Supposedly the Cubs were cursed by a fan and his goat. Otherwise, I don't know of any fan curses that worked.

I will never agree. The minute the NFL opens the NBA flood gates then it goes down with that league. Maurice is an injury prone small running back who wouldn't amount to more than a special teams returner. And I would love him to win his court case and then no one draft him. Then what? Claim racism against the NFL owners for not recognizing he is God's gift to football? I'm tired of hearing about him.

Yo, Youth? Off topic for a moment, what the hell is that scene from in your sig? And was it any good? It kinda looks like Equilibrium with Christian Bale, but I wanted to find out if it was and if it was any good. On topic again: How long has MADE been on the air now? Is this like the third season?

But avoid that "getting out" thing they have lined up right? Cause you know, who wants to get made and then have to worry about disrespecting the wrong person? Damn, Burger King is just too rough on their employees I swear! Anyway, I watched one episode and that was one too many. MTV is just no fun anymore for any reason....well, maybe Viva La Bam.

Canada has an army? REALLY?

They could always dressed him up as La Parka only call him Parka LA And is it just me or are they about to try the Razor Ramon gimmick with him??? I mean, the bastard already has the toothpick in his mouth and acts like an asshole. Or GLACIER! Dress him up as GLACIER! And have him feud with Ernest Miller! BRILLANT!

Yep. If I recall it was due to some pretty major recruiting violations that nearly resulted in the death penalty. Instead Jack Pardee and Jenkins (can't remember his first name now) put in the Run-and-Shoot, put up ungodly numbers (95-17 vs. SMU comes to mind) and didn't go anywhere. Of course that was during the final days of the SWC (Southwest Conference) when football recruits in high school would suddenly get a lot of cash and sometimes brand new cars just before national signing day. BTW I wholeheartedly support Kotenz's drive to bring us all things Kylie. All probation in college football is really a death sentence if you are minor college football program though. Look at SMU, they STILL haven't recovered from that death sentence they received. Houston is slowly coming back but SMU is still gone and forgotten.

Eli Manning is the most overrated QB in college football and if his last name wasn't Manning then he wouldn't even be talked about as one of the best in college football. The Manning last name is treated like god's gift to QB lately and it's making me ill when I look at this guy. His team won two more games not because he improved but because his opponent got weaker. When you look at his numbers in the big games his team won, he was average at best in those games guys. He didn't throw a touchdown against Florida, but did get picked off. He threw one pick and one touchdown against LSU but was a horrible 16/36 for 200 yards. When you look at his schedule and yes, I watched him on tv a few times since ESPN2 was in love with him, he wasn't as impressive as people seem to make him out to be. He got better sure, but the Heisman isn't about getting better year to year last time I checked. It is the best player in college football and sadly somewhere along the line people forgot what the award was about. Eli has a very strong arm but his accuracy doesn't impress me, his touchdown numbers don't impress me and his big game performance doesn't impress me. When I think of impressive I think of Phillip Rivers, who as I said, the Wolfpack would NOT have won one game without him. He threw for 422 yards with 4 touchdowns in an overtime loss to Florida St, threw for 315 with 4 TDs and 2 INTs against Ohio St, and his only bad game was against Maryland with 262 yards and an INT with a knee injury from the beating he took. And now I look at the major awards and even THEY are being treated like the Heisman now. The best overall player in the country of those three was Fitzgerald followed by White. Manning is good, but he is not as good as people make him out to be.

They lost the conference, that is all. They see Oklahoma as the Nebraska team that got hammered into the ground by Miami because they lost the conference. Granted, those Huskers didn't even GO to the damn title game and still got in but it happens. If Oklahoma had lost the game BEFORE the conference title game and still won the conference, their is no backlash. It would just be "Oklahoma is not immortal as we once thought" talk instead of "they didn't win their conference, they aren't ranked in the top two of either poll so why are they going" talk. People would be reacting the same damn way if LSU was undefeated going in against Georiga and had lost their title game by four scores. Only then, we'd have FOUR teams in the BSC mess and USC would have been ranked #1 in the AP/COACHES and yet #4 in the BSC, thus causing small riots. So in truth, Oklahoma was the second worse case situation. See, now you can just say "It could have been worse".

Well, my teams used to be so bad that people wondered why the hell I was a fan: NFL: New England Patriots NBA: Dallas Mavericks MLB: Chicago Cubs and Baltimore Orioles (ok, still bad) College: Florida St football, Florida St and Ohio St basketball, Florida St baseball Hockey: The Mighty Ducks (we need Gordon Bombay) The point is you have to stick with your teams cause when they win, it is f'n sweet.

Actually, it sounds pretty sound. Odds are management isn't exactly confident Crippler would get a huge pop once he won the title so they put him in a place where they KNOW they will get this huge pop thus making the title seem important. I've heard worst ideas. True or false, I'd like to see it happen.

Since you are a Yankees fan, I have to ask this question that I want to ask most Yankee fans Has the boss lost his mind?
-
He wants to enter right out of high school? And he's white???? Is he 9 feet tall with three point range? And isn't it sad that the stereotype of white guys having no high school playing skills still rings true in my mind?
-
That's just it...teams CAN get that done. The Marlins essentially got that done this year by not making any big name deals at the trade deadline. Hell, even the Yankees did it right until they chased down Armando Long Ball from the Mets. Even the most minor player can be huge down the stretch for teams.

Ask Baltimore how that buying hired guns thing worked out in the end. Plus, baseball seems to be a changing landscape. Speed and young pitching seems to be the thing that is getting the ring. I mean, who in the hell have any of us really known on the last two World champions? You keep the team intact, you don't make any big name trades at the trade deadline and you let your team grow together.

Play to his skills Give him the first Lex Luger gimmick, a cocky asshole who thinks he is god's gift to women and loves the way he looks more than anyone ever could. Have him talk in the third person when talking about himself as well. Drop the Legend Killer bullshit since he hasn't killed one damn legend. I could do a Hawk joke here, but I refrained cause that would be cruel and cold and...well, I'm not established enough to try it. Then give him a female valet, possibly that Diva search woman, who cares a mirror around for him. And when I say mirror, I mean a full body mirror that she wheels out and then during a match he can throw his first opponent (Tommy Dreamer) through it so he can show he has a violent side. A cocky dick who loves himself but is also brutal? How can that NOT get him over?

They spent more than others to obtain the rights to negotiate with Soriano and Rivera, so technically those players are bought and paid for as well. Also when Jeter was drafted he said he wouldn't play for any team other than the Yankees, so other teams didn't bother with him...but ya, he was drafted by them. Only true prospects to come from the Yanks farm system are Jeter, Posada, Pettitte, and Nick Johnson. Well Pettitte and Nick Johnson are gone so there ya go Well, it's not shocking since they have seemingly ripped the heart out of the farm system going after guys like Jeff Weaver. I'm not against them spending the cash, but it just seems like the Yankees are becoming nothing more than a team of hired guns instead of a tradition. I hate the Yankees, but I'd play for them in a second. Now...some of the mystique just feels like it is slowly slipping away cause it's nothing more than gunslingers coming in for a season or two then leaving. I liked Jeter cause he was more of a home grown Yankee. Granted, I also dislike him cause he is a Yankee.

Arthur Rhodes may be the most underappreciated pitcher in baseball. I know he won't go back to Baltimore and the Cubs don't seem to want to move on him. Philly would be a strong fit since their bullpen always seemed to be the hole last season. I wouldn't be shocked if the Astros made a move on him or maybe Texas or the Angels.

Rey I would say at the moment. But it's hard to say cause what exactly IS a cruiserweight? Are we talking the WCW definition? Cause if we go with the WCW definition then you have Jericho and Eddie and Chavo and a whole new list. If we go by WWE standards, then I'd say Rey Jr.
-
I have a wild and crazy question What are the Yankees doing to their farm system??? This team seems to have traded every solid prospect they have. I mean, I don't get what they are doing. Do they forget where Derek Jeter, Maraino Rivera and Soriano came from??

Right. Try to convince yourself of that. No one has owned Rock on the mic yet, and Cena certainly won't be able to. Cena's lines are all pre-determined backstage, but I'd love to see him improvise with Rock, Austin, or even '97 Michaels. It takes a special talent to be able to go out there and shoot the shit without scripting every single word. I don't think Cena has that yet. Cena actually does have the ability to do those lines on his own since he's done it to a few people after events just on basic information. The guy has skills for it. But against the Rock? Hey, I like Cena....but no chance in hell can he go mic for mic with Rock. Not yet at least. It just seems like it's the best torch passing though since Cena is probably the best mic skills on Smackdown in terms of....umm....smacking people down. I'd say Rock vs Jericho but Jericho seems to be turning face so that doesn't work. And Orton...my god, you want to talk about two guys who are nowhere near each other on the mic. The more I think about it, none of the young guns are ready for the Rock. If any are close, it's Cena but Cena is a face so that doesn't work unless Rock turns heel.

How exactly did Haas escalate the situation is what I'm not getting? Did he throw the first punch? Or did he defend himself against a overly pissed off Eddie? I'm starting to think the WWE needs a classroom for detention or someone in charge of timeouts and nap time.

Are we making the assumption that the US would even allow good candiates to survive the primary elections to even get in the running to be president? Come on, Powell wouldn't make it through Iowa. Sad state of affairs but 100% true. Chris Rock as an independent would have a better chance than Powell as a republican. Vote Chris Rock/George Carlin in 2004! They'll get s*it done!

It might be my medication talking....but some of that made sense.
