I'd like it better if it was given more advance notice. Hell from that newsbit posted up there, they don't even know who's going to be in the tournament. What does that tell you? It makes me think that it's just there to advance angles. For example I said it might be HBK vs Batista in the finals. But then rethinking things, I could see it being Jericho vs Batista in the finals, to push the idea that Jericho won't just side with Batista at Backlash in that match. That's if the participants listed above hasn't changed. People hoping for King Santino or King MVP, well that isn't happening. They'd be more apt to win if it was a month long deal like SD's was or if they at least built to a PPV finals. And I can't believe what I'm reading. You want your KING OF THE RING to be the one to have fluked into a good day of wrestling rather than a consistent body of work?

Not really. You used to have qualifiers occur over the course of the pre-PPV build. Yes beating three men in one night means "something". But isn't that something a battle royal winner could claim? Or a gauntlet winner? What distinguishes this from those things? Because it has a defunct PPV name/concept slapped on it? I didn't like it when it was resurrected as a Smackdown TV only tournament, but at least they could build the tournament over time and made it mean more than it really did. This? If you miss Raw this Monday, you miss it all.

Agreed, wrestlers who have all been multiple time top champions in WWE hardly need a King of the Ring title. The point of KOTR should be to jump start someone up a higher level. Yes that is true in theory. But having a tournament pop up on us at the last minute isn't going to do much. It'd be akin to winning a battle royal that is announced in the same fashion. Don't kid yourself into thinking this would mean something. Did they even say what the winner gets, besides the "King" title?

Probably ending in a nonfinish, yes. Lookit, this KOTR thing is incredibly rushed. It's probably just to set up or push along a current storyline/angle, rather than being a star making turn for somebody.

To my knowledge Angle beat Brock for the IWGP once, and then Angle lost the belt to Nagata in an unification match and never saw it again. So he's only a 1 time IWGP champion.

Oh lord. Santino would be a horrible choice. He is "funny" (though I'd disagree), but he isn't the kind of person you want beating three men in one night.

How exactly do you manually speed the game up besides cutting down on mound meetings and batters taking timeouts? It would seem the only way to do that is having a pitcher that shuts down the opposition with less than 6 pitches per batter on average.

I could understand some of the oversells, but there was a few that left me befuddled. It crossed the line of "hilarity" (which I would never term a match where someone intentionally tries to screw with the other guy) into "almost unwatchable". Call me crazy but I like my matches to have a semblance of realism. Doing front flips off a back bump is not realistic. Someone mentioned that turnbuckle spot where HBK jumps on the bottom ropes. What was not said was that he turned inward the ring and did a flip off that spot as well. Just not good.

As long as he can bring it in the ring, I don't give a fuck if he has long flowing hair or a nice looking face. But yeah I know WHY NJPW wants Nakamura to be the ace, not Tanahashi. I feel the same way Muggy. I don't know why they are so reluctant to make Tanahashi the true ace of NJPW. He's just better than Nakamura right now. Nakamura has the potential to be a really tremendous ace but Tanahashi is THERE now.

He spends a lot of time in America though. You'd think SOMEONE would ask for an autograph then. They wouldn't rank him #1 if Americans send in bad reports about him.

If that's true, that makes me respect Depp all the more. For a while there I was sort of bummed about his comments about America, but this is really cool of him to visit sick kids as Jack Sparrow.
