Actually, probably my favorite Chip Caray memory was during a Cubs/Pirates game in 2004, the Cubs were trailing by two in the 8th, and Corey Patterson was up with a man on. "Popped up, shallow left field..." Um, no, Chip. Game-tying two-run homer. Although in his defense, the wind was crazy that night.

I'm just happy that I was nominated for Best Poster, but not for Worst.

I love Lou. EDIT: I like this one better...

According to WSCR, there are already talks of the Cubs possibly playing a season at The Cell while Wrigley is rehabbed, perhaps as soon as 2010.

I think what I need an answer to, and this is certainly up for debate, "Which is worse? Eko's beard or Adebisi's hat?"

How did you land the job that you have now?

Same story, except replace History with English and Wal-Mart with Borders. -
Bruce Levine reporting Orioles scouts are in Mesa. He also verifies what everyone knew already, that the Cubs only signed Cintron to use if/when Cedeno gets traded.

Is Payton the guy who got in a fistfight with Terry Francona on an airplane? I think that's all I really know about him, besides his stats which aren't very impressive, but I guess he'll just be platooning with Pie.

It doesn't matter how he said it. It's still not an admission of anything.

Am I missing something?

Zambrano is 0-1 in three Opening Day starts, losing last year to Cincinnati. At the Cubs' winter fan fest in January, he said Ted Lilly could start the season opener March 31 against Milwaukee. "What I said at the convention, I was just playing," Zambrano said Thursday. "I'm going to be out there the first day and try to win the first game. The one who invented the light tried 2,000 something times, and finally he did it. We have light. I don't want to spend 2,000 times to win the first game on Opening Day, but I think I will do it this year and go from there."

Chocolate Cherry Dr. Pepper is too chocolatey.

Where'd you hear that, Gogo? That's great news if true.

What are you hearing about the Roberts trade, Marvin?

See? Leyritz was doing a public service by killing her before she could kill someone else! When I saw this NYankees post on Friday, I tried to think of something smart to say about it. Then I gave up and thought, "eh, I'm sure Czech will get to it." Thank you, Czech.

I guess some Baltimore beat writer (Zrebiac?) thinks the O's will trade Bedard to Seattle and Roberts to the Cubs by the end of the week. And the Cubs would be giving up Gallagher, Murton, and Cedeno.

My grandfather slipped and fell in the ice right next to the handicapped spot. My grandmother tried to help him up, but was unable. Two people waiting in line at the drive-through got out of their cars and ran over to help. Then one of those people ran inside to tell a manager. My grandparents filled out a report, and my grandfather was taken to the emergency room. Thank God he's okay now. They talked to their lawyer, and he told them they have a case (naturally). This is the same lawyer who helped them succesfully sue a truck driver after they were in a collision last year. The point of this story is I have the coolest grandparents ever.

The day before the Lost premiere, ABC is going to replay the Finale from last season with text on the "lower third" of the screen, offering up backstory, clues and other assorted on-screen facts.

My grandparents are suing McDonald's...

Actually, they should! Two or three years ago, my grandmother was shopping at Wal-Mart, and my grandfather was waiting outside in the car. She had a full grocery cart full of stuff, and she forgot there was some lipstick or something that didn't get scanned. The thing beeped when she tried to leave, and they grabbed her and pulled her into some back office or something and made her wait like three hours without getting a phone call or anything. Then they made her sign something saying she'd never come back. Sure, no harm was done, but think of the humiliation! -
Barry Bonds asked the judge to drop the charges against him. And then he asked him for a club sandwich.

Hey, has anyone else noticed that the Braves and Nationals are scheduled to play a one-game regular-season series on March 30th, but the next day the Braves go home to play the Pirates and the Nats go to Philly? I know the Nationals are opening their new ballpark, but this seems really weird to me.
