I'm not sure I want to see Punk messing around with the Sandman... or even Austin.

Heel turns that the wrestler didn't blame the fans?
USC Wuz Robbed! replied to Boxer's topic in General Wrestling
Sting turned on Hogan in WCW and I am pretty sure the fans had nothing to do with his reasoning, but I could be wrong. -
But will they identify with the self-made millionaire role that JBL has been doing? No. Just because one doesn't do drugs or drink, doesn't make him unidentifiable with...

I'm not well informed of the situation, but isn't it possible the Reds are just trying to do spin control? They did, after all, trade two of their biggest names all in one half of a season. Surely for Reds fans, that isn't sitting well with them, without the "justification" that the Reds are giving them...

I'm confused, RedJed. Are you saying Batista has more of an upside to him than John Cena? Batista is a steroid-related muscle tear away from permanent retirement, and is getting up there in age as well. John Cena is entering his athletic/physical prime with a supposedly "clean" body (yeah I don't buy it either) and he's only like 30, 31.

I know. I am more bitter I was taken out of a conference I liked, that's all. -
What's the debate about? The WWE already considers their workers independent contractors. This is why the lawsuit is occurring, to make the WWE recognize their workers as employees or somehow change how they draw up contracts in the future. The WWE is always on the lookout on how to shave any possible expenses, including misrepresenting their employees as independent contractors so they don't have to pay that 15% as you say, Noah Fentz.

In the babyface's home state? Good idea.

Jericho losing at another Wrestlemania? Seriously, the last time he won at the event was against Regal 7 years ago. As long as he is this kind of heel, you can count on him losing more Mania matches.

Geographically you have a team from Indiana in the Pac-8 and a team from southern California in the Big 8? Nothing unusual about that at all... -
You would, if you're angling to make it look like a wrestling federation set in middle of the Watchmen universe.
-
But to announce his return, less than a month from when he was "injured", is quite rushing the storyline. It sucks that the angle started so long ago and that it appears to be winding down, because the angle would be a perfect way to create a Wrestlemania rematch between Jericho and HBK.

You need 15 million more tickets to be sold to catch up. That's definitely doable. Though no I don't believe they break the record.
-
I'd say be a safety. You get to hit, you get to catch errant/bad passes, and you are charged the responsibility for being the last line of defense before a score occurs.
-
I hope HBK doesn't simply announce he'd be wrestling, at Summerslam. This angle feels like it needs something like HBK actually having to "retire" before coming back for his revenge. He hasn't been gone long enough for that effect to be felt.

After hearing the rumor back in 2004 about how Angle and Taker were practically politicking their way into the SD side of the Mania main events for Mania 21 (I think), so Taker could have that classic Mania match he always wanted, and Angle having another high profile match on the show, when Angle went back to SD after his Raw stint, I was worried they were going back to this direction, so I was glad that it wasn't the case, however with how the story was built for the triple threat, they might have been better off going with Angle/Taker instead.
-
Angle was a pretty good champion in that period, if I remember correctly. In fact he was probably the guy that gave the belt an instant credibility that it somehow needed at the time. The problem was he was immediately cast into a new role on SD as a face/tweener no nonsense fighting champion after being the weird heel that he was on Raw, where he was trying to say whatever he could to turn fans on him for Cena.

In an odd way, I get what that person is saying... well not the title history part...
-
Well except for the fact Sid is nearing 50 years old, if not already there. Punk's title run isn't in danger... well it is, but not because of Sid.

Which is why to some players, the ability to play for your favorite/hometown team is a luxury that they don't want to pass up. And even with this horrible season for the Padres, Giles still believes there's a shot for them to compete next season, so delusion or not, it's something that is going to compel him to stick it out longer. edit: referring to Alkeiper's post.
-
Because the fans has a lot to do with that, right? Giles is playing more for the fans, the same fans he grew up with as a kid, than he is for John Moores or Sandy Alderson or Kevin Towers or etc. Really, just drop it. He doesn't wanna play for your team. Get over it.
-
Once again, that wasn't the issue. It was down to this, a chance for the championship (however a continually diminishing one) or continuing his dream to be a major league star for his hometown team, the San Diego Padres. Yes we have guys like Ken Griffey Jr. who chose the former, but clearly Brian Giles chose the latter. Nothing wrong with that.
-
Or punter, but that's more for Aussies.
-
Cheech, you moron. Giles grew up in El Cajon, a San Diego suburb. It will have to take an incredibly sweet situation for Giles to agree to leave his... HOMETOWN team.
