  1. Smoking Aces > Simon Sez.
  2. Cabbageboy, if you're going to say Austin had a supporting cast that didn't make him a "clear cut main eventer" (a stupid argument), then you have to say the same thing about Hogan, with Andre, Savage, Piper, etc around him in the 80s, then Flair, Hart, HBK, etc in the early 90s. Even in WCW you had Sting, Flair, DDP, Hall and Nash, etc around him.
  3. Hell, check out an Oriole game or two while they are still in the top half of the division.
  4. How does that work? Ginn returns kickoffs and punts, which impacts their own offense (as in not many yards to go if it was a good return), but the defense still has to deal with the other teams' offenses getting on the field. Ginn does nothing to change that.
  5. I would guess McMahon will sic Khali on either Marella or Lashley.
  6. That's true. Even though I don't like the Cubs, I hope they get a better owner who legitimately loves the game and knows how/who to hire the right people to build a real contender. After watching the Golden State/Dallas game, I'm now not entirely sure it should be Cuban. And as for Guillen, when you have a manager that acts larger than life (albeit negatively), the coverage is going to always be on him, as opposed to the "boring" team players.
  7. This is true. The White Sox gets no love from most of Chicago. They are too dysfunctional and abrasive. The only time people in Chicago cares about them are when they are making a postseason run. Though as the Cubs continue to suck the meat missile, their status should be downgraded to regional favorites only.
  8. Looks like Ripper is right about the Warriors. Great display of their helter skelter style.
  9. Is that a transcript from a porn movie featuring Judy?
  10. Kobe was a major reason why the Lakers went ahead in the first half, and the major reason why they lose today.
  11. I would but I'm just too glad Lashley is still the ECW champion.
  12. Luol Deng has gotta be one of the most underrated players in the game, way he's playing now.
  13. Because the Bulls have a better record. They are only a lower seed because they didn't win their division as opposed to Miami, who won a weak division.
  14. I'm not denying beating Rock did a lot for Brock, but the HIAC win over Taker SOLIDIFED Brock as the top guy. The length means everything when you compare the two and call one a placeholder and another not a placeholder. Placeholder champions are champions who are keeping the belt warm for someone else. If Benoit is one (which he is), Eddie has to be one too.
  15. First of all, original plan or not, Eddie didn't last long as champion. Second of all, because the Rock was a part timer by that point. He had just come back around June (for a week or two), left, then came back to win that belt in a triple threat. He was obviously not going to retain over Brock. Taker on the other hand, lost in a Hell in a Cell match that up to the point he had been undefeated in, pretty cleanly, to Brock. Then Taker stuck around, Rock didn't.
  16. If you're calling Benoit (who had the belt longer) a placeholder, then you have to call Eddie one too.
  17. You told your boss to fuck off? Yeah right.
  18. Guess we know who's taking the pin at Backlash...
  19. On the flip-side, Dallas would add about 6 or so more wins to the record if they played in the East.
  20. I actually did some calculations. Detroit would have Utah's record if they played in the West. Everyone else from the Eastern side of the playoff field wouldn't even make the playoffs in the West.
  21. Wouldn't 41 losses be .500? It's not like a .500 team hasn't made the playoffs before in other sports either. Also looking at it, the West is sending in two 40 game losers too.
  22. Just because they share the same bay doesn't mean Oakland considers themselves San Francisco. If anything, people I talk to from Oakland hates San Francisco. Call them Oakland if you must, but not San Francisco.
  23. And trading for someone to get booed constantly is always a good reason
  24. Why would the Phillies want Lidge?
  25. No the problem is TNA gives away tickets for free to their TV shows (not that they could charge at Universal), so their only revenue is PPV, and with their horrible advertising, they would only get maybe a few million, if they're lucky, and divide that up with the highly paid workers all the way onto the bottom of the pool, you don't really draw much.
