    Did You Miss Me?

Hey everybody, I'm actually making a new post! Hooray for you! Truth is, even though I haven't updated in awhile....or for a very long time anyhow, I'm actually kinda bored and cooking dinner while waiting for Letterman to come on, so I figured I'd take the time to post something since I haven't in a long while. First things first, for those who haven't seen the posts in the Indy Wrestling thread, Devil Mountain Wrestling (where I'm training) has been running shows for the past few months. The shows have been going really well, I really haven't heard anything negitive from any of the fans who have gone to the shows, so I'm very pleased about that. We have another show coming up on the 13th (next Saturday) and I'm looking forward to it. Mainly because we're having a Halloween Battle Royal. The Halloween Battle Royal is just a royal rumble type of battle royal except all the people in the match dress up as other wrestlers or in some type of costume. I'm actually going to be in the match, I know what I'm going as but I'm going to wait until after the match happens to actually post what I went as and how it went, and yes I'll post about it, sooner or later. Speaking of Devil Mountain Wrestling, training has been going.....umm..alright. About a month ago, I thought I was doing really well, I actually figured out how to get my body to get a front flip and it seemed I was getting things more and more, but then we took about a week in a half off after the last show, and it all seemed to just go away. I forgot how to front flip and it seems, I'm getting more and more sloppy with learning moves. Mentally I can figure these things out but phyiscally, I'm having a lot of trouble. I don't know why all of a sudden it seems I have forgotten everything I have learned, hopefully I'll be able to get back to where I was before we took that week in a half off. I'm also about 90% sure, I won't be continuing my wrestling training in the beginning of 2008. When you train with DMW, you sign a contract. One contract, the first contract, (I think this contract is still around.) you sign a 3 month contract to see if you want to stick around after 3 months. The second contract is a 1 year contract. Basically you train for one year and if you decide to stop training because it's not for you, you still have to finish the payments. My contract ends in Jan. 2008 as I started in Jan of 2007. There's a few reasons why I'm pretty sure I won't keep training at least in the beginning of 2008. 1. (The Main Reason) I just can't afford to pay for another year. It's a monthly payments but currently money is really tight and to be honest, the stress of living pay check to pay check is something that's really taking a mental drain on me. So I think it's just best to wait a little bit and get my money issues straighten before I put more effort into my training. 2. I would like more free time, wrestling training is either 3 to 4 days a week and sometimes I don't have a lot of free time and there's some stuff I still want to do and learn. For example, while I do have a good job at the moment, within a few years it'll most likely a dead-end job. I think I want to go back to school and learn a trade so I can get a job that most likely won't be a dead-end job. I'm thinking I want to become a electriction or a plumber. 3. I'm really enjoy Refereeing. I'm having a blast doing it, and everytime I do a show as a Ref, I enjoy doing it more and more. I'm really thinking about just being a Referee. Yes, when I first got into it, I wanted to become a wrestler but with my troubles in training, Refereeing just feels right. I'm not a 100% sure right now, but I'm really thinking about just being a Ref, so after my training contract ends, I'm just going to Ref for a few months and see where it takes me. Now that doesn't mean I won't get back into the ring and re-start my training down the road. I just want to take a few months to take care of things in my personnal life and see how I feel about just being a Ref. Being a Ref is going really well for me at the moment. I'm now pretty much working for all the promotions here in North California except for two. One being APW and the other is PCW. I actually can't work for PCW, I've been asked to come up by another Referee, but PCW normally runs on Saturdays in Oroville, and Oroville is something like 2 hours towards Sac...actually past Sacramento and I have Rocky Horror on Saturdays, so traveling a few hours in the opposite direction of Rocky isn't really a good idea. I don't work for APW...well because it's APW and I have no desire to work for them, but I am working for just about everywhere else and I couldn't be more pleased with myself. I'm now Refereeing for Devil Mountain Wrestling, California Championship Wrestling, BRAWL, NAW, and I just started Ref'ing for SPW. SPW also runs a show called Punkslam and I've been asked to Ref for that show as well as long as my schdule lets me. Punkslam is basically a Wrestling show that has Punk bands playing live. I've actually never been to one myself but I hear they're really fun to work. Not only am I working for all those promotions but I'm also (currently) schduled to Referee the Malice at the palace show that's taking place at the Cow Palace in San Fransisco for the WrestleFanFest wrestling convention and it's also schduled to air on Pay Per View. So it's a big thing for me. Depending on how well I perform at the show, a lot of MAJOR doors could open up for me, so that's a big thing. So right now, other than my actual wrestling training going from better to "what the hell happen?", things have been going good Refereeing and show wise. I'm Ref'ing all over the place and every show I do is doing great.

    Did You Miss Me?

Yes. There is so much stuff people don't realize about Refereeing. It's mainly a lot of small things but when you use those small things, it helps out a match and whatever else a lot.

WWE General Discussion - October 2007

I don't think it was the fact that Atlas didn't know who Punk was, it sounds like Atlas as a vet was telling someone who hasn't been around as long as him something and thought Punk was going to do it because Atlas told him so. So when Punk didn't do it, Atlas got upset and made that speech because of it.

I'd rather them just move the Cruiserweight title over to ECW and re-name it the tv title. Vickie could even send some of the cruiserweights over to ECW as a deal with Armando.
  9. I realize that they can't always give the fans exactly what they want when they want it, but the point is ultimately to tell a good story. The point I've tried to make is that I've lost faith that the E, in any incarnation, will give me the ultimate payoff that this sort of screwjob should result in. Thus, I can't bring myself to enjoy these kinds of twists...I see it as one more story that will disappoint me in the end. A personal problem perhaps, but something I'm sure others have experienced/are experiencing with the E. I understand you lost faith in WWE to tell a good story...to be honest, I lost a lot of faith in them as well, thats why I just sit back and watch the clusterfuck if it becomes one. Now to Oldskool's comments. Yes, I don't think the booker/writer(S) shouldn't always give what the fans want. So like with the ECW title chase, yes, fans wanted to see Dreamer in the title match, it's what the fans wanted, but the booker/writer(s) did the opposite to be able to keep certain storylines (hopefully) going. I admit, I don't like the fact that V was just thrown into the title match after 3 weeks of watching 4 people bust their asses off in good matches, but I understand why it happened the way it did. It won't make the fans happy, but thats the point of this storyline. The fans are not suppose to like what Armando did. Will the Punk vs V match make any extra buys...most likely not but....I lost my train of thought.

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)

So I think I just saw the hiptoss you guys were talking about. The match is up on youtube. Looks like it might be both their faults..or it might be a accident, here's a few things I noticed that could have caused it. 1. The momentum of the two during the hiptoss threw them both off of how that was suppose to land. 2. Cena was in the middle of the ring when going for the hiptoss instead of being closer to the ropes. 3. Kennedy didn't land on his back and instead of going straight, he seemed to go to his left, which very well could have hooked Cena's arm. 4. Cena seemed to land on his side, instead of face or knees, and because of this, Cena's arm was under Kennedy when Kennedy Landed. 5. Kennedy could have went to the left instead of going straight on his flip because they were so close to the ropes, Kennedy didn't want to either land on the ropes or go through the ropes. That's what I noticed and also just like Jingus, I am a Referee on the indy circuit and(!) I'm also in pro wrestling training.

...but he doesn't talk like he has marbles in his mouth. I have to see the hiptoss to judge, is there a link to it? I didn't tape Raw.

WWE General Discussion - October 2007

I've never met Melissa, but I know a lot of people who have worked with her.....don't be to surprised if you never see her really make it to either TNA or WWE. Well Vince won't hire APW workers so that isn't exactly a huge stretch....they have to get far away from APW and Roland Alexander in specific, he makes all his talent sign some deal where if they get a big money deal he gets a percentage, Vince pretty much thinks the guys a huge piece of shit and won't sign any of their workers until they get far away from him and aren't under that deal anymore. Actually a few APW workers were used a bit ago. One being used twice and that's Kafu. Kafu wrestled Big Daddy V a few months ago in a handi-cap match. Kafu wore the tarzan looking tights.

Why is Kennedy being blamed again? I really haven't read much of the thread, I just noticed Kennedy is being blamed somehow.
  15. Point taken, but that would presume that I thought the show was somewhat real; everyone who watches should know that whole deal's a show, right? Or am I being hopelessly optimistic here? My real problem, as noted above, is that when you pull something like this, you need to make it part of a long-term program that ultimately results in the bad guys getting the short end of the stick. I have no faith that the E is going to follow this up properly. I pray that they will surprise me and do things right, but given the E's general record, I just don't see it. Sure, ECW is the best show overall for wrestling at the moment, but it's still part of the E, and usually the company's policy of overpushing misbehaving or talentless humps wins out in the end. Guys that work hard and put on a good show generally get tossed into the morass of the dead-end midcard. The actual point I was trying to make was sometimes we forget that bookers/writers look as the fans as just that, fans. Fans who aren't suppose to be mad at the bookers or writers for some kind of storyline. A booker/writer's job is to tell a story that eithers pisses off or pleases the fans. That's their only job and a lot of fans, espically internet fans, really tend to forget that and when something happens that a fan or fans didn't want to happen, they get mad at the booker/writer(s) because something got changed. Now I do agree that Dreamer vs Punk would have been nice to see, but the Big Daddy Feud vs CM Punk was basically started after Striker vs Punk last weekn when BDV attacked Punk after the match. Yes, the chase was actually a good program and was a nice change of pace, but the writer/booker(s) did something that's apart of their job and that's piss off the fans by taking Tommy out of it and having BDV become the #1 contender by destorying Tommy. The whole point of what happen was this, help Tommy become a better babyface, plus keep Tommy's old "I keep getting screwed over by someone" ECW gimmick going, make Big Daddy V look like more of a threat to Punk and his title, and make Armando more of a dick GM. So yeah, the payoff of the chase didn't give the fans really what they wanted to see, but that happens a lot in pro wrestling and it should. If the fans got what they always wanted, pro wrestling would be boring and only certain people would get over while others got no where. It'd be like WCW backstage all over again. One other point I just thought of, if Tommy Dreamer vs the evil GM keeps going and it actually gets over with the fans, and helps Tommy get over even more (again I think Sandman would be a better fit), Morrison vs Dreamer with Tommy finally getting a title shot (imagine Beniot vs Evil GM Heyman, except WWE doesn't fuck it up) after beating all the odds, we get that pay off we wanted with HOPEFULLY a proper build.

Basically, from what I understand, not a very good backstage person from my understanding. Like I said, I haven't worked with her before, but I know people who have and don't like working with her from previous experiances. I know a lot of people who USED to work for APW. Coke whore? Never heard anything like that...so I'm going with no.

  18. Now you said your mad at the bookers/writers. Say you didn't know anything about the behind the scenes of pro wrestling, you don't know that there are writers or bookers, your just a casual fan who enjoys pro wrestling....would you be mad at the booker/writers or would be mad at the GM for screwing over Dreamer?

    Smackdown Vs Raw 08

........so you didn't play 2007? I played it a couple of times, but I changed the controller scheme to be like the older games. When I went through the control set up in the 08 demo, you only had two choices. The second one required the dpad for movement which through me off a litlte bit. D-pad movement is old school. I actually prefer d-pad movement in wrestling game over the analog stick. It's also just the demo, so there's still a chance you will be able to have more options to change the control sceme in the actual game. Please don't tell me Corvon's finisher is the armbar. It's not the pounce? Period.

    Smackdown Spoilers for 10/5

I have a feeling, they just won't use Steele for awhile. They may have just used him just for the hell of it, like they do with other wrestlers from promotions from towns the WWE is doing a show in. Well, he is under contract, so it wasn't a case like Collyer who works the local Ohio shows. I'm shocked no one pointed out Burchil and Regal teaming in the dark match. I know it was done just because they were nearby Louisville but I'd really like the idea of Regal bringing Burchil in as his enforcer. Didn't they do that already before Burchill decided he was in fact a pirate? Not quite. Burchil was just his protege. If Burchil sticks with the Ripper gimmick, he'd be effective in that role. Eh, I'm not looking to deep into it. It was a dark match and I thought Burchil had been teaming with Dave Taylor as of lates, so maybe Taylor wasn't booked and threw Regal in to take his place.

  23. Yeah, and I didn't fucking like it when they hotshotted the title to Credible...without ever showing Dreamer's victory on TV...in 2000 either. It also doesn't make any sense to throw him into the Elimination Chase, and no, "Estrada's a heel GM" doesn't cut it. The plan since Viscera came to ECW was to make him a top heel monster on the program and eventually have a CM Punk/BDV feud, if last week didn't clue you in to what was eventually going you happen, then you're naive. You honestly thought Dreamer was going to get the title shot, and the whole thing with BGV destroying CM Punk would be ignored? C'mon now, I saw this coming from a mile away. I'm interested to see how this match will play out. While BDV isn't a good worker by any means, he isn't a big lazy slug and can actually move around pretty good for his size. If CM Punk can drag a decent match out of him, I'll give him all the respect in the world. One thing I also wanted to throw out, a few weeks ago (I think it was a few weeks ago), Dreamer went to Astrada and asked for a title match, Astrada didn't think Tommy deserved one so he screwed Tommy over by feeding him to Big Daddy V. It's all part of a story that has been happening for weeks now. I understand that this is what they intended to do, but man, did it annoy me. Now, that can be mollified if they follow this up with Dreamer doing an "Against the Odds" feud with El Commandante over the next couple of months, culminating in possibly another shot at the title as Dreamer slowly builds up enough wins or AAE backs himself into a corner by guaranteeing a title shot if Dreamer wins some ridiculous gamut of matches and Dreamer pulls it off. I just don't expect the E to follow up on this in any way other than as another nod to Dreamer as the perpetual loser. See, the whole point of the storyline got across to the fans. It annoyed you. I understand what you mean that the WWE may not follow up with the Dreamer vs Evil GM thing (Sandman would be more fitting), but ECW has actually been really good on keeping up with continuing storylines and what have you. I don't think ECW has really screwed that up, and no I'm not counting Snitsky or Big Daddy V as they were repackaged for ECW.
