Why would you discount Kevin Youkilis? He's basically right there with Quentin in OBP, OPS and VORP, plays for a better team and contributes Gold Glove defense. I'd take him over Quentin any day. What a shock. A Red Sox fan that thinks his team's player is better than other players. Mark that down as a first.

Nevermind. I saw his average but nothing else. Strike Lofton from the record, but all I want is the admission that Sizemore isn't this clear cut blowaway favorite that Brooklyn Zoo seems to think. And I don't think you read my opposition statement correctly...
-
Ok for starters, you can't say that Sizemore is playing against tougher opponents than Hamilton, then point to bad production from people on the Indians when they have to play the same tough opposition whereas Bradley and co. enjoys the "easier" schedule. And since when is Anaheim an easy opponent? For the record, Ben Francisco and Kenny Lofton are putting up decent numbers. Stop whining about Francisco.
-
Why are you so hard up for Sizemore? Just admit there are plenty of good candidates out there, not just him.
-
Not that it matters but Sizemore isn't even ranked #1 for CFs this season so far, according to sportsline.com. That honor goes to Josh Hamilton. And he's doing it with just as much protection, I think, as Sizemore, and with a similar record as Cleveland.

I think Hamilton and Mauer/Morneau has a solid shot as well. Sizemore isn't getting it.

Sure.

Discussion: WWE Scramblemania~!
USC Wuz Robbed! replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Yes, great drama overcoming injured opponents. Just so we can be beat over the head once again how lucky and advantageous Punk was. No. The idea would be that the other four keep knocking Punk down but he never gets pinned or lets anyone take that title away from him for a single second. If he ended up winning in the final seconds, that'd come off more of a fluke then a wire to wire victory would because they would do the typical finish with that. I know what the idea is. I'm telling you, that's how THEY will portray such a situation. It won't be that Punk was able to overcome four former world champions in a gutsy performance to hold on to the title. It'd be that Punk beat guys who were either pummeling each other with chairs not too long prior, out of shape or was missing (presumed to be held hostage/whatever the hell happened to Rey). Remember, it wasn't that Punk had the sense to beat JBL in the Raw match, it was JBL beating himself. You can spot the story they are trying to tell here with Punk, and it is nothing like what you're saying. I'm not a Punk hater by any means (hell I'm into his reign, even though it's Jericho who's been the MVP of the show as of late), but I just hate how he's being booked and I don't see it ending any time soon, but I'd love to eat crow on that point. -
Just a hunch here, but you don't have a girlfriend, do you?

Kendrick strikes me too much as a "toy" for the creative team moreso than a legitimate character/persona.

And why do you think this way? I guess by that token, Shelton Benjamin is groomed to be a main eventer too, as he too is in the main event of the PPV, and unlike TBK, he has the US title to help build credibility. This is not to say Benjamin WILL be a main eventer, but rather to debunk the idea that the WWE has any serious long term plans for TBK to become a main eventer. In fact if anything, I'd say the whole angle is to put over ZEKE as the future main eventer by having him be the intimidating enforcer before breaking out on his own.
-
I'm not going to sit here and say it's a good idea what he is doing, but I will mention he did pretty much play the whole playoffs with the same injuries. So it's not like he isn't a proven player with that bum knee.

Christian would be dumb to jump back to the WWE. Especially for Smackdown where you have two of the bigger "power" players over there, in addition to guys like Edge who's going to be given better spots over a guy who left the WWE for the competition. How he was pushed in his final months on Smackdown is probably how he'd be pushed in WWE again, and that's if he's lucky.

It's Scroby the professional wrestler/referee/manager/whatever. That's probably the first thing they are taught in pro wrestling, "Hate the reporters who dare expose your brethren as scumbags".

I don't know how you can be so confident in San Diego locking a top two seed, with Merriman's injury and LT coming off knee surgey. Because... Merriman isn't the be-all, end-all defender for the Chargers. He's a good leader for them and his production will be missed, but this IS the most talented team in the entire league. You're still going to have Shaun Phillips who is an unheralded workhorse LB for them, you're still going to have Antonio Cromartie to man the secondary, you got the new first round pick corner, Antoine Cason, who looked impressive in the preseason, and you have Luis Castillo to disrupt the offensive lines. On offense, the receivers are getting better and better, Vincent Jackson might be a real threat now. I don't think LT was going to play the biggest part of the offense this year after what happened last year. Come on now. The Chargers are still definitely going to kick ass in the league. They won't be embarrassing teams like the Patriots like you (edit: I now realize you're EHME, not KOAB, so disregard this) predicted last year in Week 2, but they'll get off to a fast start and then we'll see.

John Cena having major neck problems
USC Wuz Robbed! replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I can see Punk getting a bigger push out of this, but he will most certainly be stuffed to the back burner when Cena returns. Because for all the talk about Punk being endearing to the kids and etc who the WWE are now marketing towards, guess what? So is John Cena. -
Yeah I don't even see the Patriots locking up one of the top two seeds in the AFC. I think those are going to go to Indy and San Diego (in either order). Not that it matters much.

I'm not well-informed on Japanese economy, but I had assumed their stars were getting paid less in comparison to WWE workers, due to the schedule. Unless they are paid for their offseasons as well? This is a legitimate question.
-
Actually I shot too low with the 50K figure. It should really be 100/150 K. I don't think Morishima makes that much. However, the whole expenses being paid for perk is probably going to make it seem comparable.
-
Unless he makes more than 50,000 from Japan and the indies, no he is not.
-
I'm sure that it pains Morishima that he won't be taking a pay cut to work for WWE any time soon. Right... Morishima is making a lot more than WWE performers are... edit: This is not to say Morishima really wants the WWE contract. He might be content working in Japan and the indies, but don't ever insinuate that WWE wouldn't pay him more than what he gets now.

First of all, it's ONE White Sox fan accusing ONE Cubs fan of dwelling, namely me and you respectively. Get that right. Second of all, whatever compliments you pay the Twins are constructed in a way that it's like you want them to succeed solely to spite the White Sox. Akin to something like a Cardinals fan rooting for New York Yankees, just so that the Red Sox isn't succeeding. Third of all, yeah it's probably best you don't post. If I, PORTER, think you are a complete mess, then it's time to explore other avenues, mainly shock therapy.
-
Wait a second. The Cubs has the best record in the NL, is probably the best bet to make the World Series, and Czech is still dwelling on the f'n White Sox? Get a life, dude.
-
At least if you defend him, be accurate. Like I said, he didn't have as much of an issue dropping the belt to Shawn. He just saw it as a slap to the face to drop it to HBK IN CANADA.
