Class Is In Session Discussion Thread

Hawke - please note, I'm changing the Radford Calling so it can be done as a Chris Daniels-style double-jump moonsault from inside the ring, because I'm fed up of having to have Toxxic go out to the apron to set it up each time.

Class Is In Session Discussion Thread

Let me know what you have in mind so I can incorporate into the beginning part of my match, please? Uh, general megalomaniacal heel world champion and tag champion rantings really. I figure I sort of need to keep appearances up. And I might try and turn the crowd on Jay Hawke to justify me being pseudo-face in our match. Or at least make them hate him more, something like that.
  3. The salsa stems from when Tom was Cruiserweight Champion and disrespected the belt to the point of using it as a platter to hold salsa, a truly magnificent promo.

    Incidentally, I call opening promo.
  5. If this ends up involving salsa, I may laugh until I'm sick.

    SHOW AFTER NEXT SHOW AVAILABILITY!!

Well, that's two who can make it (possibly) on the 1st, but not on the 28th. That sounds like a good reason to move the show to me.

    Heels vs. Faces?

It's also a matter of how you want to write things. For example, if Toxxic's going up against another heel I have a tendency to make him into a pseudo-face for the match, partly because it's pleasant to play the other side for a change (as long as you can do it without totally altering the character for one match only), and justify it through his high charisma rating and flashy style making him the more appealing of the two options. Unless of course we're in my opponent's hometown, in which case they're de facto face. In general, I'd say a BUTT-kicking, no-nonsense heel (in the mold of Benoit) would probably get a more favourable reaction than a sneaky, cheating one. Ditto for a huge monster. Someone like Flesher would be skilled enough at working the crowd and have enough genuine in-ring talent to impress anyone, so in a battle of two heels he'd probably get the crowd reaction (if he wanted it). At the end of the day, this is our own fed and we write everything. If we want to write the crowd going nuts for a heel vs heel match-up, we can. I have in the past, on the rationale that whatever happens, someone they hate is going to get hurt. But you can run the logic of a 'smarky' crowd picking the better worker to support, or give the better-looking heel a female fanbase for that night, or whatever.

Jumping onto the bandwagon - if you want to see what Raging Speedhorn actually sound like, follow . If you don't like rock music to begin with... well, I think it's safe to say this won't convert you. But in terms of swaggering, oozing brutality, it's great

    SHOW AFTER NEXT SHOW AVAILABILITY!!

How about if we pushed the show back to Sunday 1st December? Would that give people enough time to get Thanksgiving stuff done?

    SHOW AFTER NEXT SHOW AVAILABILITY!!

Yeah, when is Thanksgiving? Obviously us Brits have no clue, so if we've scheduled the second show for around that time... well, let us know.

    All Hallows Comments Thread

Take comfort in the fact that as long as you're a team you'll always be contenders. It's not like you had the one chance and blew it. In kayfabe another team might step up next, but anytime the fed needs tag contenders, Wild & Dangerous will be near the top of the list.
  14. OK... Fury jobbed himself to a jobber. Christ. I mean, ring rust and all, yes, but McLennan? Good God man. So no ladder match. I was surprised at this, as both Luke-O and JJ told me they were actually in the process of writing when I spoke to them in the week. No Dace/IL match. But IL as we know is a master of the no-show, and Dace didn't even know he was booked until some time after the card went up. Which was my fault, as he suggested a Hallowe'en Hardcore match and I thought he suggested it FOR HIM. Alexander came with the goodness, glad to see Jakey and Tom got something in as well. REALLY confused about Hawke/Va'aiga, as it appears Hawke has jobbed himself as well! (I know for a fact Va'aiga's computer was broken, and WC told me Hawke sent him something. So... Hawke jobs himself to the returnee. Mighty big of ya, Jay. Have a World Title shot).

    NEXT SHOW AVAILABILITY THREAD!

Muzz = good. Sly with internet again = good. MANSON back = good. All the rest of you guys is good as well, but you know what I mean. Card's filling out nicely.
  16. The next show is planned for the 14th November. Some of you I have spoken to and you have confirmed your availability. Some, like MANSON, are unsure whether you will be available or not (MANSON, if you're reading this, we're currently working on the basis that you're not). PLEASE, IF ANYONE WANTS / DOES NOT WANT TO BE BOOKED AND YOU DON'T THINK WE KNOW YOUR DESIRES, PUT 'EM IN THIS THREAD!

    CLASS IS IN SESSION CARD

Send all marked matches, promos etc to King Cucaracha The SWF is heading home, back from the West Coast and away towards its spiritual residence in Chicago... but to get there we have to go through some cold, cold places. One of them is Oregon, where the SWF stops next! MAIN EVENT SWF World Heavyweight Title TOXXIC © vs. 'THE DEAN OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING' JAY HAWKE Class is in session... or at least, Jay Hawke hopes so. The Dean suffered a loss at All Hallows to Va'aiga, the returning Maori Badass, but on the basis that Landon knows Hawke can put in a much better performance if he actually knows who his opponent is ahead of time and the sterling service he's delivered to the company in the past, he gets a World Title shot tonight. Meanwhile Toxxic is still one-half of the Tag Team Champions thanks to Austin Sly and the Bootheel Stretch, so the Straight-Edge Sensation is riding high. Can Hawke bring him back down to earth with a bump? Will the Englishman make his first successful title defence of his historic fifth run? Who, if anyone, will the fans cheer for? Rules: Standard single Word Limit: 6000 Send to: King Cucaracha #1 Contenders Match 'THE SUPERIOR ONE' TOM FLESHER vs. JOHNNY 'THE BARRACUDA' DANGEROUS Both these men have got a point to prove. Johnny lost the World Title at Genesis and his attempt to regain the Tag Titles with his partner the Wildchild failed as well, but the Barracuda is nothing if not determined and he wants to show that he's still main-event calibre. Tom Flesher on the other hand is a man whose main-event calibre can never really be in doubt... although these days his physical condition might be. Regardless, despite disliking both these men intently Commissioner Maddix believes in fair play, and so two of the best singles competitors in the SWF are squaring off to find out who will face the winner of Toxxic/Jay Hawke. Rules: Standard single Word Limit: 5500 Send to: Muzz SUBMISSIONS MATCH SWF New Blood Title MICHAEL ALEXANDER © vs. THE FABULOUS JAKEY Michael Alexander made his first defence of the New Blood Title at All Hallows, and a successful one it was too as he beat off the challenge of Leon Sharpe. Now he faces a new challenge as two-time Cruiserweight Champion The Fabulous Jakey seeks to divest him of the belt. It's easy to forget that Jakey is still in his rookie year, thereby qualifying for the belt, and if he were to amass the three successful defences needed he could use the resulting title shot to challenge for any belt he pleased, even the World Title currently held by his stablemate Toxxic... but for now he needs to worry about the supremely impressive Mad Scientist Of The Mat. Alexander has been complaining about the quality of his opponents (big surprise) and wanted the chance to wrestle a match. Well, he'll get his chance as, in the spirit of having the New Blood Title try out different stipulations, this defence will be a submissions match! Rules: Submissions match. Count-outs and disqualification are in effect, so no hitting people with chairs and then winning with a rear chinlock, because that shit is lame. The only way to win is by making your opponent submit or pass out in a submission. Word Limit: 5000 Send To: Toxxic 'THE MAORI BADASS' VA'AIGA and DACE F'N NIGHT vs. THE ANDERSENS (ARNE & OLAF) So, Landon Maddix remembers that Va'aiga and Dace Night used to be a damn good tag team once upon a time. However, it seems that perhaps the Commissioner's memory doesn't stretch to recalling the fact that the team broke up when the Maori Badass debuted the Va'aiga Stinger and dropped Dace on his head, leading to him going off and forming the Unnamed. Well, that was four years ago... but has time healed this particular wound? Dace fell foul of President Ramu at the last show while Va'aiga came back in spectacular fashion by defeating Jay Hawke. They have a chance to raise their respective profiles tonight by taking on half of the Four Norsemen, but will they be able to get along? Rules: Standard tag. Use the ring ropes. Word Limit: 4000 Send to: King Cucaracha CRUISERWEIGHT RULES MATCH WILDCHILD© vs. DANCE DANCE DRAGON (Non-title) Despite certain misgivings, Dance Dance Dragon didn't do too badly in his debut outing, as his team with Chris Raynor got the better of former Commissioner Tom Flesher and former SWF Cruisereweight Champion The Fabulous Jakey. With his 'Newbie Killer' leading to a pinfall win over the former champ, Dance Dance Dragon has been thrust into a match with possibly the best pound-for-pound competitor in the SWF today, the current Cruiserweight Champion Wildchild. This match is non-title, but a win for D3 would not only bring a welcome boost to the paycheck but also put him in contention for a shot in the future. Rules: Cruiserweight Rules - no throwing an opponent over the top rope, twenty count on the outside. Word Limit: 5000 Send to: Ace309 HARDCORE MATCH ARCH GRIFFON vs. CHRISTIAN BLACKWELL Arch Griffon has been hulking around recently looking for a fight - it looks like he might have one in the form of the returning Christian Blackwell, who has been absent from the SWF for several years. Everything is legal in this match, which might be a re-baptism of fire for Blackwell, or will the big Australian come back with all guns blazing and take out Griffon? Rules: Hardcore Word limit: 4500 Send to: King Cucaracha GUESS WHO? PART II 'THE BEMANI CROSS WIZARD' CED ORDONEZ vs. ??? Poor Ced. The former Tag Team Champion has been on hard times of late... well, the last couple of years... but hey, he still has a job. Unfortunately this job largely consists of being beaten about by whoever's coming up the ladder this month, and tonight may well be no exception. Commissioner Maddix has managed to secure the services of not one by two unnamed competitors for Class Is In Session, and Ced play the part of welcoming committee to the second. We assume it's a returnee (since a debutant is not worth keeping a mystery), but who could it be...? Rules: Standard single Word limit: 4000 Send to: King Cucaracha HARDCORE MATCH MANSON vs. AUSTIN SLY© The Raging Bull is back, and MANSON looks to be as batshit crazy as ever. The rules might favour MANSON but Austin Sly can hold his own in any given situation, so it will be interesting to see how this one pans out. Slaughterhouse/5 are doubtless chomping at the bit for a tag title shot as well, and Sly holds one of the belts - will MANSON be able to boost his team's morale by taking out one of the tag champions, or will Sly carry on his roll from All Hallows and defeat MANSON as well? Rules: Hardcore Word Limit: 4500 Send to: Mr. S£im Citrus FIRST FALL TO A WINNER 'HOLLYWOOD' SPIKE JENKINS vs. LUKE-O vs. 'THE PALADIN' CHANCE SILVER vs. CRAIG McLENNAN vs. TOD DEKINDES Lord help us all, Craig McLennan actually won a match! He beat the returning Christian Fury, and as such might even be considered the favourite coming into this match if it weren't for the fact that Spike Jenkins has arrived back in the SWF as well. Hollywood's last run met with mixed success but you can never count him out. Chance Silver and Tod deKindes might as well be there to make up the numbers on recent showings, while Luke-O started promisingly but has failed to deliver following his debut. If the Londoner doesn't deliver something soon he may well find himself in the same boat as a couple of tonight's opponents. Rules: Five-way dance. Everyone in the ring at once, first fall or submission wins. Word Limit: 5000 Send to: King Cucaracha GUESS WHO? PART I CHRISTIAN FURY vs. ??? Fury's back, but maybe he should have stuck to playing X-Box as he found himself taking the three count from Craig McLennan. As a result he's still stuck curtain-jerking for the second show of the SWF's new era, and his opponent is going to be a mystery as well. Will Fury have a prayer against someone he has no time to prepare for? He got a couple of days for McLennan, after all. Only time will tell, but Maddix has high hopes for this one. Rules: Standard single Word Limit: 5000 Send to: Toxxic (Landon tends to disappear at weekends so I just booked and put the matches up without doing the Smarkwire. Sorry for the lack of flair, but at least everyone knows where they stand now)

    A New Sheriff In Town

“Hi,” Megan Skye begins, looking over her desk at the figure seated in the chair in front of her. The figure does not reply. “Well, I hope you understand why we set this meeting up,” Megan continues, slightly weirded out already by her guest’s appearance but determined not to show it, “we appreciate that you have your own concerns in Japan but we were hoping to come to some mutually beneficial arrangement.” The figure still does not reply, but nods once silently. “You see, the SWF is a hotbed of talent and a byword for competition,” Megan starts once more, wondering if she can run for president with acting skills this good, “but every now and then - not often, you understand - our talent just doesn’t put the effort in. I’m sure you can understand that, right?” Another nod. “In the past we’ve had methods of helping this along,” Megan adds, “we had private advertising deals for top performers and stuff like that… but every now and then we need a bit of stick to go with the carrot. Someone to step in when people just can’t be bothered and make them realise they need to buck their ideas up a little. That role has been filled by all sorts of… things,” Megan explains, the word ‘people’ failing her as she considers G0R0, The Elk and Ebony, “but Joe Peters phased that out and to be honest, Tom Flesher never really went in for it. Commissioner Maddix,” she continues, perhaps unconsciously emphasising her business partner’s name to distance herself from this whole deal, “felt that maybe we should start this practice up again. And so we thought of you.” A tilt of the head to one side, this time. “It’s a simple enough deal,” Megan says, bored of waiting for a response and just sliding the contract over, “if two wrestlers are late, are in an unfit condition to wrestle due to avoidable circumstances such as excess alcohol consumption, or just plain aren’t trying, you go down there and… do what you do,” she finishes slightly lamely. “For this service you receive the agreed fee, plus travel expenses.” She pushes a pen across the desk. “Do we have a deal?” The other figure regards the contract (carefully written up in Japanese thanks to outsourcing to the Onita twin that isn’t banging Flesher), picks up the pen and signs before dropping out of the chair and leaving the room. Megan just stares for a couple of seconds, then sighs and puts the contract into her Out tray. “Sometimes this place is just too weird…”

PLEASE NOTE, TWO CHANGES TO THE CARD THREAD: First of all, I have changed my account name to 'Toxxic' from 'MikeofEvil'. Which obviously means appropriate people need to be sending matches to 'Toxxic', or it won't get to me. Secondly, I've corrected Landon in that our next show is November 14th, not the 11th
