should run over them. Then DeShawn Wynn should run over them. Then to cap it off, Brohm should run over them when Rodgers is pulled in the third quarter (due to it being a blowout).

I actually thought the passing game was slightly decent. Russell was just firing cannonballs into people's hands from 5 yards out. That's fucking hard to catch. I realize that ultimately the blame will fall onto Kiffin, and he probably really isn't suited for a head coaching job in the NFL yet, but I'm not really ready to blame him for this mess just yet. It was a mess before he came in, and it'll be a mess when he leaves. It'll be a mess for as long as Al Davis is the owner of the Raiders. Oh well if he gets fired, he should take an OC job somewhere in the NFL or go back to college.

I believe Punk is sXe, but I also believe it's a gimmick. Remember the best gimmicks are exaggerations of your real personality.
-
Actually I believe it's just a gimmick too, but I doubt he is serving some secret suspension or whatever. The WWE would have announced it.
-
Well if the friend cared enough to find out PPV results, he/she is a fan. And any logical fan would understand what "Orton kicked Punk in the head" means. And they will remember that it's one of the most devastating and well protected finishers in the company today. And to say "Jericho won the title" is oversimplifying things. Clearly such a statement is a misleading and poorly structured one. As it really should be "Jericho simply entered, got laid out, rolled over, and won the title in the last seconds." But of course, not if they are from Louisville. If they are from Louisville, CM Punk got buried.

Still Fly, you do realize it's been the defense (secondary mostly) that's to blame for this shitfest? I mean when you let a rookie receiver playing his very first game run all over you and catch every damned ball that's even floating anywhere near him, you have to go "Where the fuck is Deangelo Hall? Gibril Wilson?" and whoever else is letting the Broncos past them. Lane Kiffin had the right idea wanting to fire the DC. Too bad Al Davis demands full control, even when he has a foot and a half into the grave.
-
I meant in terms of overall package. I'm not going by this year's sample, honest. You're right that Ohio State overall is better than Illinois but Illinois had a pretty good defense and a quarterback that should give any defenses fits. Juice Williams, Todd Boeckman is not. However I'm not here to claim USC will slaughter Ohio State, because I do believe Laurinaitis and company will keep the Trojans somewhat subdued. Still predicting a 35-14 type win for the Trojans though.
-
Well either the Broncos are going to win the AFC West or the Raiders suck again this year. I can't decide which is more likely.
-
Whoa, Rodgers had 16/20 before that completed pass to make it 17/21. Insane.
-
Ah right. Still an odd decision.
-
You know your coaches are confident you can score a TD again when you go for 2 points this early in the quarter.
-
So it looks like while Childress was anticipating someone like Culpepper or McNabb in Jackson, he actually acquired a Vick clone. Just go full on running attack. Well Jackson tosses a TD finally.
-
Nice. Blackmon scores a punt return for a TD and decides he can't do the Leap because he's too gassed.
-
Maybe Childress thought Lovie Smith was onto something about stopping the run before the other team stops it.
