Since I didn't see the thread anywhere, figured I'd start it until someone better comes along and starts one. Of course, the season officially kicks off tonight with INDIANAPOLIS COLTS vs NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS start time: 9:00 ET Other games this week: Sun Sep 12, 2004 Tampa Bay at Washington 1:00 pm EDT Oakland at Pittsburgh 1:00 pm EDT Seattle at New Orleans 1:00 pm EDT San Diego at Houston 1:00 pm EDT Detroit at Chicago 1:00 pm EDT Arizona at St. Louis 1:00 pm EDT Cincinnati at NY Jets 1:00 pm EDT Tennessee at Miami 1:00 pm EDT Baltimore at Cleveland 1:00 pm EDT Jacksonville at Buffalo 1:00 pm EDT Atlanta at San Francisco 4:15 pm EDT NY Giants at Philadelphia 4:15 pm EDT Dallas at Minnesota 4:15 pm EDT Kansas City at Denver 8:30 pm EDT Mon Sep 13, 2004 Green Bay at Carolina 9:00 pm EDT Ok, so I guess you can discuss and things unless a mod comes along with a better thread.

The Pats have no back-up running back tonight. Cobbs is out, Faulk is not there, Cloud was cut and Pass is the only fullback. I have no idea what the thinking is behind this. None whatsoever.
-
I believe it is at Foxboro. You believe correctly. Kevin Faulk is out for the Pats and Troy Brown is questionable so the special teams looks a little light right now.

A poor, misunderstood little boy who's probably looking for that little girl's real murderer. -=Mike He should check the golf course. According to OJ, he's getting a lot of leads at golf courses. I never knew that killers needed to work on their handicap that much. I want to know where he got the knife. Cause if his mom gave it to him, she needs a nice hard kick in the backside.
-
Actually no, I was the one who is wrong. I forgot it was the Niners who came back to win the game. That would be a great comeback with a miscue. I can't believe I forgot it was the Giants who blew the lead and not the Niners.

With Green Bay vs Carolina as the Monday Night game? I'd expect the ratings to drop to a 3.2 or lower. I know which I'll be watching. Well actually, mostly RAW but I'd rather watch the football game.
-
If you don't win, then it wasn't a great comeback. That is a noble effort. Since there is nowhere that proves the kicker would have nailed the kick anyway, it just ends as a noble effort.

In football, if the team in the lead falls into PREVENT defense and instead of running down the clock they try and throw every down with some of the stupidest patterns you have ever seen THEN it's a choke. Packers vs Eagles, that was a choke by the Packers defense. Sorry but when you allow someone to complete a 4th and whatever over 10 yards on one of the worst passes I have seen THEN you choked.

I got to see some of the extras at Horrorfind and got to see the box set up close. I nearly dripped saliva onto the damn thing. If I had the cash right now, I'd so have that thing in my room.

The final version of Buffy The Vampire Slayer had little to do with what Joss originally wrote. A lot of the horror aspects were thrown out and entire dialouge and plot points were changed. You can check out an interview where he mentions this stuff here. Actually, I had no problem with "Buffy" the movie. It was a nice little B movie of goodness. I've seen the original script and frankly I'm glad they threw out what they threw out. His original script to me was wordy in stupid places and more tossed together than even the one that was released.

So Kerry is going to take the suggestion of his batty wife to invent an agency so I can pay more money to a group to tell me what else will kill me even though they don't have a clue what the hell will kill me. Wonderful.

True, but I think it's more to do with Singer. He seems to be a focus on one project type director and more than likely they didn't like him trying to revive the Superman franchise.

How many times have you watched Wayne's World?
2GOLD replied to The Czech Republic's topic in General Chat
It's funny, I saw a car from Delaware in the parking lot of the store I work at the other day and I guess it's fitting that the liscense plates are the cheapest looking ones I've ever seen. They looked like they were plastic with the numbers painted on, not even raised or anything. Hey! We spend our money on important things like....Slower Lower Delaware t-shirts! God, my state is sad. At least we have no sales tax. -
Am I the only person in America who really doesn't care about this nerd? I'm more tired of hearing about him than I'm tired of hearing about the struggles of the Yankees or whatever.
-
Or it could be a gag set up by PEOPLE to see how many people would be stupid enough to call and leave a voicemail. There hasn't been a more worthless "celeb" since Monica popped out from under the desk.

"Imagine being swept away to magical...DELAWARE!" "......" "......" "...uhh hi, I'm in...Delaware." My home state will never live that joke down. Sadly, it's accurate. Or at least it used to be! Now Delaware has.....the beach....and.....well, the beach. Ok, so it's still true. DAMN YOU WAYNE! -
Dying people who want to die now instead of being in pain then dying an very painful one. I'm sorry, but what is the problem here? I'm still a little insulted to think that someday if I'm in horrible pain and waiting to die but want to die, I have to get out of my own country to do it.

Whedon fans will tell you that it was, but the fact still remains that he still wrote it. He also wrote Toy Story - and last I checked - that was a pretty big success. Yes he did, which is why I said I'm waiting for the script before damning him to hell... The writers of TOY STORY are Joss Whedon and Andrew Stanton, Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow. Can people please quit forgetting the rest of the writers? They do this same crap with Buffy, acting like David Fury, Marti Noxon, David Greenwalt, and others never wrote a page. Whedon wrote parts of TOY STORY, he wrote TWO feature films all by himself. Those two films are "Buffy" and "Alien:RS" and soon to add "Serenity". The rest, much like the many seasons of Buffy/Angel were written by a TEAM. There is a difference between me being a fan and blind loyality. His feature film track record as a writer by himself is just miserable.

This is why Joss will not work, as much as I love his work. He is not much for just allowing characters to remain what they are. He wants to make something his own. All directors do but Joss sometimes allows previous character development by other writers just vanish. I don't know why, but he does it and it's been becoming more and more obvious with each episode of Buffy he wrote. If Joss doesn't completely alter the look and turn the characters into the comic book selfs he created then it will be fine. As for ALIENS: RESURRECTION being altered: The deleted scenes are all Joss scenes and frankly, they are still boring and add comedy that wasn't needed. Joss was the wrong man for that project. It was too much comedy and self-discovery and I want to know what kind of acid he was on to think of a Alien-human hybrid. Love his work, still don't trust him to helm this just yet. And I will not trust him to write it.

FCC to Fine CBS Stations $550,000 Over Jackson
2GOLD replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
Then CBS should sue her ass for twice that. If the FCC wants to be stupid then CBS should go after Janet for doing something she was aware was stupid and still not allowed on network. -
Oh I will never doubt his tv work. Hell, I'm a major fanboy for his television work. But his movie scripts have been incredibly painful and the humor just falls extremely flat. And he should be slapped for the plot of ALIEN:RESURRECTION. As long as someone else writes the script and he doesn't do any "brush ups", this could be good. Of course, if Serenity looks like poorly directed crap then I won't be shocked to see him booted off the project.

These days it seems like ole Pat is the only conservative making any sense. Go figure! It's sad that anybody believes that. -=Mike I've taken up the position of just smiling and nodding now when they say anything. Otherwise they will make my brain melt from the sheer stupidity of such statements. As for Keyes, yeah he might be a little bit crazy. But at least he'll be fun to watch. I want the debates broadcast on C-SPAN now just so I can see and hear what good Alan has to say. If he breaks out a red magic marker and dots his hands just so he claim that he has been chosen by Jesus then I encourage everyone in Illinois to vote for him.

The only way this works is if they have signed Whedon to do the entire Dark Phoenix arc because he royally sucks at condensing storylines into one film. That's his problem, he is no good at condensing. Not to mention his jokes fall flat (aka the STORM LINE from XMEN) on the big screen. And I went back through and this will be his SECOND movie as a director. I am not filled with confidence however I should give him a chance. As long as they don't let him within three million miles of the script. He shall never be forgiven for the "Toad struck by" line from X-MEN. Never.
-
Oh sweet god no. I love Joss for his tv work, but his movie work has been a joke and a half. This is NOT good news at all. To go from Singer to Whedon is a BIG downgrade.

Kerry looks like Gene Wilder talking about Wonka Vision in that photomanip.
