The sad thing is when Calvin was with the Delmarva Shorebirds, even the people running the snack bar knew what was wrong with him. Pickering REFUSED to play baseball with his contacts...basically, he'd come to the plate nearly blind and swing the bat. Still hit 35 homeruns if I remember correctly. So maybe he is finally playing with his damn contacts.

A weak opening for a weak set of movies. AvP collapsed in on itself, Without a Paddle opened without an audience, Open Water continues to do well, and Spiderman 2 moves within 5 million of Passion for 8th and Shrek 2 will finish 3rd in the US overall. Meanwhile Spiderman 2 looks to finish well behind Spiderman, unless the film can pull in another 38 million dollars.

Isn't David Terrell involved in there somewhere? I'm not shocked by this deal since this IS a Lovie Smith team and he's defensive minded. This just puts all the pressure on Terrell to perform since he'll now be the main target of Rex Grossman.

No Huddle offense? Oh yeah, the Vikings and Bills do that all the time to catch you off guard and get their offense in sync. It didn't work for me, I just kept picking them off to make them short no huddle drives. Soon after, they stopped doing it.

I'll listen to the AMA when they don't call everything on the planet a disease. I swear, you could tell them you stubbed your toe and they will call it a disease. I think they have some kind of disease quota to keep funding. Why should it be called a disease anyway? Is there a pill that can help prevent alcoholism and drug use? Seriously, is there cause I haven't been keeping track.
-
While I do not feel they should be labeled as diseases, they should be treated just as serious. Obviously what I just said makes not an ounce of sense.

Beat most shows on MTV, FOX, UPN, and VH1 that's for sure.

I take the worse franchise and rebuild. I really wish all football games had a Expansion team option where the game would make two expansion teams and you could control one. And the franchise would start with an expansion draft followed by a full draft. It would be more fun for me to build my franchise from the ground up and suffer through a season of crappy football. I want a challenge and building from the ground up would be the ultimate challenge.

Basically, that and some of the older ones have worse sound than VHS.

Some movies haven't found their way to DVD or they are on a really crappy one. Case in point, MAJOR LEAGUE. THAT is a crappy DVD. Some movies I'll buy on VHS cause they are priced lower and I don't need some stupid documentary I'm not going to watch. If I really want a film, I get the DVD. If it's just a "meh, whatever" then I'll buy the VHS.

Considering how many in the horror realm hate Freddy and Jason in the later years and were not too high on Freddy vs Jason, they need someone who the horror fans basically idolize and that would be Bruce Campbell aka Ash. You want the story to make less sense, then you'd include Michael Myers. With Ash, they could find a way. Oh and yes, it would draw. Big time. Freddy and Jason get the mainstream appeal but Ash is the horror fan icon and Campbell is considered by many critics to be a damn fine actor. And acting was the one thing Freddy vs Jason definately did not have.

As long as Christy doesn't win. There is a line between bubbly and happy and STOP TAKING SPEED before the show! I love the red heads, but damn....she needs to be stopped.

Saw the first 20 minutes at Horrorfind. DAMN. In a very good way. That is all.

No one knows about Evil Dead? Have you ever BEEN to a Horror convention? Bruce Campbell packs them in more than Robert Engluand and Kane Hodder COMBINED. Hell, you could toss in the man behind Pinhead and Michael Myers and they don't touch Campbell. He may not be huge mainstream but among the horror fan world, few will top him. There is a good reason why even today Raimi, a director of massive recognition now STILL gets asked if he'll do Evil Dead 4.

I had no problem with the ending to WAR OF THE WORLDS since that ending is much better than say the ending to ID4 or SIGNS. Bacteria killing off the aliens, that's more logical since odds are they would just have come to conquer and not thought about viruses we might carry. If they do WAR, they better not change the ending.

Have you ever actually heard Peroxwhygen? From the song I've heard of theirs they're beyond awful. And calling them beyond awful is being generous.

Which is kinda the point of this Jobber. This will give them the chance if they wish to build up Ash (Campbell) as a big star just from using him in a series that they know people will go to see. No one needs to know who Ash is, you'll get the geek boys who want to see Ash and everyone else will just think he's this bad ass with one liners and a chainsaw. Believe it or not, a lot of people are well aware of Campbell and the character of Ash. Heavy hardcore horror fans will flock to see him return, oddly enough. The plot sounds ok....cept this part confuses me: They top the team with Ash, who needs the money to fund his trip to destroy the book of the dead. Freddy realises Ash has the necronomicon in his dreams, so he has to get into Ash's mind a) Ash doesn't care about the book, he just wants to be left alone. Granted, he is always forced into the situation but he never really made an effort to destroy the book.

And most of us still say to them: uh huh....bite me. Maybe someday they will COMPUTE that people DON'T WANT their favorite band to fold under. If people like the band and the songs, they buy the album. This is not rocket science. Oh I forgot, greed clouds logic.
-
I concur. Then again, I didn't find the Postman to be a horrible movie if you got by the first god damn hour of crap.
-
Thank GOD the aliens had such ADVANCED technology and yet they were Apple compatible. You can barely get most computers to be compatible with most of the crap we have on Earth yet the simple little laptop was not only able to hack into an alien language it should have had no CLUE how to figure out but was able to upload a killer virus. Sorry, I can only suspend so much logic before some forehead slapping happens.

Lucas was really only good on the original Star Wars, so that's not the best comparison. Well, he had American Graffiti. Ok, so he used to be a good writer. It still sorta kinda works in a warped society where flies rule.

Spielberg WAS good, just like George Lucas WAS good. Also, if we want to "aliens die by something so INCREDIBLY STUPID IT MESSES UP EVERYTHING" then we have ID4 which at least had that speech by Pullman. This is a bad idea, Cruise and Spielberg will mess it up because Steve is gone insane and Cruise will sleepwalk through it cause it's a huge budget and he seems to sleepwalk through big budget films.

That's just great. I know I've heard that from somewhere. Speaking of Steve Howe, when WAS his last chance? Naked Gun 33 1/3 Also, he had like...12 or 13 before the Yankees gave up on him.
-
"This is your last chance, and I don't mean like one of those Steve Howe last chances!" I don't feel bad for him. I just wish I had been the pawn shop owner. I'd have kept the ring, wore it in Nebraska and see if I could get any country hotties. Then I would have sold it.
