and on that note, motherfuck Brian Billick still for that game last year

    NFL Week 9

As Czech said a couple weeks ago, the perfect storm for 0-16 was last year with Miami, given the combination of the Patriots run and the well documented hubris of the 1972 Doiphins. With a team like the Lions, it's just sad.

Black people are allowed to play in the NFL wherever they want! Put some red pepper and oregano on that, that's good positioning

In dedication, here are some of my favorite SG songs "War for Sale" "Roads of Thunder" I can't believe no one on Youttube has posted "Mystery" though

    Heavy Metal and subgenre description

Hate to break up the 200 BPM drumfest, but I just read on my regular metal news website that Shadow Gallery vocalist Mike Baker died on Wednesday from heart disease Dunno who else on this board has heard of SG (he also did guest work on some other albums), but he was an amazing singer IMO

Easily the top GOTY candidate so far Forgotten immediately in the wake of that last second TD, how about that oh-so-fucking-close bobble INT on the play right before the TD. If that'd been complete, how quickly would Leach have been crucified in going for another play rather than try the FG

No close game in Lawrence, where KU is smothering K-State worse than Mangina will be smothering his turkey this Thanksgiving ... Obvious cheap shots aside, this makes three straight years Prince has been unable to beat KU, and more than likely he'll round up another set of losses to Nebraska and Missouri. Really, if it wasn't for the two wins over Texas, he would have fucking nothing to show for his three years here. Unfortunately his contract extension lasts until 2012, which means they'll likely have to pay him to go away by 2010.

    The TSM Hall of Fame

Were I to treat this as a serious entity, I'd nominate Curry for the MMA folder since he's the main guy that comes to mind when you would think about that folder, even though he'd be the Roger Clemens of our HOF... not so much for accomplishment and ability, but because nobody likes him Oh, and Rudo can go in as Curry's personal Andy Pettitte

Let's Talk About... The Apter Mags

Back in the late 80s and early-mid 90s, whenever Mom would go to the grocery store, I would always come along just to hang out at the magazine rack for the better part of an hour. I perused a variety of subjects, including video games, sports and music, but nothing captured my attention more than the wrestling mags. Later on when I would discover the internet I was mildly traumatized (okay, not really) to find out how most all of the columnists were fictitious and interviews totally fabricated, not to mention the fake annual awards that even as a teen I should have been able to infer that they weren't legit On the other hand, there were some strange times when they broke kayfabe and actually reported shoot incidents that surprised me. For example, without them I never would have known about the Arn-Sid scissors incident or the Orndorff-Vader brawl at the time they happened. They also attempted to shine minor light on some things such as the Shawn Michaels Syracuse incident, although in retrospect it was rather weak, especially compared to Meltzer's exposés of the same events.

    TSM 2003:The Memories

I thought I put enough twists on it, but, yes, the modus operandi of this board back then appeared to be taking something that was mildly amusing at first and dragging out to the point of anguish The Vince McMahon Ladder Legdrop thread is a premiere example of this

Zack and Miri Make a Porno

I like how the newer promos have turned this into "Zack and Miri Make a Porno", shifting from a movie about two people making porn for a quick buck into a plain ol' quirky romantic comedy

    The TSM Market Research Thread

    1. How often do you visit TSM? How long are you here on a typical visit? How many minutes, or hours, do you spend here daily? Daily, for sure. How long depends on time of day and events going on. If it's morning, then just long enough to catch new posts and type responses, and then check again in a couple hours. Evenings and weekends are more regular checking, especially if there's football or baseball on. 2. Which folders do you spend the most time in? Why? Which ones do you skip over? I always do "View New Posts" so I can see and respond the bevy of threads across the board, but most of my time is in the general bullshit folders (TCS and GC), plus sports and music, since those are the only things that interest me anymore. Wrestling went out the window for me a couple years ago, ditto video games, and I don't watch much TV (aside from sports) or movies at this point 3. Who are your favorite posters? What makes a poster "good"? Is this where I give a shout out to my buds from the DMC? Admittedly I can be rather shallow in my definition of a "good" poster, as I like to be amused rather than read substantial posts, which led to that whole infamous beef between Loss and I. Some people though are very good at doing both, most notably Czech, Kinetic and Edwin 4. Who are your least favorite? Why? A couple years ago I would have said all the politics-are-uber-serious-business people, though I've found that most of them aren't terribly bad, so long as you don't light that fuse of political discussion around them In my opinion, WP was the absolute nadir of my time here on this board. Even though he's long gone, Marvin has picked up his torch and seems to determined to run hobble with it until he finally immolates himself Admittedly I wasn't terribly fond of Brody after he vaulted to popularity by posting terrible pics of himself, but after realizing that's more a reflection on other people here than it is on him, I stopped caring... though those pics really were awful. You can also go in the opposite direction and have someone like Byron, who is essentially Czech if you stripped away all his personality and everything that makes him fun Am I spending too much time on this? I'll never get this questionnaire done at this rate 5. Who is your favorite mod? Can you actually name the mods we have? Treble, he's a real mod's mod 6. What brought you to TSM in the first place? Do you still come for the same reasons? Do you still watch wrestling? I don't remember exactly how I found the board, but I'm fairly sure I picked up the link off 411, then lurked for on and off as a guest over the summer of '03 before finally deciding to jump in. As noted above I don't watch wrestling anymore, but I still have sports discussion (really the best folder on the board IMO) and the general bullshittery 7. When was the board at its best? It comes and goes like a sine wave. Even early on in my time here we had the summer of 04 when Gang Wars effectively killed NHB for a few months, and then the whole green board schism, but for the most part we've always managed to come back up again 8. What is the one thing, above all else, that keeps you coming back here? Did I mention the sports discussion and bullshitting? Also, as Kinetic noted earlier, taking time to find another community and then ingratiate myself into it is just not a desirable effort at this point 9. If you could change one thing about TSM, what would it be? As has been noted elsewhere, I would like to see some fresh meat faces on this board so that we're not recycling all our old material amongst ourselves, fun as it may be. Posters like pbone and Nightwing who have come up just in the last year or so show that we still must have something that can appeal to people who in turn can bring something to the board 10. How much longer will TSM be around? As long as someone will foot the server and software bills
