Heh. It's going to take a lot more than 4 short years for America to get anywhere close to electing a black president, no matter how good of a speaker he is. Besides, NO WAY the Democrats EVER would vote for a black man to be President. The first black President will be a Republican. -=Mike O Definitly.... After all, 'The Republican Party is the party of Abraham Lincoln' - George Bush Its kinda sad when our president doesnt even understand the history of his own party....how Dems/Reps switched platforms...how Lincoln would respect maybe 3 people in the entire current administration... I could mention that Lincoln was actually a rather racist individual --- do you still want to claim Abe is one of yours? Oh wait, that WOULD fit in with the Democrats... It's amazing that the Dems never have had to answer for their history of unmitigated racism, Jim Crow, and the like. -=Mike Ever get the feeling the Democratic party just has a much better PR department than the Republicans?

Yeah, pity neither of them is the choice for the democrats to run against an easy target. Two awesome speakers and the nomination is going to the walking borg John Kerry.

Made it to the Super Bowl and hot damn, ESPN has just won me forever. Unlike Madden, who did nothing to make the Super Bowl feel important (and the game ALWAYS having it raining...it never rains at the Super Bowl), ESPN made the Super Bowl feel like the Super Bowl. Helmets for players run out of, those giant balloon guys of PATRIOTS-CARDINALS, the flyover by the jets, the MVP trophy presentation, everything made it FEEL like not just another game. So major kudos. Now I enter the offseason so I'll give my opinion on that after. So far, this game is perfect.

Well, considering they screwed me seven ways to Sunday against the Seahawks...I hate the officials. But I've had the challenger lose the challenge a few times. Meanwhile, I managed to hold off the Eagles for home field but now I got the Packers in the first round with my NFL sack leader Calvin Pace and top corner Duane Starks out with injuries. So I may be dead.

Then I say they match him and send his ass down to the minors where he can sit till he rots. His agent saying, "He'll only play for the Yankees" when they are offering next to nothing is a joke and the D-Backs will be a even bigger joke if they make the move for what New York is offering. If they are a joke either way, I say they make Randy's life a living hell for doing it to them. Ship him to rookie league and if he gets an "injury", then tell him his ass can't go home and that he has to sit on his fanny with the rest of the team. Johnson is acting like a whining baby and giving him his way is the last thing they should do. And besides, he has never been a peach to be around so I doubt the Arizona clubhouse would care if he sulked.

Odd Christmas gift.

Devoted his life to saving trees. Tree kills him. Irony.

I'm making fun of the irony of the guy getting crushed by a tree. Christ, there is a difference between having a sense of humor about death and mocking the dead. Sorry the guy died but the irony of a professional tree hugger getting crushed by a tree is too perfect. Condolence go out to his family and friends of course, but it's just too golden not to make fun of this. Damn, I bet the dead guy is laughing at the irony. Now if Pat Tillman had been run over by a big sled while trying to catch something thrown by a Iraq soldier, I'd have laughed at the delicious irony.

I just got SCREWED by the NFL officials...in Seattle no less. I came back from down 31-3 in the snow in Seattle to tie the game 31-31 with the ball with less than 45 seconds remaining at the Seahawks 42. One pass and I'd be able to run into position. My quarterback drops back to pass and he is hit WITH HIS ARM THROWING THE BALL which every other time was ruled incomplete. THIS TIME it's ruled a fumble which the Seahawks recover and take back for a touchdown. No damn booth review and I couldn't challenge. So now I'm locked into a battle with the Eagles for homefield instead of wrapping it up with the win in Seattle. Nothing is more frustrating than charging back from 28 points down in one half to LOSE ON A SCREWJOB! Ok, venting done. Love this game but if I had a curse out the NFL officials and risk a fine feature then Dennis Green would be dropping more F bombs than Joe Pesci in Goodfellas.

Team Chemistry is horseshit. Seemed to work well for the Angels and Marlins and even your Yankees.

I think if he learns fast enough and doesn't downgrade then he has a chance to be on the roster next season, though on special teams or third string. This year, I see him making the practice squad if he can keep his mental in check and process the information they throw at him. If he can't, he's done.

Clement's a FA at the end of the year, too, so you run a risk of not re-signing him as well. But Nomar's potential to not re-sign is not what stops me from making the trade. What stops me is that Clement has indeed been awesome this year and thus is worth keeping based on that alone. Good pitching has saved the Cubs' asses so far this year. Couple that with the fact that Prior (and maybe Wood too, who knows) might be up and down with the elbow for the rest of the year and you have extra incentive to hang onto Matt. Shortstop is a problem area for the Cubs, yes, but it's not crippling to them. Blowing a hole in your rotation by trading Clement when the true health of your aces is in question probably would be. I guess I just don't trust Glendon Rusch in crunch time. Agreed. Plus Clement would be much easier to resign than Nomar who will want a big price tag. Also Al, I don't consider deals to the bullpen to be bad trade deadline moves. It's when you try to add a 1 or 2 starter or a major player to a line-up. Team chemistry should never be surrendered when you are in the thick of a playoff race. The Marlins got bullpen help and Jeff Conine, who was more of a "need to fill" hole than an upgrade. Plus he wasn't exactly a huge player to acquire. The major deals don't pay off in the short run and if you can't keep the player then don't deal for them.

I have no trouble with Night, but his movies haven't caught me off guard once. Still good films but I'm yet to see him hit me with a surprise "twist" that leaves me speechless. If you didn't know the ending of Sixth Sense after ten minutes, I pity you.
-
I'd have no trouble with manager/interviewer Piper. Plus him getting fired over those comments was a rather big steaming pile of crap. Firing a guy for statement he made when he didn't even work for you is rather weak.
-
Clement for Nomar? If Nomar isn't long term then HELL NO! Clement has been awesome, not his fault the team doesn't freakin score when he pitches. And as quick as injuries have been, I don't like the idea of handing over Clement for a player who might be there for one half season. Trades at the deadline for serious players DON'T WORK. They just don't. I'm sorry, who was that big name the Marlins picked up? Or the Yankees? And before someone says "Curt Schilling to the D-Backs", they missed the playoffs that first year he was in town after the deal was made. Fifth starter? Sure. Relief pitcher? Sure. Minor role player? Yes. Major name player? No, maybe next year if you can keep him. If the Cubs can't keep Nomar then the deal is worthless.

Kerry's wife should never be allowed to speak again. The one is a touch insane. And also, all these good speeches by Clinton and Obama are setting up Kerry for a huge fall if he can't match them in intensity. The Clinton speech was funny, the Obama speech was powerful so Kerry has his work cut out for him. Just never let his wife near a mic ever again...she sounded like she was going to announce all people must wear tin foil hats after labor day.

Nah, getting pecked in the head by a spotted owl while a bear mauls him cause he's tied to a tree to protest logging. And then the tree crushes the body into the soil for a quickie funeral. Now, that would be perfect.

Since it double posted, I will say the only issue is that the rookies have pictures for all of them. The problem with this is the rookie report has two guards with the SAME FACE. Been cool if they had the same last name, then they could have claimed they were twins and I would have drafted them.

You can actually let them play injured? How exactly..like under what options would I go? And is this only for a broken arm? Because right now I have some injured players..none with a broken arm though. I know Patten's out with a broken foot. And there's nothing I can do about it. You'll want to go under rehab in weekly prep and select the player you want to rehab. BEWARE that the high rehab ones can cause more harm than good and you'll probably only want to use it for guys out for the season. A broken foot, try the immobilize feature under low at least once a week. I can't say if a player can come back from a broken foot, but the rehab is meant to speed up the player's return. Sore muscles you'll want to try the whirlpool and some of the ones under medium that could help with strains and such. Figure out the right rehab and the player could easily go from "out" to "probable" in a week or two.

So....you're saying he has tremendous upside? Please, do not link me with Mel Kiper. I could NEVER achieve his hair. His hair ranks up there with Marty Stuart and Christopher Walken in the "how the hell does it just STAY like that". I don't see where this harms the Vikings at all. The only reason teams didn't chase him down was the question of how fast he learns. That was it.
-
Simple question: Is prep mode on or off? If it is on, you are possibly working guys too hard during the week and leaving them open for injury during the game. If it is off (or heck, even if it is on), well all I can tell you is four injuries a year would actually be a blessing in the NFL for the real teams. Plus broken arms can be "immobilized" and the guy will play with a cast on. I had Ronald McKinnon break his arm, I immobilized it two times over two weeks and suddenly he was back on the field WITH a visable cast. He went from "out for the season" to out for two weeks, bless his soul. The only downside I have hit so far is....well.....ok, I haven't but I am waiting and expecting.

John Madden I'm sorry, but Madden hasn't made a good point since 1987. His comments really don't come off like he is a football guru, rather he comes off like a drunk fan who stumbled into the booth and tied up Madden. "You know, it's a lot harder to come back from 21 points than 14." Well gee, thanks for shedding light on that for me John. Next, would you like to explain to me what that brown thing the guy who says HIKE is throwing? Does it have a name John? "A quarterback who can move around is more dangerous than one who can't." REALLY JOHN?!?!? Dear god, what would I ever do without you! You know, people who have never seen the game of football know those simple points. I would just love to see Madden call a baseball game so I can hear, "you know, it's much better when the pitcher is striking batters out instead of walking them."

It's Skip Bayless. The guy wouldn't say something smart if it was written on a cue card for him. He's more obnoxious than Stephen A. Smith with even less charisma. Although day of Clueless makes me turn off PTI.

I saw it the first time when it was called "Breakin" But I did download it just to see if I was wrong. And no, I saw it the first time when it was called "Breakin" and it was ten times better then.

I'm not. I think with some technique and such, that he can be pretty damn dominant. I agree Size and speed goes a long way in the NFL. He learns the game fast then he could easily be a solid addition to the Vikings.
