I have a season running with Arizona and my only complaint is the rookie wide outs in the game all seem to suffer from stone hands. Fitz can't catch a cold and he is causing interceptions with his inability to catch a damn football. I'm learning the controls quite quickly and I like a game where a better team can beat the life out of me if I make mistakes. I don't like that the line doesn't seem to pick up a blitz well at all but that might be more to do with the Cards line just plain sucking. Also, I thought there was an option where you could work the life out of one of your players? Am I just not finding that or was it removed from the game? Cause Fitz needs some god damn practice with his hands before I trade his ass.

Hawkins has only blown two saves since earning the job. His season ERA is 2.81, and his K:BB ratio is 40/9. I see nothing to indicate he is not a cabable closer. He's not a sure thing like Hoffman, Smoltz or Gagne, but not every team can have an All-Star closer. Bottom line is, the Cubs have several issues they could improve before their closer. It has nothing to do with Hawkins not being capable, the thing is he is better as a set-up man than in a closer role which he does not excel. The Cubs were looking much better with Latroy as the set-up man to someone else in the closer spot. At this point I'd like to see the Cubs start to groom Wellemeyer for the spot and move Latroy back to the set-up role that he dominates in. Shortstop will improve now that Gonzo is back, the starting staff just needs to get healthy so no point make a move for that position. The bullpen will be much better now that Rem is back. I'd rather just have Latroy in the spot he is best designed for than having to try use guys out of order trying to get to the final inning. I am very high on Wellemeyer with his fastball and feel he could become sorta like a Gagne if given the time.

For some of us in the middle, it's not that we don't want to vote for Bush but we aren't being given another option. And no, Kerry and Mr. Third Party are not options. I know I might have voted for Kerry if he would take a stand on something and not bounce around like a super ball. And I don't believe in that "anything is better than Bush" motto since I'm not 100% sure Kerry really is any different than Bush. Kerry seems like he could be a crippling blow to the party since he comes off more like Dukakis or however you spell that tank riding idiots name. Right now they are doing the only thing they can do. Impact! has one hour to promote a PPV, get over the ability of the talent on the PPV (squash matches), and debut the talent they do have. It's next to impossible to squeeze all of that into an hour. The only chance they have is to get a second hour. Without a second hour, I don't know what they can do except what they are doing now.

Yes, they do, but Petey Williams "Canadian Destroyer" finisher looks both cool and incredibly fake at the same time. It's about as believable as Killings axe kick looking vicious. Yeah, but a finisher is basically meant to just pop a crowd right? Well, that move pops a crowd even though it looks fake as hell. Fake as hell sure, but damn awesome to see. I had to stop and rewind four times seeing that move for the first time. It's like "how the hell..." and that is exactly what you want for a finisher.

Jeff Hardy is already going to end up feuding with Double J? Bad move. Make sure he is balanced and stable before doing that. Hot shotting him isn't going to help.

Actually, it makes more sense that the Flair book is losing the poll. Remember the scene with The Hurricane? Seems like they are setting up the, "Flair didn't reach the top of something he did" thing with it starting to eat away at Flair. Course, even if it gets to #1 they can run the angle but it works better having it seem like the fans no longer believe in him and see him as nothing more than a lackey to Evolution.

I wouldn't make Ryan the closer. Left-handers rarely get turned into closers because they have value as setup men when managers play matchups. I'd rather have Ryan to bridge the game to Julio than send Julio packing and make Ryan the closer. Julio's shown he has the stuff and the mental makeup to be a major-league closer. The team just needs to get him more save chances. Anything that got DeJean out of town was fine with me. I have no idea why he was even signed in the first place. Now if only we hadn't made that bloody stupid trade for Grimsley... They should be slapped for the deal for Grimsley. God, he has the talent of a garden slug and the only one worse than him was Dejean. I think they would be insane to move Julio or Ryan since they make a solid 1-2 punch in the bullpen with the exact step up you said.

You know, JBL has a very Lt. Dangle of RENO 911 feel to him and it works surprisingly well. However the crowd was dead as possible, which is a shame considering he's not that horrible on the mic anymore. Course the Summerslam match looks more like Lt. Dangle vs Eddie Montgomery than Bradshaw vs The Undertaker.

This is one of the main areas Leary REALLY knows a lot about considering his family. I had no doubts about him in this role. The only doubt I had was about the title, which makes me think of that song and that is never a good thing.

I actually like Gibbons so hearing he might go is not good news to me. Same with Ryan since a left hander in the bullpen can be huge. Hairston/Roberts, yeah one of them will go and more than likely it'll be Hairston. It's a damn shame cause I like all three of those players and knowing they might get dealt while players like Jason Grimsley (why?!?!) and Sidney Ponson (god, lose 40 pounds and you'll be good!) stay is annoying. Even though he is a mammoth risk, I'd like to see Baltimore take a shot at acquiring Barry Vito. Yes, I know this goes completely against what I said in another thread but I think a change in location could actually help him and the A's seem willing to move him. He'd be an upgrade and he is still reasonable with his age. Not to mention the FA market might be a little low next year with starters since no chance in hell they go after Pedro plus he'll be questionable anyway. The bats are there but the pitching is either too young or just not talented enough. I hope some team out there is dumb enough to go after Ponson, I don't care if they offer a AA catcher and a rookie league pitcher, it would be worth it to get him out of town with his contract. The Cubs need a closer if they want to make a run at the wild card. Hawkins is just better in the set-up role and Wellmeyer is about a year away from being given a shot at the job. I don't know who is on the block though is the main problem. And dear god I don't want the Cubs making a run at Jose Mesa. Odds are they make a serious play for Nomar next year as well although I don't know how they would do it. Personally, I like Gonzo but the Cubs just don't.

Agreed on those guys and they have to quit making trades for guys with no upside to them. If they are going to give up good players, they need to start grabbing good ones and not ones who are a crap shoot on whether an injury or surgery they are coming off will work out. As for my other team, the Cubs...I'd say: Sosa Wood Prior Alou is hitting the ball well but he's not the best arm in left, Aramis is coming around but he still needs work on his fielding, Patterson won't hit the damn ball on the ground instead of swinging for the fence, Lee is very good at first but he can get into massive slumps, Clement is great but he's still a starting pitcher and the Cubs are still loaded down on the farm at that position every year it seems. And Carlos needs to get some mental control cause he is close to breaking down and slugging an umpire. Sosa is the money star/ Hall of Famer (even though Wrigley doesn't need one), Wood and Prior are still the guns of the staff and core of the pitching future. But the Cubs better not deal Todd Wellmeyer, I think that kid could be a future closer for them.

The ladder match has been the one gimmick match they don't overuse so I don't think they need to start now. And frankly, as much as I still dislike Orton, he is above the IC title by now. I remember when the IC title was basically the stepping stone to the WWF title for the ones who could get over. Like Hitman, Austin, Rock, Triple H, HBK, and almost everyone who has held the title. Orton needs to move up and Kane needs to drop down. Until the Big Red Dope can put on a PPV match that isn't horrible, he needs to be removed from the RAW main event. Same goes for Edge although he is more out of pure need since they are busy sinking Jericho and HBK is nursing injuries.

Here is a crazy question: Has Vince ever had anything OUTSIDE of wrestling succeed at all? I know his bodybuilding Federation tanked, the XFL tanked (which wasn't right to the XFL but they didn't have a hook), and now he wants to get into movies when some of the smaller film studios are folding left and right?
