TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

I should mention I'm speaking from the American perspective. Obviously Japanese fans sees these things differently, which is why I agree with Nakamura as champion. I just personally think there's something there with Tanahashi. Also I heard he had been earning the fans' respect slowly as champion, before losing the title. But this is secondhand info, obviously.

    Bobby Lashley released

If he had no charisma he wouldn't have been the 2nd most over guy in OVW behind Punk when he was there. Though I will admit the booking really helped, but still...

So, are the 1972 Miami Dolphins really the greatest team ever?

1989 49ers would come pretty close with total of 126-26, probably the best offensive unit ever to win, which is amazing considering how many bigtime offensive units have failed to win (this year's Pats, '98 Vikings, '83 Redskins, '84 Dolphins, '01 Rams, '90 Bills...) This is why I debated putting that squad in my top 5. Looking at it, the Niners have a lot of teams that could be considered some of the best teams in history. And why am I not surprised Cabbageboy would try to find a way to devalue the 85 Bears' run.

    Cloverfield

If thats true they wouldn't be making a sequel on the basis of the other dude filming the event that was shown in the movie.

WWE General Discussion - February 2008

Rock was always put over as a professional as an active wrestler. Yes he "had" to, in relative terms of who he was and how unselfish he was. If you want a better example of the Rock's dislike for HHH now, just look at how nervous Rock gets about putting people over only to have HHH squash that momentum.

WWE General Discussion - February 2008

The Rock HAD to work with HHH back then as a contracted worker. He doesn't have to work with HBK now as a special guest. There's a difference.

So, are the 1972 Miami Dolphins really the greatest team ever?

No. The 72 Dolphins doesn't even sniff top 5. All talk has to begin and end with the 1985 Bears. I don't understand why people are not willing to admit it. Mike Ditka is a paid analyst by ESPN who has to push the current flavors (not that the Patriots are just a flavor), even if it means throwing his team under the bus. Yes, the Dolphins beat the Bears that year, but come on, only Dolphins of that 1972 year can claim not to be beaten. What the Bears did after that loss is nothing short of amazing, as their playoff run saw them outscore their opponents 91-10, the 10 being scored in the Super Bowl. I challenge anyone to find a team with a stronger run than that.

    Cloverfield

I don't know. I really don't think the characters matter in the big picture. What matters is the attack, and the characters is just one of the director's plot devices, rather than being the meat of the movie. (Yes I saw the movie recently as well. Just as well done as a monster movie could be.)

Because Johan Santana and Pedro Martinez certainly isn't enough!

    Superbowl XLII

Good character guys? Who you crappin'? List them all with justifications. Go. I want twenty and these better be good. He means once they become Patriots, they are good character guys. Of course, if good means beating up women in Florida, cheating for possibly up to 6 years, drafting bad characters like Brandon Meriweather while brashly proclaiming that they'll change for the big hoodie, and the aforementioned big hoodie walking off the field before the Super Bowl was fully concluded, then yes good character guys.

I wondered the same thing, but likely for different reasons. Nakamura is great, but Tanahashi just has that look that I think you want for your champion.

    VX already claimed the Packers.

I hated the Rams if only for the simple reason they stopped Tennessee short in that Super Bowl.

Really? Alright thanks. Good for San Diego I suppose. Not as good as New England though...

The TSM 2008 NFL Mock Draft

I just noticed, how the heck does the Colts have the 29th pick when San Diego beat them in the divisional round? Shouldn't their placements be switched around?

    Bobby Lashley released

Fair enough. All I'm really saying is I can understand where Lashley is coming from. Better than just dismissing his gripes out of hand and laughing at him.

    Bobby Lashley released

I know, but it WAS Bobby Lashley and Umaga chosen. So pay them, I say. And I'm not advocating giving Lashley Hogan level money, but if 250 thousand is the common practice for a guy who wrestled a Mania "main event", then they're obligated to fulfill that. That's my only point. So I don't really agree with the people in here who are going "Lashley? LOL who is he? Hogan?!"

    Bobby Lashley released

Then in that event, give him the money. If he main evented as you say, and the show drew 1 million buys, give him the money typically given to the main eventers. If the WWE doesn't want to do that, they shouldn't have made the match to begin with. That's just my humble opinion. It's like going to a dentist who got his certificate from some community college level school, and then expecting to pay him a discounted price just because he didn't go to Harvard (or wherever the reputed dentistry programs would be), despite doing the same work as the prospective Harvard dentist.

    Bobby Lashley released

The match that goes on last might be the official main event, but it's not always the match that's the main event draw. Jericho vs. Hunter was the official main event for Wrestlemania X8, but we all know the match that drew the money for that one was Rock vs. Hogan. I know all that, but even with the heavy media blitz for the McMahon/Trump feud and the subsequent Mania match that followed, I always got the sense the two world title matches were the true main events and that the Lashley/Umaga match was the "sideshow".
  20. Orlando actually. And there was a contingent in Chicagoland that resented how the Bulls basically turned the whole league into the Michael Jordan show.

    Bobby Lashley released

Why are people acting like Lashley main evented Mania? Last I checked HBK vs Cena was the main event.
  22. I guess I must be in the minority. All I remember is I didn't like the Bulls and I knew a contingent in Chicago who didn't either, and I probably just assumed that if there was that contingent in Chicago, there would be a larger percentage of fans who would hate the Bulls for the preferential treatment of Jordan or stuff like that. I must have underestimated the love for them, I guess.

The TSM 2008 NFL Mock Draft

I'm not sure if I was supposed to sign up elsewhere, but since I was in this last year, I'll ask to be in again but as San Diego.
  24. Pretty sure people hated the Bulls. Hell I hated them and I am a Chicago native.

    Any Psych fans?

What were you expecting them to do with the Shawn Spencer character then? This is a legitimate question by the way.
