The OAO Mystery Science Theater 3000 Thread
Slayer replied to DMann2003's topic in Television & Film
Much like ELM, I see Bloodlust as a "just there" middle-ground episode. Not one of the classics, but not one of the crap episodes either. My personal five worst episodes, excluding KTMA and Season 1... though truth be told there are a couple episodes in that group (most notably, Phase IV) that I would actually rate well above any of these: 1. Hamlet 2. The Girl In Lovers Lane 3. Catalina Caper 4. Castle of Fu Manchu 5. Manos I know the last one would be considered blasphemy in MST circles, but not only is it overrated as the "greatest MST episode ever", it's one of the worst offerings the show has ever put forth. -
Don't forget Spree, who was probably the most hated player in the NBA at the time due his chokaroo of PJ and general dickishness after the fact.

What? No "blacks don't play guitar" to top off your post?

The "gay points" thing was making fun of Ghettonellysfishybandaidswaman serious attempt of assigning, well, "gay points" to posters

No problem, Eric

Moving a whole country is a tall task for anyone
-
Maybe, but I still dislike most of their music, regardless
-
I'm sure John Lennon would have wanted it that way
-
Leave it to the experts

When did LIM take over Ripper's account?

I thought you were unemployed? It's a slow line for his county check

Funny enough, now that I think about it, one example of non-metal stuff I happen to enjoy would include a decent bit of McCartney's solo work (which will probably receive some scoffs from the audience here)
-
Which also presumes that I cannot enjoy anything non-metal, and I can assure you that is far from the case. For times sake, I'll spare you the fairly long list of non-metal things I can enjoy (though I think my Zappa fandom has been fairly well documented). I've just always heard over the years how great those two were (though I understand part of Lennon's deification coming from his unfortunate death) and I don't get either one. Oh, btw Banky, I do at least understand the appeal of the Beatles, but I still don't like most of their stuff.
-
It was sarcasm, and no, it isn't. You're using a post hoc argument by saying "You like X so that clearly explains why you dislike Y" when X and Y (in this case, metal and Lennon) are irrelevant to each other
-
A relevant argument, of course
-
I will never understand the appeal of Lennon. Ever or Dylan. Lennon and Dylan. Maybe it was a case of "You had to be there". I dunno.

I hate Boardum, and I fucking post in it...

No, I just said I'd like to see it, that's all

I meant HO/PO in the context of the game (which I'm guessing you haven't played), which is slightly different from an actual HO/PO on a real guitar. A lot of songs in the game don't have HO/PO if you were to play on a real guitar, but they do in the game, especially in the fast sections. The third section of "Raining Blood" (after the famous opening riff and the second section which is played mostly on the open low Eb) would have insane (game) pull offs. That's the only way you could do it.

Maybe he confused "grow facial hair" with "be funny in any way"

Which Maiden song though? So many good options to choose from. I suppose I'd run with either "Two Minutes to Midnight" or "Aces High" If they do a Metallica song, the only older song I could see working is "For Whom the Bell Tolls" since most of their other older notable stuff is in the 7-8 minute mark and I already think they're nuts for including "War Pigs". Unfortunately if they do put in a Metallica song I could see them taking the easy way out and running with "Enter Sandman" (bleh) Some other songs I'd like to see: Satriani - "Flying in a Blue Dream" or "Always With Me, Always With You" Dio - "Holy Diver" Megadeth - "Peace Sells" (though the opening solo would be a bitch" or "Hangar 18" (same for the end solo here) Slayer - "Raining Blood" (though the opening has a long series of insane pull-offs) or "South of Heaven" (provided lyrics aren't going to be an issue) Poison - "Talk Dirty to Me" (yes, a hair metal song, but I think it would work) An acoustic song(s) A blues song(s) That's what I can think of offhand
