    WWE Old School

Sheik-Slaughter is insanely disappointing but Volkoff vaulting into the ring at the end (he was one athletic dude when he wanted to be) was pretty awesome.

    WCW Japan Supershow 91

Tony mentioning "Juhshin Layger' before the match was awesome.

    Legends Programming

Everyone needs to watch the Terry Funk ep of Film Room before it's gone, if just for the infamous "motor oil" promo at the end. Also, the Putski HOF doc is noteworthy for including the Putski-Superstar Graham interpretation of the famous Ray Stevens-Pepper Gomez angle.

    Primetime Disscussion Thread

This week's Prime Time is pretty fun for various reasons: - Orndorff and Hercules having a fun match with a ridiculous amount of crowd sweetening. - Heenan calling Strike Force "La Bamba and Lucky Pierre." - Tito-Haku is pretty solid. - (Paraphrased) Heenan: Haku was ahead on points. Gorilla: There are no points in professional wrestling. Heenan: Santana doesn't know that! - The crowd relentlessly making fun of Mike Sharpe's LOUD "Argh! Agh! Ah! Oh!" selling by yelling "Oohhhhhhhhhh!" each time hedoes it. - The "Girls in Cars" video followed by Heenan's joke sort of bombing but still being awesome (something about Strike Force being late because Martel is Canadian and thus was looking for antifreeze while Santana being Mexican was looking for a metal dog hood ornament).

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

DVDVR discussion with juicy tidbits starting here. I don't have my copy yet (I blame Media Mail) but from talking to those who have it and reading those posts, it sounds incredible, with tons of previously unreleased information that borders on scary at times. Through the grapevine, I've heard that there's a bunch of NJPW dojo stuff (including a detailed passage about Hiromitsu Gompei's death as well Benoit being tortured and then going on to torture others when he became an estabished star), the truth about Dave Lagana's firing, Dean Malenko feeding Eddy Guerrero drugs, and a bunch of other fucked up material. I'll post a full review after I read it. Anyone here get it yet?

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

So in other words, this book features flat out lies. This isn't even a half-truth, this is directly misleading and a lie. If this book can't even get simple facts straight and creates scenarios to make the author's argument seem stronger, than this book isn't worth wiping my ass with. Hall repeated the joke from '98 in '02. Meltzer is reaching.

    WarGames

Yes it is, since it had no connection to what I was saying.

    WarGames

Bunkhouse Buck = Jimmy Golden, not Terry Golden, and Wargames '94 is pretty rad.
  9. John Lister explains it better than I could:

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion

Actually, the WM 24 DVD is a 16:9 video that is cropped using the "pan & scan" setting in the IFOs to display as 4:3 full screen on 4:3 TVs.

For what it's worth, Watts ALWAYS believed in having strong heels.

My review is up at Adam Lash's IndyWrestlingNews.com.

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

    I wrote the book?!?!?!

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

The whole book is about him being a lunatic. I seem to recall that passages that mention the murders in future tense tend to be about him being crazy.

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

Heavens to mergatroid, could it be?!?!?!

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

Bret mentioned this in his book.

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

That isn't new info, it's been in the WON a zillion times.

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

It's about Benoit, it just happens to have a LOT of other related information to put the fucked up business into perspective.

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

It looks to be a fascinating and detailed book which, besides covering Benoit's 2 decade spiral, provides an unprecedented look behind the curtain with the NJPW dojo stories, real reason for Lagana's firing, etc. Who are you to judge when you seem to know nothing about the book other than OMG ITS ABOUT DEAD BABBYS?

    So, "Ring of Hell"...

What purpose does any book have? geez

ALL REPORTERS ARE LEECHERS WHO ARE TRAGEDY PROFITEERS WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH You do understand how ridiculous that sounds, right?
  22. Working link here.
  23. Because most internet wrestling fans don't have 25G's to drop on a hooker? Exactly. And conversely: Why have we never heard of The Other Ashley Massaro before? She has nothing to do with wrestling and has done nothing newsowrthy, so why would we ever hear about her? Back during the Attitude Era, we weren't aware of all the other people in the world named "Steve Austin" either. Same reasoning: Wrestling fans are fairly obsessive, plus she has the same occupation.
  24. The idea has actually been floated by various people in the business at times, by people as varied as nuts like John "Pee Wee" Moore, idiots like the TNA writing team (the infamous "shoot X division" idea), and even more reasonable types like Nick Bockwinkel. I seem to recall someone doing it in the midwest for one show (possibly involving Moore) and it bombing horribly.
  25. Apparently, people within WWE (writers & wrestlers) swear that it's true and a writer was the original online source of the rumor.
