Those e-feders... they have their own rules down there. I can't bear the thought of venturing outside this safe harbor up here

Remember the good times we had at TPWW? Those were good times

Around '02 or so, when Rome really began tightening his sphincter and mounting his high-horse more frequently, as well as taking NASCAR's cock in his mouth after years of (rightly) mocking it, I eventually found myself only listening because of the callers/emailers, but that whole cancer-kid thing was one of the last straws for me. One funny thing I remember a couple months before I quit listening though: when Rome condemned his callers for making fun of Amelie Mauresmo's manliness after she won Wimbledon, but then a couple days later he fell into his old "WNBA players are horses" bit...

Don Coryell and (potentially) Tony Dungy would also fall into this group

I can understand letting a player into the HoF even if they failed to make the Super Bowl (there's several of those, actually), but I would never consider a coach who fails to reach it

I quit listening to Rome entirely back in August after his whole rampage with the little league team that intentionally walked the best hitter on the opposing team to get to a cancer-survivor kid who incidentally was the worst hitter on his team (was Phil Garner managing this team?)... that was the final high-horse trip for me.

Also, this is still true

Vivaultra wins in a landslide... everytime I casually glance at the baseball thread du jour, he's posting about something, no matter how insignificant Not since the first coming of Choken One have I seen someone post so much about nothing

While driving around yesterday and listening to the local sports shows talk about the Kansas State-Rutgers game, I thought about how ironic this game was and began to empathize with Rutgers' situation. Comparing KSU in 1998 to Rutgers this year: - Breakout year with big wins putting them in the national spotlight and talk of possible (albeit slim) national title hopes - Close overtime loss late in season against another 10+ win team costs them the conference title - Not winning the conference title causes them not only to get snubbed by the BCS, but by the big non-BCS bowls as well, dropping them down to a bowl game against an unranked team So, yeah, I can feel for Rutgers this year... though I do still want to beat them, as it would cap a surprisingly good first year for Ron Prince
