I'm not going to cry about it and jump up and down and say they suck. They didn't suck, the other teams were just better. There is no such thing as "they quit" and anyone who thinks that is obviously searching for some really sad things out there. I finally saw Corey develop into the center fielder I thought he would and Prior proving his arm is just fine. This "he sucks! GET HIM OUT OF TOWN" mental pisses me off to no end. Hawkins may have struggled as a closer but he's still one of the best if not the best late relief pitcher in baseball. Get rid of him then they deserve a swift kick in the backside.

When did Cubs fans become the equal of Red Sox fans? Stop it! I'm a Cubs fan and I don't think they sucked, they struggled and the hitting just got cold at the wrong moment. They didn't improve the bullpen much because of the injury to Borw which left Hawkins in a role he really is not suited for. He's a nice little piece but Hawkins makes the bullpen better as a 7/8th inning guy instead of ninth inning guy. Nomar should come back since he's still a solid shortstop (trade deadline deals NEVER work...ever until the next season), they don't need Beltran cause Patterson is on pace to win a Gold Glove in center, they need to repair the bullpen and get a new hitting coach. That's it. They were not healthy this season, they lost a big bat off the bench to injury. the bullpen just couldn't come through and the bats got very cold at the wrong time. It happens. Get some solid bullpen relief (B.J Ryan perhaps?), figure out whether or not they want to pursue a closer and go from there.

I just realized that Bush was stumbling and bumbling and it only ended in a draw. Does that really speak well of John Kerry that he couldn't nail Bush to the wall when Bush was lost? I still say this was a blown chance by Kerry. Bush left the door open and Kerry just stared at it and said, "eh, maybe I'll go through later." Hearing this ended in a draw when Bush was confused is not exactly the best of things the more I think about it.

I get worried when Stewart starts thinking he's a legitimate authority on anything, personally. I stopped watching the Daily Show for this reason. When Stewart only bashes the right, it's not funny. Stewart doesn't only bash the right, hell he has been laying into Kerry as well just as early as last night. The Daily Show doesn't associate with either side. Hence, Lewis Black being part of the show. Stewart even today his audience to basically "shut up" when they tried to pull some kind of booing fit at a Republican guest one night. The Daily Show makes fun of what is in the news, the right was the only section in the news for a few weeks. Comedy Central thinks it's a legit news source, I think it's pretty close, Stewart still doesn't.

For fuck sake, Jon ADMITTED last night he took it as a joke! Comedy Central took it seriously, not Jon Stewart and the Daily Show. Christ on a spear, Stewart constantly calls his audience stoned slackers DURING HIS OWN SHOW! I dislike Bill with a passion but come on, the only ones who didn't get the joke were Comedy Central. Bill knew what was saying (hell, repeating Jon to be exact), Stewart got it, Comedy Central did not. End of the story.
